I make sure that my skin/bone plating is strong enough to withstand some damage. Then I walk near the ship, but not to a place where the men can see me. I shout; "Greetings, I welcome you to my island. Before I reveal myself, I warn that my appearance is frightening. I would help you if you wish, and leave you to do as you wish if not."

You find a nice supply of gunpowder, around 4 barrels

Wow you rolled the first one.

It completely and utterly fails, the marine is totally prepared and you're impaled, but not killed, luckily for you the pirates begin to beserk and many marines got butchered, and the ones dealing with you decide you're going to die and leave you alone.

 

Pie

The patch is kind of irritant so you remove it, an over confident challenger swings in but lands on your lance insta killing him.

You head down to the docks and find a few men loading a cargo ship, you ask to join but they laugh and said a women can't fight.

 

Mather

You float away... And float... And float... And then sink, luckily you can't drown, but you're growing weaker from the previous battle and you might be trapped under the ocean forever.

 

Nex

Your island? What the... This island belongs to the chillwind, this is our shipping port. The men move into your position as they can judge from sound.

"DON'T UNDERESTIMATE ME! JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!?" shouts Alastor, slowly getting up, gripping his axe with bloodstained hands, before leaping at the marines who are walking away, and who now have their backs turned, pulling the lever and hitting the switch, and gathering all his strength, releasing it in a diagonal slice across the three marines.

You roll the barrel up and shoot, you're blown against the wall but not injured, a lot of debris fell in the water, and the crew begin to come down to investigate ALSO you were paid 50 gold for your previous voyage.

 

Mather

You rejuvinate yourself slightly, and you can now safely swim, though you're seemingly lost in the vast ocean, chances of finding land is now looking grim.

 

Ross

I googled it, Gurren Langen? Mmkay, You begin to succumb to the wounds a slight bit and you didn't muster the energy, luckily no one spotted you, the pirates have turned the tide, and the marines are scared and beginning to retreat, the battle looks to be won.

The soliders let you be, but wont let you near the settlement

Om the second ship you come across, you find a willing man who says he will allow you on his ship.

 

Anyway, I am tired now and have to get up at like 9 for a Doctors appointment and I don't want to look horrible when I go. So session ends, if you have been keeping track of your characters please give a report, otherwise I'll give you a report tomorrow.

Which, in retrospect, is a pretty bad system. I assume I gained some axe/sword xp though, right?

Hope we run into each other soon Iey, sounds like your char could use some protection until you're a better fighter. A 12-foot-tall bone-plated monster would be good for that purpose, don't you think? Must be better than Totoro, at least.

Ah yes, constructive criticism. Always good.

 

For starters, I know it's difficult to remember to hand out xp, but it is important, or some characters end up ludicrously powerful compared to others. I was pretty bad at it as well. And by pretty bad I mean really bad.

 

Secondly, organisation. I found it easier to understand if I put a - before everyones name on the result list. It just makes it easier to keep track of.

Yeah, I decided to make a character with no 'professional' combat knowledge. Figured I'd try a from scratch character format, lol. Btw, if Nira shrieks at the appearance of a giant, dont blame me xD. I am not my characters, they are but my disposable tools >:)

I only handed out xp to attacks that rolled high, every time Mather actually casted magic he rolled 85+.

Maybe I should've realized that this was using a Dungeoneering system, and that everyone starts with crappy stats. I was under the impression that my character was the best female swordsfighter in a swordfighting elven village, so I thought that these pirates would be chumps. Otherwise I would've done my usual tactic. Get my allies to go in first, then jump along. :P

 

Oh well, at least dying isn't that bad.

Well they kinda are chumps compared to you guys, most of you have handled at least a few pirates and they're kind of idiots. Also they roll low so... So much.

 

Good example was when Ross fought those two pirates and they just went and got themselves killed.
