Anyway, I was on my Email checking my messages and I seen a message from Jagex and the title was "Summon and raise your Pets today!" so as always, I checked and it showed like a page and it said "FREE 7 Day Trial Membership" I was surprised, I tried to do it, but it wouldn't let me ebcause I've already been P2P, which means if you have an Account/Another Account that hadn't been P2P before, now is your chance!

 

Here is the picture I was talking about:

 

 

I couldn't fit in the rest, but it was the Membership Skills you can train which is Construction and Summoning.

 

Any thoughts?

Kind of odd, did you had to enter your account details? I wouldn't trust it.

They didn't announce it on their news page so it looks fishy.

I gave my details from Account Management in Runescape, it show the green thing on the side of the URL Address, so I knew it was safe, all you give is your Email Address and you recieve Runescape News, Offers and such.

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, I don't believe it was announced, but it was mentioned as a Hidden Update in General Discussion. This is what caused that random rise in price for a lot of items a week or so ago.

This was done the same week Jagex updated the climbing boots. Since most/a lot of people were mainly focused about that change I think this went mainly unnoticed.

Old news, hard to see how anyone didn't already know about it, or how much of a rippoff it is. It's not as though money is the major reason people don't get members, and requireing a credit card is just stupid. It would have been a lot better if jagex had made sure in an other way that botters wouldn't abuse this but meh, guess it was a horrible week allround for jagex...

It's legit, but if you don't cancel your credit card within 7 days they charge you for a month of membership.

I cancelled immediately but too late...Oh well, 6 dollar for 30 more days...

You can access 20,000 hours of gameplay...but you'll only have 168 hours to do it! XD

Thats what they always do when using credit card. Its why I always have 31-34 days of membership when it first adds more.

People who arent farmiliar with this might get rather annoyed though, yes.

They are too lazy to change their billing system. All they would have to do is add a trial membership option. This option would check to see if your character has been a member as well as used the trial before. If you have not been a member or used the trial, then you will get credited for 7 days which will start counting down after you log in. With their talent and ingenuity, it could take a week max to do.

Wow you serious? Thats really bad cheap tactics used by scummy companies. They dont need to do it like that its just un-customer friendly.

 

Especially with companies on a big scale like runescape. There so many free players that might try that and they probably all tricked into paying.

 

This kinda offer is unnecessary for runescape when you got both a demo and a bigger demo available anyway. Seems mostly like a trick to make people go on the subscription unknowingly which is horrible tactics. :shock: :mellow: Doesnt matter how cheap the game is... I know when you get members they redraw the money out a couple of days before but that shouldnt be the case for this offer unless they clearly state that somewhere considering the short time available on the offer. Just horrible not to and am amazed the way the company is acting.

 

I expect that kinda thing from a company like amazon or something by putting it into the small print that infact they just ganna grab more money days before offer runs out.

I'm pretty sure Amazon.com has more success than Jagex and its standard procedure for alot of companies. Normally when you spend money on anything, its a great idea to read the fine print, especially on the internet.

Just the standard thing every company does at some point or another, I expected them to try it long ago.
