December 9, 200520 yr I was watching the extras of the movie The Untouchables yesterday night. And there was a part about the casting of Robert deNiro for the role of Al Capone, and they originally casted Bob Hoskins. In the end they got everything right financially and DeNiro got the role. But during the interview with DePalma and other crew of the movie they named Robert deNiro Bob deNiro. Now you would think that they called him Bob because they orignally casted Bob Hoskins but in the end took DeNiro. But I have seen people who are named Rob (Futurama for example) name theirselves Bob. So...I was wondering: Why do people who are named Rob(ert) name theirselves Bob? Or why are they called Bob?
