So thats what fear looks like.

What's the name of that son'[bleep]?

Camel Spider I believe, not sure of it's breed, they are common in iraq, but mostly in a tannish/brown - not sure where the hell that one comes from, but i'd cry if i saw it

I sure as hell'd do more than that. I'd be off as son as possible.

Come to NZ we are better.

In all seriousness, the only thing you need worry about (spider wise) in Sydney is the Sydney Funnel Web Spider. Other than that you're sweet.

Drop bears are more rural, but always watch the trees. Those suckers like to wander a bit close to suburbia sometimes.

OT - I hear the spiders are everywhere, much like the tarantulas in Raiders of the Lost Ark. You'll have about 20 of them on your back before you know it.

I'm guessing to the great glass eating incident of- er a few years ago?

I never really ever read that thread. (I know i'm less of a TIF'er for it).

Nope. Thread on a different forum 3 years ago that got spotlight from stumbleupon, and digg at one point.

To be honest, drop bears are nothing to be worried about. Just put a dab of toothpaste behind each ear. The strong smell of the mint will make you less attractive to them, so they won't drop on you.

Alternatively, if you have long hair, you can just wear a pointed hat. This will impale any drop bear that tries to attack, but may cause minor concussions if it's a particularly big one.

Here i made that spider a lot less scary

I'd look at it and go back to what I was doing. We have to deal with swimming spiders, 3 foot long glow-in-the-dark worms, octopi that rip off tentacles of the deadliest jelly fish in the world to use as flails, and marsupials that don't kill you so much as they use you to practice breeding. An overweight spider named after a camel isn't anything to be concerned about.
