The Unwritten Rules Of Runescape...

Featured Replies

1) When making nats using the general store method, do not steal other people's essence, it is extremly anoying and can ruin peoples systems

Nope... If you sell something to a general store then it becomes fair game for anyone else to buy. You can't expect the general store to function as your own personal mini-bank.

3) When asked about levels, dont lie about what yours really are, because people just find out, and you end up looking stupid.

I agree with the other poster, don't go around asking other people what their levels are - use the hiscores table. More often than not, the person doing the asking doesn't give a rat's what the other person's level is and is just looking for an excuse to brag about their own. I make it a point to respond with an absurdly low number.

This one seems to be forgotten:

Don't use the confuse/weaken/curse spells on players.

ok... so dont use magic spells to your advantage to win. especially if the guy you are fighting is using a super set...

There are certain unwritten rules of runescape that people need to abide by in order to keep the game runing smoothly and to keep everyone happy  so I thought about starting a post where everyone can place their unwritten rules. Theres a few that have been bugging me in particular lately:

1) When making nats using the general store method, do not steal other people's essence, it is extremly anoying and can ruin peoples systems

2) Don't beg people for items or money because most people don't want to know, if you used the begging time for levelling time, your more likely to make a lot more money!

3) When asked about levels, dont lie about what yours really are, because people just find out, and you end up looking stupid.

Please add anymore unwritten rules you think need to be added in order to make gaming, that little bit more enjoyable

i do not agree with rule 1 or 2. lets see rule 1 sounds a bit stupuid ppl sell there ess so referring its there own falut if they get stolen and some noobs lucky for some cheap ess

rule 2: i think every one beged or asked for money its just some trying to get a break i only ask for money onced and in lv 91 lol but anways rule 3 does apply u do end up looking stupid

Arrow and Essence "stealing" are allowed - but they are not decent and courteous.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Just like most things in life.

dont lie about cleaning someone at arena..oh it pisses me off

Clean_Staker.png
Definately dont arrow steal.

amen to that :P

dont steal peoples kills, for example, if 3 people are at fires, and 3 fires there, theres 1 fire for each. if 1 person steals another fire, that is really stuck up and wrong.

siggity siggity shwa

dont steal figth spots.. like at the smoke dungeon or members dungeon!

1. no smoikng

2. no food in duel!!

3. hav fun!!!11!1

sig7uu.png

this used to b a well acknowledged rule in rsc, but in the mining guild do not steal other peoples rocks, there is enough to go round and u just waste their and ur own time

-= weasel =- rsname: moosewalker ~ top 10000 player :D

newscape300x50qz7.giffull qp - always willing to chat add me...

lol another thing i love doing.

even though ill end up dropping them somewhere else because i have all the arrows i could possibly need...

its still pretty fun ticking off all those nooblets.

(i do pay my services back...

every once in a while [like maybe twice a month] ill give some a noob a #$%@ load of money [like 500k.. which to a level 23... thats a #$%@ load of money].

I also do drop parties... ill go to some random f2p bank and start dropping stuff to make bank space [which one time included full addy (g)].

so i take and i recieve.

(those who didn't catch what i just said, go to france.)

no, but seriously.. i give back to the community all the time, right after i tick off a noob so hard he quits. hehe (im such a mean-harted *)

i really don't like noobs like u

toronenarcher.gif

...crying like a baby when you've died and later accusing anyone around for "stealing their stuff".... as the saying goes...IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT IN THE KITCHEN...THEN GET OUT.

oh, and another unwritten rule .... Luva's always right 8)

dont steal peoples training spots... they'res plenty of worlds

Don't ask lvl 124 or higher what their att, def, str, and HP are. It's 99 case close.

Dont ask someone who's maxed out what their max hit is...it's annoying.

Use the hiscore page thats what its there for to see peoples levels.

If someone is selling and item with a number of gold after it don't offer items. It just ticks them off.

Oh and those of you who say don't ask about your lvls. I bet it would not kill you to be polite and answer them. It isn't like typing a 2 digit number is going to kill you. And if you are realy that picky than turn of your public chat. Some people might not want to open a new window just to find a fishing lvl. It isn't like you have anything else to do while you are training.

this used to b a well acknowledged rule in rsc, but in the mining guild do not steal other peoples rocks, there is enough to go round and u just waste their and ur own time

It is in bad taste to steal one's rock if they were occupying it currently but your comment about "u just waste their and your own time" is partially wrong. You waste their time, your objective begins quicker, thus you waste less time.- Sorry for trying to sound smart...

Do not follow people for no reason :)

Yea... now if only people had the common courtesy to follow some of these. Lol.

#2, so IS it okay to ask a friend to loan you a couple mil to get a goal achieved quicker? like to buy, yew logs to fletch to get up to 85 flethcing. when you have the intent of paying him back.

3) When asked about levels, dont lie about what yours really are, because people just find out, and you end up looking like a noob.

I would like to put it differently: Stop bugging people about levels, especially strangers. If you want to know, use the hiscore lists please!

Anyone who considers some1 saying "ranged lvl" bugging should have public chat off.. people have every right to ask simple questions and make small talk and should expect honest and polite answers.

Anyone who ask peoples levels without even saying hi first should expect to be ignored. Same with people calling me my level. I am a person, not a number.

lol omg.. i just had the same thing.. calling someone by the level is just a big nono!

Pk'ing at abbys is just weak, and most of the time they just can't get the person killed..

Don't ask people to buy or sell something unless they said they were before.

Don't arrow steal or anything similar unless the other person started being a * to you.

Don't beg, besides it never works.

Don't ask someone for something then call them a liar/noob/etc. becuase you don't like the answer.

Lagatag.png

Don,t call people def noobs i mean your saying there noob cause there BETTER then you kinda weird i,d think.

Barrow Drops: Guthan's Helm, Karil's Crossbow.

5 Pieces of the Crystal Key so far.

I would never consider meeting people irl. Not just because of risks that they could be a 40 year old man who is only interested in the bottom half of your body.

this is my personal experience...

do NOT pick on lvl 60 noobs at green dragons! if they go there with a platebody and green chaps, they probably have 85 mage, this happened to me twice but i got away both time

1: If you are a higher level that someone else, don't go and attack everything they attack. It's not big or funny to have a level 30 training on Barbarians just to have a level 60 come along and kill the same one they are attacking in two hits. I saw 3 people doing that at Barbarians today while training my newb account, each one was a pure and they delighted in doing so, constantly laughing.

2: If you are a lvl 110 wearing full dragon with a whip, and you are fighting something like the TzHaar guards, don't attack a monster a lvl 90 is fighting, letting them take alot of damage while you take the exp and items. I have seen multiple people doing this at TzHaar, and it is not funny to see someone wearing full drag who takes very little damage to get a cape from a monster that a lvl 90 is fighting.

3: Don't ask someone what those ears/scythe/whatever they are wearing is then call them a "liar n00b" when they say it is untradeable.

When you're mining at coal trucks. Don't stand over the 5 rocks on the west side and say "F--- off, my rocks!"

Especially don't say it if your mining level is about 32. Because I can and will mine the other 4 while you're mining your first one.

If you continue to insist that they're "you're" rocks I will take them from you just because. On the other hand, if you share nicely then I'll share equally nicely.

Acting like an idiot and being rude before I've done more than walk up to the mining area constitutes open season on me bugging you as much as I possibly can.

Heh... I spent about half an hour doing this to one person who insisted they were "his" rocks.
