You'll have made the wrong number because theres no way of knowing exactly how many super prays, exts, and ovls you'll use

There is no "wrong number". You need more, you make more.

Given enough time, even if you did overloads from 91-99, you'll still need more.

Lol that's like 3000 ovls or more.

Let's not forget opportunity cost of bxp

Training Herblore if you already had the potions/ing bought for a certain level is a great idea, it saves time, and money. Doing something you hate doesn't make sense unless you hate Runecrafting and your at 98, and you really want that extra 1M exp before you kill yourself. :shades:

I would never do anything I hate! This bonus exp weekend has messed up people's minds so I am glad I am not members this month. I would probably just ignore it anyway.

bonus exp weekend sucks, it makes everyone feel like they need to play for ages, ruins the market and .. something else lol. i swear the jagex i know wouldn't do something as gimmicky as a bonux exp weekend. paah.

Beyond level 94 training herb is a complete waste of bxp since you will need to make potions (and thus get xp) anyway.

In other word, once you can make ovls with greenman ale, herb levels are completely useless and should be valued at 0 gp/xp

In my case I am semi-retired and I have played for so long stuff like this doesn't really affect me but if this was 8 years ago when I was really leveling, I would be soooooo eager for bonus exp. I understand the OP in the gilded altar thread it must suck to actually get *less* exp than normal.

Say whatever you want, I finally got in range of the overloads for a very decent price, making useful potions (extremes).

My only regret is that I didn't have more money to blow on it.

Totally with you on this one. I savaged around 35m for herb supplies and made untradable potions. No waste there IMO.

I did herblore last bonus weekend and made 28m profit selling the pots I made. This weekend I used all self farmed herbs, and pots that I bought when they bottomed out a couple months in advance of the weekend. I'm actually in the profit zone all tolled with the herblore skill.

I'm buying all the supplies for 99 pray/herb/cons now, idc if it takes more time if I'll save a lot of gp. Also made about 500M profit just flipping herbs the first week after bxp was announced

I got 96 herb with effigies, and bought the supplies for 99 for a reasonable price, when 2x exp weekend was announced. Planted every seed, got every herb using farming.

...You still wanna call me a noob for taking advantage of a 2x weekend?

The thread is clearly made to mock you and make you feel like you are worthless...

In any case, for people who bought supplies after the announcement and made tradeable pots, they effectively wasted their bonus modifiers for nothing, but it's quite not the case for people who made untradeable pots or got the supplies beforehand. I needed more super prayers anyway, and i seriously doubt i could have gotten the supplies for half the price at some other time.

If you're deciding whether it's worth doing herblore during bonus xp or not, when you buy the supplies doesn't matter. If you bought them before the announcement you could have sold them for profit, what matters is the gp value of the items at the time you use them.

Depends if you are looking to be efficient or you just don't care.

Even if you bought at inflated prices you still would have saved 3-18 hours as long as you didn't buy TOO high.

bought my papayas/lantas/avantoes/dwarf weeds on one of there crashes the week before BXPW.

bought my sup energies/sup attacks/sup defs/sup strengths after they crashed Friday.

Ended up getting 3m herb xp for ~25m.

OP's post obviously only applies to stupid people.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.

It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Almost all of them crashed at different times.

Bought plenty of sara brews (4) for 5.5k each.

I see what you did there.

I got my torstols at 36k ea months ago. After bxpw was announced torstols were what, 80k+? So yeah I saved heaps on 99. And I have 1000+ ovls to use at Nex.

It's good that you got your torstols cheap, but if you had sold your torstols as soon as you could after bxpw was announced, would have been much better (and then obviously rebought at 55k ea, 25k ea profit).

I knew from the start herb prices would be inflated for the first few days, then stabilize at a little over the old medium.. and then during bxpw itself the potions would crash :)

I made alot of money with this knowledge :)

Myself, i trained runecrafting from 87-88 so far... taken forever :S
