November 29, 201114 yr I believe that, while Halo and BF do have their flaws, CoD just isn't what a First Person Shooter should be about. The stages have too many twists, turns, nooks, and crannies for such brief combat encounters that it creates a dimension involved in way too much luck. The hit detection has slowly been improving, but is that really saying much when they just now, after how many attempts, got the head shot and lunging mechanics to a decent level? The killstreaks are a story within themselves... I will give that the lower ones do add a bit of fun to chasing streaks, but it quickly becomes overkill with the choppers and such. The only pro I will give CoD is the variety in their weapon loadouts.

In MW2 I felt like there were maps that actually favored sniping as opposed to 3 where almost all the maps feel flat and congested.Rocco, I have to agree with you for once. Modern Warfare became steadily, though mildly, worse, as most series do as they grow into franchises (in this case a niche in a franchise). World at War I enjoyed during my time with it thanks to a fun, simple multiplayer and good singleplayer/co-op. Black Ops was... Cringe-worthy. November 29, 201114 yr Black Ops was [bleep]ing terrible. One of the worst games I've ever played, honestly. :thumbdown: CoD4 was epic though. It was still new, fresh idea. The only campaign that I didn't think of as 'amazing' was MW3, but I guess that's because my expectations for a 3rd world war were way too high. I would rank the Treyarch campaigns higher than the IW campaigns simply because Reznov was a much bigger badass than Price could ever hope to be.

I felt like the core gameplay just didn't feel right. It felt a lot less fluid than MW1 and MW2 and the poor hit detection didn't help either. The thing I did enjoy were the wager match gametypes.
