KCHughes
I'm going crazy look at the latest update! Humm.... SUMMONING (I'm so happy happy happy) I hope by the time we have our next meeting some of the attenders will have finished the quest. (Hint Hint) Also opportunities to gain wealth? In connection with wizards? And there is tons more....[/b] I'm not entirely sure if they are implying that it is summoning or creation, to tell you the truth. If it is summoning, however, we'll have to send someone to investigate the Tower for any signs of the Wise Old Man having even a shred of influence there. If no one minds, of course. However, if there are four mysterious things hanging around this new Tower, then finding evidence of the WOM will just be to make sure... If anyone's willing to do some searching, also keep an eye out for any of the 4 symbols on the Falador stones. *giddiness* And heaping helpings of respect to 1alebcay for the cool sig! the russians are the best! RodeoBill
My theory... I beleive that the mage (lets call him Mali) south of fally with his apprentices does not quite summon, but actually practices Necromancy (talk to him and you will understand). This is when you bring the dead to life. You see, in the basement of the wizards towers there is a skeleton from the restless ghost. The wise old man probably called upon him, to make the skeleton alive, and then enter the the portal to the rune essence place. There, he can learn about runecrafting, and form runes. This plan could not be accomplished without a distraction. While the Mali is sending the skeleton to life, WOM will be using his tinderboxes on the logs in the wizards tower setting it on fire possibly. I have not found out about the thing under the bed or the mysterious rocks... And why is there a chicken in the Wizards tower basement? And what about that sign on the wizards tower? Does that have anything to do with anything? Also, I think I've heard of Necromancy from another quest, please tell me if it was in another one. <---Clicky clicky for pizza guide! KingWenlok
I've been doing a bit of searching, and found something that may be of interest. Apparently the riders of the apocalypse carried different things. War carried a sword, Famine carried scales, and Pestilence carried a bow. However, I forget what Death carried, if anything. But anyway, are any of these things lying inside or near the Wise Old Man's house?
BoBTFish
Death is usually depicted with a scythe, though I don't know if that is something that was added more recently because it looked good for films or anything like that. EDIT: The farmer in the wheat field just north east of his house is farming using a scythe. Don't most farmers just walk around waiting to be killed? KingWenlok
Death is usually depicted with a scythe The Bible doesn't specifically mention Death carried anything, though a sycthe would seem likely. , though I don't know if that is something that was added more recently because it looked good for films or anything like that. Same with games as well. As long as Jagex keeps the basics of the apocalypse, they don't really need to worry that one carried nothing. They'll just drop a sycthe into his hand. Speaking of which, wasn't there a Halloween Event in which you could obtain a sycthe? If so, was it in Draynor?

I was thinking more that the sycthe was just another symbol for the four layers of doom. There's probably a funny sword, some long unused bow, and dusty old scales hanging around as well. If there is something about these objects that connects to the Wise Old Man, we would have another connection to the apocalypse. The list would just keep growing if these things did exist. BoBTFish
There are scales on one of the bank tables, but I don't know if they would count as they were there before, and are in most banks.
1alebcay
Here is Revelation 6:1-8 1I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come!" 2I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. 3When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" 4Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword. 5When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart[a] of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages,[c] and do not damage the oil and the wine!" 7When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" 8I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. The weapons are: A bow + crown A large sword Scales The power to kill by the sword What has become of the runescape community???? :wall:There is a community? Do those colours have any significance in RuneScape? I notice that it says 'Hades was following close behind him.' In this case, Hades would be Zaros, would he not? However, if this story is going to play out like the apocalypse, what would the horse riders be? Is it possible that the four riders shall be the masters of each level of the Stronghold of Security? But I don't think they'll just stick to their gate form. They might merge themselves with every monster from their level to create a super being. Ouch- imagine being fought by a Ghoelekou (ghost, skeleton and Ankou).

KingWenlok
Hmm...there doesn't seem to be much of a connection between Revelation's four horsemen and ours... Thing is, there are several interpretations of the apocalypse. Jagex could be using any one of them. And do we have four hoursmen? I must have missed something... Randox
I think the colours of the toy horses are black, white, tan, and red. And if The WOM's phat was the crown, would that not make the WOM one of the riders? Of couse hes still missing the bow, but if jagex wanted to bend the story a bit, his ability to cast magic with the staff might be his 'bow'. KingWenlok
I was implying that our 4 layers of apocalypse didn't resemble Revelation's, e.g. they come in a different order and aren't explicitly labeled, and seem to be a little mixed. Sorry. Me stupid. However, if that's true, does this mean that Jagex created their own version of the apocalypse? Or is this just a huge coincidence (if so, probably the biggest in gaming history)? I'd like to think our information is plausible. I mean, god war=apocalypse really, and we've found all these connections to War, Famine, Pestilence and Death through several things (the diamonds, the symbols, the Stronghold of Security etc.). P.S. You do know that if the WOM does leave a wasteland, I'll betray WOMDA at once, just for a bit of power. :P Just kidding... or am I?
KCHughes
I don't think Trobigod would approve. He'll squash you! Anyway, the John the Revelator's apocalypse is just worded less recognizably than other accounts of the apocalypse. Jagex's IS accurate, there are 4 layers/horsemen and they did the same things. It's just that Revelation's isn't labelled 'War' 'Famine' and all those...the actual names of the horsemen are more implied than anything. We're on the right track here, I think. mememe513
Info: Professor Oddenstein has his um..."Portal Machine' Perhaps the Wise Old Man might use it. There is a tinder box next to the machine and a lot of tinderboxes on the WOM's bookshelves.
