This is probably futile but does anyone know a general drop rate for the boots? Rswiki doesn't seem to have any info and people estimated seem to vary pretty wildly.

I've almost made two Armadyl staffs without seeing a single boots drop so I've easily killed in excess of 1k of them.

Sylpheed.png

What I've heard from others and experienced, I think each boot is around 1/1000 (1/1024, would be my guess) The chance of getting a boot drop at all would then of course be three times as high.

I wouldn't be too surprised if the average drop was even lower, but a 1500 dry streak (or how many you've killed) wouldn't be that unlikely with these rates.

Since I started logging them (330~ Kills) I've had 1 Boot drop (Ragefire). However I estimate i killed around 100 before logging and had a pair of glaivens.

Winarr.png

I believe we had a thread a while ago in H&A that estimated it at ~350 kills. I personally have killed around 150 with no boot drop.

217 shards, 2 boot drops. They're not common.

I want jagex to put resource dungeons and dungeoneering skill doors to dungeoneering floors so I can dungeon and get dungeoneering xp while I dg so I don't have to dg to get dg exp, but I can dg while I dg :)?

26 shards 2 boot drops. Last time we had a topic on this there was 1/400-500? for boots or thereabouts.

Glacor drops: four pairs of ragefire boots, one pair of steadfast boots, six effigies, two hundred lots of Armadyl shards, three elite clues | Nex split: Torva boots | Kalphite King split: off-hand drygore mace

30/30 Shattered Heart statues completed | 16/16 Court Cases completed | 25/25 Choc Chimp Ices delivered | 500/500 Vyrewatch burned | 584/584 tasks completed | 4000/4000 chompies hunted

Aren't special drops often dropped in powers of two. (whips are 1/512 for example, which is 1:2^9, and a lot of stuff is 1:2^8) that's why I'm guessing boots are 1:1024 each. They could of course be 1:2048, making the chance of any boot about 1:680 isntead of 1:340.

If glacors are actually considered a boss, that would be different. Nex drops are around 1/35 (we've been told it is on a rare wheel), corp drops are on a scale of 3's (1/50 ss, 1/150 elixir, 1/450 sigil wheel - 2:1 spec/arc:ely/div), TDs drop claws around 1/175, which isn't anywhere near a power of 2

Also, using a colon is not the same as using a slash. A colon denotes odds (the compared likelihood of event occuring vs not occuring), and a slash denotes the probability. So 2:1 odds are the same as a 2/3 probability.

OT: If anybody wants to ask Heur/Ish from XPW, he has killed a few thousand and has good numbers - I just can't pull them off the top of my head.

lalalasig2.png

I don't think this helps much but I have gotten 2 ragefire boots in approximately 250 kills

Sugar_Nana.png

Personally i've killed about 5k Glacors and i've had 4x Glaiven and 5x Steadfast, 2x Ragefire.

So that's ~450.

I was on a 2.6k drystreak which was broken by 3 Boots drops in under 100 kills (2 of which were about 30 kills apart).

Someone posted a droplog w/ sample size of 5k kills... Boots were ~1/500 (or 1/512)

I'm at 54 shards w/o boots

77yLQy8.png

Since I've started logging my kills this is the data I've collected. I estimate I killed ~1k before this with 1 ragefire drop, changing the average to ~1/538:

  • Glacors Killed: 1,150/10,000
  • Effigy Drops: 16
  • Effigy Ratio: 1/72
  • Ragefire Drops: 3
  • Glaiven Drops: 0
  • Steadfast Drops: 0
  • Boot Ratio: 1/384
  • Shard Drops: 123
  • Shard Ratio: 1/9.3
  • Elite Clues: 5
  • Blue Charms: 1,464
  • Crimson Charms: 1,248
  • Green Charms: 252
  • Fire Surges Used: 14,994
  • Surges per Glacor: 13.04
  • Trips Made: 36
  • Kills per trip: 32
  • Deaths: 0

Trollbomber.png

2932 Glacor kills and 9 pairs of boots - 1/326. 5 Glaivens, 3 Steadfasts, 1 Ragefire.

I guess drop in game has "memories".

based on my experience of hunting effigies, multiple drops usually happened after a long dry, vice versa.

well, just a guess.

p.s. "multiple drops" refer to the case of extremely lucky, like the guy have 3 boots in 100 kills.

That's assuming the RNG is truly random.

No reason to assume it isn't and every reason to assume it is. Please don't tell me this is amitoz on a new account trying to revive his bogus drops theory...

Armadyl Drops : 4 Hilts; 3 Chestplates; 2 Chainskirts; 1 Helmet; 1 Buckler; 2 Shard 1; 2 Shard 2; 1 Shard 3

Nex : 1 Zaryte Bow

Kalphite King : 1 Drygore Rapier ; 1 Drygore Longsword : 1 Drygore Offhand Rapier : 1 Drygore Offhand Longsword

Expanding on Nerdbombers post, my current log (always wearing RoW for kill):

  • Glacors Killed: 1,148
  • Effigy Drops: 9
  • Effigy Ratio: 1/128
  • Ragefire Drops: 0
  • Glaiven Drops: 1
  • Steadfast Drops: 3
  • Boot Ratio: 1/287
  • Shard Drops: 115
  • Shard Ratio: 1/9.98

Combining the two we have:

  • Glacors Killed: 2,298
  • Effigy Drops: 25
  • Effigy Ratio: 1/92
  • Ragefire Drops: 3
  • Glaiven Drops: 1
  • Steadfast Drops: 3
  • Boot Ratio: 1/328
  • Shard Drops: 238
  • Shard Ratio: 1/9.66

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

Something's wrong, the combined log has less effigies than your own log?

He mixed up his own and the combined with each other so the 25 should be combined and 9 is what he got. Ratios seem to be correct though.

Yup, fixed
