Sylpheed
This is probably futile but does anyone know a general drop rate for the boots? Rswiki doesn't seem to have any info and people estimated seem to vary pretty wildly. I've almost made two Armadyl staffs without seeing a single boots drop so I've easily killed in excess of 1k of them.
Scherzo
What I've heard from others and experienced, I think each boot is around 1/1000 (1/1024, would be my guess) The chance of getting a boot drop at all would then of course be three times as high. I wouldn't be too surprised if the average drop was even lower, but a 1500 dry streak (or how many you've killed) wouldn't be that unlikely with these rates. Winarr
Since I started logging them (330~ Kills) I've had 1 Boot drop (Ragefire). However I estimate i killed around 100 before logging and had a pair of glaivens.
The_Fray
I believe we had a thread a while ago in H&A that estimated it at ~350 kills. I personally have killed around 150 with no boot drop.

Scherzo
Aren't special drops often dropped in powers of two. (whips are 1/512 for example, which is 1:2^9, and a lot of stuff is 1:2^8) that's why I'm guessing boots are 1:1024 each. They could of course be 1:2048, making the chance of any boot about 1:680 isntead of 1:340.

They could of course be 1:2048, making the chance of any boot about 1:680 isntead of 1:340.If glacors are actually considered a boss, that would be different. Nex drops are around 1/35 (we've been told it is on a rare wheel), corp drops are on a scale of 3's (1/50 ss, 1/150 elixir, 1/450 sigil wheel - 2:1 spec/arc:ely/div), TDs drop claws around 1/175, which isn't anywhere near a power of 2 Also, using a colon is not the same as using a slash. A colon denotes odds (the compared likelihood of event occuring vs not occuring), and a slash denotes the probability. So 2:1 odds are the same as a 2/3 probability. OT: If anybody wants to ask Heur/Ish from XPW, he has killed a few thousand and has good numbers - I just can't pull them off the top of my head. Hot Nana
I don't think this helps much but I have gotten 2 ragefire boots in approximately 250 kills
Noxx
Personally i've killed about 5k Glacors and i've had 4x Glaiven and 5x Steadfast, 2x Ragefire. So that's ~450. I was on a 2.6k drystreak which was broken by 3 Boots drops in under 100 kills (2 of which were about 30 kills apart).
muggiwhplar
Someone posted a droplog w/ sample size of 5k kills... Boots were ~1/500 (or 1/512) I'm at 54 shards w/o boots

hlpmee
I guess drop in game has "memories". based on my experience of hunting effigies, multiple drops usually happened after a long dry, vice versa. well, just a guess. p.s. "multiple drops" refer to the case of extremely lucky, like the guy have 3 boots in 100 kills.

Quyneax
Something's wrong, the combined log has less effigies than your own log? Hedgehog
http://pastebin.com/KecLBMJX You can use this to log kills. There might be a few typos/missing drops. If you see any, just tell me and I'll fix.
