Cause you aren't a JMod?

No but we do get the occasional glance from the Admins which are our equivalent of them.

I'm the equivalent of an old RSC player who tells him to stop being an ass or GTFO.

.....Wow. I woke up at this ungodly hour because my moderator senses were going off. Had I not taken a shower, I would've logged on in the middle of Res and Mather arguing.

Now for slightly preventative measures.

First things first: Res, if you do not like how something in the Tavern is set up, then discuss it with an admin or supermod if you actually want it to change. Right now, posting about how the back room should be in OT and a few other topics should be elsewhere is, frankly, not helping anyone.

Next: Mather, Res has as much a right to want to change things in here as you or I do. Being new does not make your opinion invalid.

Now that that's done, Icu's idea for another new Dungeoneering looks very nice, and I look forward to playing once you guys get all the rule kinks worked out.

Mather, Falador Tavern is an RP forum - it doesn't matter how long you have been here or what your opinion of it is a roleplaying forum. Learn to read.

And we need a game running. I liked all of your hegemony ideas Icu btw please start.

He has as much right as anyone to want something, but he's posting it as demands rather than suggestions, something which is unacceptable from anyone.

My point with him being a newbie is that it is wrong that he comes into the picture here with the obvious intention of changing it, if he is unsatisfied with the Tavern, why join it in the first place? You can't just join something and immediately start ranting about what you think is wrong about it, that's just disrespectful towards everyone.

From what I can tell, no, he isn't. He's discussing a change with arguments regarding what he thinks should be done in the Tavern. From what I can see, he's not currently 'demanding' anything.

But he didn't join to rant, he joined to play. And seeing as there's not that much to play at the moment, he has every right to ask that we start up a game.

I'm thinking about starting up another thread separate from this one solely for game ideas so that they don't get lost in the discussion of random nonsense. Thoughts?

There should be a way to work on games together so that we have everybody playing it, maybe with updated polls and such.

Clearly there are some positions that some of us cannot agree upon, so it would be impossible to have everybody playing.

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

Well I agree with that however I feel that having multiple creators would largely benefit the game creation process as opposed to one person simply asking whether or not there is interest.

I think that for your idea, Icu, it might be a better idea to use one of the other systems that Grim and Wyvren were suggesting.

DnD is not really designed to be played with point based (aka Dungeoneering leveling) things and a lack of classes.

Was really only going to steal their combat system. As it's easy to roll and easy to remember.

And their attributes and the effect the attributes have.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Resistance, you're being stupid again. How many times do I have to remind you that being stupid is MY JOB?!

Nex...all you did for interacting with me was inviting me here and then blasting my quarter's door away three times. And sticking me into a hole.

Mather, as much as I am siding with you on this conflict, you need to calm down. This is a debate, not a fraggin' argument.

Ico, PLEASE MAKE THE DUNGEONEERING GAME. I EPIC FAILED AT IT!

Please explain to me how I am being stupid.

You didn't fail, you didn't even try, you just made a game and then decided that you didn't want to moderate it anymore.

Its all I have to say on the idea of everyone agreeing, and the generally Hexian idea of multiple creators, screw the mod and players know best.

Players are, for the most part, idiots. That is a fact.

If you were playing a game of chess, and you were about to lose then you might go 'Actually, you know what, I think that Kings can move two spaces at a time' to prevent yourself from losing.

You need an impartial Mod, and that means someone who isn't playing the game. So unless everyone stops playing every time a decision needs to be made...your idea is unworkable.

We can see this quite evidently by the fact that no one has taken interest in your game...And no amount of claiming the backroom swallowed your idea can contend with the fact that you created a seperate topic and still no one has taken an interest.

(Explaining in case somewhat gets Mod happy and removes it: If everyone talked about it then there would be no music. Everyone would want the most notes, or everyone would want to play someone elses bit of music. Instead there is a composer and a conductor, people who write the music and people who administer the music so that the players don't try to help other people find their place by playing loudly or whatever.

Ergo, a GM is a conductor/composer, and the players are the people on instruments)

Bad idea.

People who complain their idea isn't getting enough attention tend to be the people who no one wants to play with.

Would be a better idea to simply institute a 3 day rule, that if an idea hasn't got three people playing then the thread to should be locked, and the idea to have been considered to have failed...Better than people sitting around going 'My idea is so awesome, if only people would play'.

Mather, part of being a senior member of the Tavern...if you want to call yourself that...is being reserved and respectful. It doesn't do to shout the odds at a 'newbie' because they are shouting the odds...

An eye for an eye and we all go blind....ect. ect.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I fully support the Dungeoneering idea.

In approximately 8 or so days, I'll be back at school and have (surprisingly) more free time . I would be willing to run a play by post as an introduction to a game system (ie using premade characters at least at first). I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants to do so (I would prefer not to use games like shadowrun where there's an inane amount of dice), but I would prefer not to homebrew too much system wise.

LNYvk.png

I have a couple of weeks left before school starts. Hopefully in a few hours I'll be able to post an important character for Cyber World. And maybe some artwork for it too. :P Yay, now I can add more artwork for the Billboard

Archi, to an extent most games already have multiple creators however its not official and the aspects of creation are focused into the wrong parts of the game.

qTLQRuS.png

Resistance, it really just doesn't work like that. Ideas different people have for the same game usually don't mesh, I mean the closest was Ross and Archi as Dungeoneering Mods, but even that saw some disparity.

I was really referring to systems, having multiple try and tell a story usually ends up with massive arguments.

qTLQRuS.png

Well, systems really have to have just one person or it leads to misunderstandings. Though Archi has been extraordinarily helpful to me by listening and making sure everything is functional.

I have noticed some systems that ones that I don't like, if they were discussed they could be improved.

Well, it's all about what the GM is comfortable with. Remember, we exist too, it's not just about what you enjoy.
