--------------------------------------------------

1. A (brief) History of Baths

Baths first came about with the birth of Zaros, whereby in his younger years, Zaros was fond of playing in the muddy fields around his house. His mother, Equenox the Fat, despised him doing this, but not wanting to quash his freewill, she devised a method of cleansing her son, without ruining his ego (or his best robes). She headed to one of the nearby fields, and from it she withdrew from the earth a hefty sum of clay. With this clay, she forged Zaros a bathtub, within which he would bathe.

Perhaps it was here, in the muddy pits of the digsite that Zaros began to frollock so merrily as a child. Equenox the Fat also bought Zaros his own pet, after he managed to kill her own, Drazhar the rather-satanic-Toad, whose bones can be seen below. Surely, this would be the reasoning behind Azzandra attempting to bring Zaros back from the unknown, into here of all places: his childhood stomping grounds.

281sn0p.png

As Zaros grew older, and eventually moved out from his childhood home, he was always in need of a good bath. After moving into his new crib in Ghorrock, Zaros desired to have a bathtub of his own. Here, in the basement he created his first ever bathtub (Figure 1).

He also created a smaller bath, to bathe his rather dumb, pet monkey by the name of Mojo.

35clvdk.png

Inspired by their god, followers of Zaros, amazed by the perfect hygiene of their lord, began to copy him, creating baths of their own. In doing so, Zarosians slowly became vastly superior to those of other faiths, a prime example being Nex. This hygiene boost was the key reason in her imprisonment in the God Wars Dungeon, and those warrios fighting upon the floor above, of Zamorak, Saradomin, Bandos and Armadyl all sought to acquire the secret of hygiene. In time however, the phenomena that was personal hygiene began to spread across the land: not only where Zarosians (even Lucien) practicing it, but in time, followers of Saradomin, Armadyl, Zamorak, other minor gods and most notably Bandos began to follow suit, notably shown by the development of the Oo'glog Spa Resort in the southern regions of the Feldip Hills. Truly, the development of the bathtub was instrumental in the shaping of modern day Runescape, defining both the Second and Third Ages, and likely to define the Fourth Age, where it is believed that the follow up quest to Ritual of the Mahjarrat will allow us to use Zaros's bath scrunchie (what is now known as the Stone of Jas), to find Zaros's first ever bath tub: something that is believed to grant the user great power, beyond that ever experienced on Gielinor.

To this day, Humans and other alike races still use the bath tub (despite the development of pouring a bucket of water onto the head, a fad believed that will soon die out) to improve their personal hygiene, although many still use it simply to show their allegiance to the lord Zaros.

2. In Game Locations

[hide=i) Fisher King Realm]

Requires completion of the Holy Grail quest, it can be accessed by blowing the magic whistle or fairy code BJR. The bathtub is in a house to the north west of the land. Fastest way to access after completion of quest is using fairy rings.

ri6jww.png

[/hide]

[hide= ii) Varrock]

In the Palace, first floor in the south eastern corner. Fastest access, teleport to Varrock, run through palace to tub.

1zbaq37.png[/hide]

[hide=iii) Falador]

First floor of a building on the east side of the city, to the east side of the fountain square. Fastest access is via teleporting to Falador, running east to the square then into the house.

2v0y9li.png[/hide]

[hide=iv) East Ardougne]

i) First floor of the general store building, east of the entrance to the zoo and south of the church. Fastest access: teleport to Ardougne, run west from the market and into the shop.

inbvyg.png

ii) North of the castle, first floor of the eastern building by the gate. After visiting the previous bath tub, run west over the bridge, then north along the river. Enter the building to the west of the path, nearest the gate, then up the stairs.

20znwk4.png[/hide]

[hide=v) Draynor]

Inside the manor, on the first floor in the south eastern corner. Fastest access: teleport to Draynor via Lodestone or Glory teleport. Run north across the crossroads, and into the house. Enter, and proceed up the first flight of stairs, then find the tub.

200ahsj.png[/hide]

[hide=vi) Miscellaneous]

Whilst not technically baths, these two are titled so in game, and can be thought of as baths, so I thought that any hygiene aspiring reader would appreciate to know their location. Fastest access to both baths is via a charter ship, (closest to a lodestone is Catherby) or running east from Mobilising Armies.

i) Mud Bath: Located in Oo'glog, this requires As A First Resort quest for complete usage and will boost the users theiving level when bathed in!

2eo8qrc.png

ii) Thermal Bath: Located in Oo'glog, this requires As A First Resort quest for complete usage. The bath cures and provides temporary protection from the effects of poison, disease, life point loss and boosts the players' life points by 15-20%.

3. Speed Running the Baths

So, you say you want to speed run from bath to bath, maximising your hygiene regime so you can gain maximum aesthetics, much like the high lord Zaros? Well you're in luck! Here is the fastest way to access every bath in the land, as quickly and efficiently as possible. So what are you waiting for? Lets begin!

[hide=3. Speed Running]

Starting in Lumbridge, the first stop for any brave bath runner, teleport to Varrock either via lodestone or Varrock Teleport (Requires 1 Law Rune, 1 Fire Rune and 3 Air Runes, along with level 25 Magic). From here, either run north along the red or yellow path straight through the center of Varrock and into the palace. Alternatively, having set your Varrock teleport to the GE entrance, follow the cyan path. Even more alternatively, by arriving at the GE via Spirit Tree (requiring Tree Gnome Village quest), run along the blue path, and into the palace via the same entrance as that of the other paths. Once inside, travel up the stairs and into the south east corner of the 1st floor, where you will find a lovely bathtub.

minviq.png

Now, from here, lets hit up Falador. Cast Falador Teleport (Requires 1 Law Rune, 1 Water Rune and 3 Air Runes, along with level 37 Magic) or utilise the lodestone teleport, placing you at the north gate. Run along the blue or yellow path (both travel the same route, but the lodestone path is slightly longer) across town, traversing the past the park on your left, and the bank on your right and into the fountain square. Enter the building on the eastern side of the square, and climb the stairs. Here you will find a delicious bath, complete with a mirror, to admire yourself once you do decide to leave the comforts of the bath.

11vteet.png

Onto Draynor now. Teleport with either an Amulet of Glory (Option 3) or the Draynor Lodestone. More advanced bath runners can use the Explorer Ring Cabbage Patch teleport, although this will ultimately place you farther away than the direct Draynor Teleports. For runners teleporting straight to Draynor (blue and yellow lines on map), proceed north from your arrival, passing through the Manor gates, taking care to avoid the Undead Trees, and into the Manor itself. Runners using the Explorer Ring (red line on map) should run south and east of the cabbage patch, through the border guards and on a north eastern slant, towards the Manor grounds. From here, head north and into the Manor. Once inside, proceed up the stairs, and onto the first floor. From here, head south east, across the floor, until you find an antique bath tub, complete with cobwebs. Enjoy your ghostly bathe!

153kys6.png

Now let us travel to Ardougne! Runners can now either teleport via Ardougne Teleport (Requiring 2 Law Runes and 2 Water Runes with a Magic level of 51), the Ardougne Lodestone, or Teleport to Fishing Guild on the Lunar Spellbook, requiring a Magic level of 85 and the use of 2 Law Runes, 2 Astral Runes and 8 Water Runes. Runners teleporting directly to Ardougne should run west, stopping in at the first bath above the General Store, then west over the bridge, and northwards to visit the second bath, in the buildings nearest the entrance gate. Runners approaching from the Fishing Guild should travel south west, entering Ardougne from the northern gate, stopping by the first bath in the buildings closest to the gate, then south and then east over the bridge, to the aforementioned General Store bath. Ardougne Lodestone runners have a choice of two routes: they should first enter the city, through the closest northern gate, running west past the bank. From here they can travel over the log bridging the stream, and to the northern gate bath, or down the path to the general store bath. After visiting either bath, Runners should loop back and visit the one the missed, via either route.

sgim8h.png

From here, I think it is time we visited the Fisher Realm. Runners can either traverse Ardougne to the docks, sailing to Brimhaven then entering the Realm via the blowing the Magic Whistle on the north western part of Karamja isle (blue route on map), or teleporting directly into the Realm via Fairy Ring BJR (yellow route on map). Once inside the Realm, runners should proceed west (over a bridge if using the Magic Whistle) and into the building in the north western corner, to find my favourite bath in the game.

Traversing Ardougne to the docks from either bath

2pywzlx.png

Inside the Fisher Realm

nqxtf4.png

Finally! You have completed your run of all the officiallly designated baths in the game. You can now call yourself a Proffesional Bath Runner!

Don't stop there though, you can still get to those elusive Oo'glog Baths.

Either teleport to Mobilising Armies (MA), with Duelling Ring option 3 or Mobilising Armies Teleport (requiring 1 Law Rune, 1 Earth Rune and 1 Water Rune, with a Magic level of 10), or teleport to Catherby or another town, with a close dock to the teleport, and charter a boat directly to Oo'glog. If you decide to go to MA, run straight east from your arrival, passing the Ogres and Wolves safely. Enter the spa resort and slowly head north west along the yellow path on the map, until you reach the Thermal Bath to the west, and the Mud Bath to the east. Runners chosing to arrive via boat should disembark the ship, then run west, following the blue line on the map, first arriving at the Mud Bath and then continuing on towards the Thermal Bath.

4. Conclusion & Credits

I hope you, the reader, have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the role of the bath in Runescape, and all it's in game locations. I hope that it will serve you will in your own Runescape adventures, giving you inspiration and a drive to do some good in the world. Remember, the key to success, as shown by Zaros, is a good level of personal hygiene.

I would like to thank my mum, dad, fish, Zezima and IVP for supporting me throughout my research and writing process of this guide. Without you guys it wouldnt have been possible.

Special mention to 999134thpure for the genius idea of making this guide: you are my one in a million.

[hide=Disclaimer]

This isn't a serious thread, if you hadn't realised already.

Just so he doesn't get upset, Equenox isn't actually fat or female. He is a nice healthy weight and an alien. ET never really went home.

Any similar guides, most likely to be by Drazhar44 & Swedishboy5 I will consider an insult to humanity and I urge you all not to read, look, rate or in any way acknowledge their existence. You know this is the best guide.[/hide]

Sorry but you know this isn't a real RS guide. Not only do these things not really exist in RS but your guide has no practical purpose for in-game play and as a result violates guidelines for the General Guides section.

Just a general note: if you're going to encourage joke things like this, do it in Blogscape please. :)
