as much as it's fun following updates it is incredibly sad. how is 100 hours a week on any game ok?

 

14.28 hours a day

 

Heres a 100 hour work week

 

6 am, shower, get dressed, eat

7 am start grind

12 noon eat

1 start grinding again

10:20pm call it a night

 

This is 7 days a week. Yeah I dont know how anyone can do this schedule following any job or hobby.

Hello everyone!

 

Some of you know, but most of you probably don't know, that I am in college working to become a nurse. Anyways, I only have one class that I need to take this coming semester. What i'm getting at is with only being in school for one class, I am going to be starting a full time job soon. Because of this, I will no longer be able to play competitively. As much as I love RuneScape, it is just a game, and "real life" will always be my first priority.

I don't know if this is bad luck or good luck or just the new percentages of tasks now but my xp rate has decreased due to frequent slayer tower tasks and a lack of cannon tasks after getting 85 slayer. I got 5 whips today though lol.

Foot got hacked last night and lost his emails. He managed to get them back but not before the hacker switched to a different email. He currently doesn't have access to his RS account.

Congrats to you Jabber for continuing your education, finding a job, and realizing that this is 'just a game.' While it was short lived, it was very entertaining to 'hope' you could be a challenge to Jebrim. However short it was, you had a good run. I applaud you for putting Runescape aside to concentrate on real-life, many people cannot.

As a spectator I'm kind of dissapointed with the 'race'. The nearest user, User is over 300 hours behind Jebrim. Now that I think of it, this kind of turned out like the 200m all skills thread. >.>

Ya. I think the big thing to realize in a race like this is that people start slacking off or quitting once they realize they have no chance of winning. After several people in a row do this, yeah the gap will increase to people who never believed they had a chance. Consistent strong play is required. I guess I'm more disappointed in the number that have quit even maxing instead of just slowing down. Dark Lust, Razzeh, Foot, Jabberwoky. Not one continued consistent gains at just a slower pace. So now we're stuck with #2 being someone who never expected to be competitive for #1.

Or, the fact people realize this is a game and not their entire life.

Are you talking to me? I'd make consistent gains. Not being rank 1 does not automatically remove any reason whatsoever to skill, otherwise nobody would skill in RuneScape. Just continue your goal at a slower pace and aim for whatever rank you can get, that's all. All these people stopped completely which wasn't really necessary.

I think other players realised there wasn't much point in competing for second place in a race that only a small number of people care about and even fewer are taking part in. It doesn't really take much to be first in a sprint when everyone else is jogging at best.

The vast vast majority of skillers are doing it just to continue to make progress on their account. Take the rank goal aside and there's still reason to skill, otherwise there wouldn't be any skillers whatsoever. It's just weird and disappointing that these specific skillers quit gaining even any Xp, nevermind rank 2.

Maybe normal players don't see hardcore nolifing to maxed as fun thing to do as you see it. And those who dropped out of the competition didnt enjoy the game anymore. Why is it a problem for some of you that they just didnt enjoy it anymore and thus quit the server. Does not influence you in any way.And I think this is good for jebrim and his ego. Now after all, he can bash around saying how he maxed 3 months before anyone else in oldschool rs. Its very great achievement but average player couldn't give a **** about it. Most of the players are looking for the current #1 rank, not the history ones.Who can remember the first player to achieve 99 fishing on "real" rs server. Yup, not many of us.
