New pies FTW! New pie discussion.

Featured Replies

Mud, garden, fish, admiral, wild, and summer. These are the new pies, but are they truely worth making? (Forget mud pue, you can already find dozens of threads for those, this is a topic about good pies ;))

So, you may be asking, "what exactly do these pies do? I'M TOO LAZY TO SEARCH!" :P Well, I'll tell you, ya lazy bum.

  • [*:14wxuqkm]garden: +3 farming

    [*:14wxuqkm]fish: +3 fishing

    [*:14wxuqkm]admiral: +5 fishing

[*:14wxuqkm]wild: +4/5 range (seems to be a percentage) and +4/5 slayer

    [*:14wxuqkm]summer: +5 agility

So, now you know what they do, how useful are they really?

Well, thanks to these pies, I can now fish sharks (lvl 72 fishing, and no need to level it, thanks to peaches ;)) and do regicide (lvl 51 agility, I HATE agility, and even though everyone seems to have higher agl than me, I'm still too lazy to level it ).

About healing, each pie heals a decent amount, but they are 2 bites each, so not that helpful. At the best, the wild pie is decent for training on slayer monsters with range, 11 hp, 4/5 range lvls and 4/5 slayer lvls per bite, which isn't that bad.

So what do you think about these new pies? Think that a bunch of low level people will do regicide? Kill slayer monsters? Fish sharks? Or do you just think oddfaery2 will just be pissed because now he can enter the fishing guild? () Discuss.

(Ok, ok, I know, not the best discussion, but I'm slightly sick and pretty tired, and feel like making a discussion post :D, so DISCUSS!)

The path to abysmalls is so long i dont think anyone in their right mind would wanna use wild pies to kill them. As for fishing, well if you just buy lobs, you would get food heaps faster, and unless you need for pk/barrows/kq etc, sharks arent much use.

Farming pie on the other hand is awesome. Cider is too hard to make, and garden pie means that my farming can go up to 71! woot.

I wonder... Does this mean that you no longer need 85 slayer to kill abyssals? I'm going to go make some Wild pies and see if I can kill one.

Sad part by JAGEX to get the cooking skill more popular

The cooking skill is already INCREADIBLY popular.......

All JaGeX is doing is diversifying (sp) the cooking skill and making some yummy pies that give good bonuses when eaten :D

Everyone loves cooking, and now everyone loves cooking more!

w4M8t.png

wait....is it 4/5 slayer lvls PER half pie...or is it 4/5 total?

Jagex are just trying to make us cook different foods. I mean, the only real things ever cooked that lobsters, swordies, and sharks.

The problem with these new foods(not just the pies, but the drinks as well), is that they hose down an already unpopular skill: herblore. If you ask me, a slayer potion(among others) would have been a great addition, instead of making fishing pots even more obsolete, and giving us a ranger pot substitute.

Cooking should be for health restoration, herblore should be for stat boosts and poisons.

That's my two cents.

i agree. herblore is the worst skill besides farming. slayer is cool but it takes absolutely FOREVER to lvl. I gained 20k slayer xp today....thats ridiculous considering i trained almost 200k str. anyways the pies r alright but are a little weird....a pie giving a stat boost? maybe to bloatedness, but not to fishing!

to clarify things.. it is a fixed 5 slayer levels and 4 ranged levels. both me and jessy87 half a half pie; our ranging levels are 75 and 86, and slayer levels of 69 and 78 i believe. but the point is, if the bonus was a %, almost any percentage would change the visible stat boost with our level difference. jessy also went to the nechs (needing 80 slayer) and was able to kill a few. that data is all in the other post about pies though i forget the title, and it's probably on the second page by now. if someone freaks out wanting pictures, i'll post, but otherwise meh.

I love them...I used the Admiral pies the first day they came out to fish sharks, and just an hour ago, when I discovered what the Wild pie did, I went and killed Gargoyles and got a Granite Maul. (Alright...so the mauls aren't even worth much...but I've never owned one, and it feels good getting one as a drop. lol)

So my opinion...the new pies ROCK. And my 86 Cooking level is making me even happier than it was before the update. ;)

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.
