sure, theres going to be taking advantage of the market to get money and everyone is guilty of that (even people like myself who dont do that any more since we have money but buy raw materials for more than the standard cost), but that money should be used to play the game instead of get richer and richer.

Why stop there? I think Jagex should find every Merchant on Runescape, then come to their houses in real life, shoot their families, post the pictures on the main website, and then decapitate the Merchants themselves in the middle of England.

Some of us don't have the flexibility to merchant. Me, for instance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To be a successful merchant, you have to be flexible. You need to come on early in the morning, or late in the evening. Different times in the weekdays, different times on the weekends. I simply don't have the time to do that and keep track of all the rare prices.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh well, at least I'll have a fire cape, and they'll never be able to buy one. :lol:

Hmm, I've never heard of this before like a lot of other people. Some people have suggested a different set of currency like silver, and this is a pretty good idea. WoW does this, and so do other games that people mentioned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But what about an item that could be bought and sold to only 1 exclusive store? It would be like in a lot of console RPGs, where you can buy diamonds or gold bars for X amount of coins, and could sell it back for just as much.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think this would be a good alternative to the different currency, if JaGeX is worried about people being scammed because of it; although I would be in favor of that system over this one. Just an idea.

The easiest thing that jagex could do is create another currency, such as silver pieces, or I dunno, dragon coins? :lol:.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Basicly said, 1 dragon coin could be equal to say... 1 million. They would be stackable and act just like coins. This way, you could effectivly hold 2100M of coins worth 1 million each, thus having the problem solved.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is what they did on lineage II private server's I played on. Because in the full game getting 2.1billion was very hard (and, heres the bad part. In lineage II it doesn't just "not let you get anything" or delete the money you had before, but it infact if you go over 2.1billion turn your money into a negative, making you lose it all.) they made it so you had "gold coins" worth like 50 mil each or so.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm afraid that Lineage II and Runescape 2 share that massive flaw. I have been informed that GP also becomes negative after 2100M, which is just insane if you ask me. Sure, right now there might only be a very small amount of players that will have a problem with the cap, but the situation will only worsen over time. In a year from now when Phat Sets cost around the same as the cap (2100M), this could lead to massive problems.

I don't merchant myself and I don't really care too (other than long term rare stuff). But you are just being a scumbag with comments like this. This game is an RPG and in an RPG you can do whatever you wish to do. People have different goals and things they wish to achieve. Some like to get into the highscores for certain things, achieve high amounts of money, become a good pker, and so on. There is no proper way to play an RPG, anything goes that is within the games borders and I'm sick of people trying to tell people otherwise. THERE IS NO CORRECT WAY FOR THE GAME TO BE PLAYED.

As suggested, the best solution would be to create the "5 gp coin" and the "10 gp coin" all the way upto the "1,000 gp coin" Then have a money changer who will take your money and change it to the proper value in bigger coins. This would raise the cap to the 2.1 trillion mark, which if ever hit is by far too much RS money for anyone.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This would not only benefit the extremely rich, but the rich, the well off, and the 100k+ people.
