March 25, 200620 yr I've seen lots of people here defend luring, saying that if you go into the wild you should expect to die. I've always thought that explanation was shortsighted, but couldn't really point to anything that made luring reportable. Thing is, Jagex says that it's scamming. I sent a query, and here's the answer: Greetings Swampjedi, If at anytime you believe that either yourself or another player is being victimised by a scam, then you should use the report abuse button on the game window. Luring players into a trap to steal their items is in violation of: Rule 2 - No Item Scamming You must not scam or deceive other players. Lying to other players for your own personal gain is not in the spirit of the game. Again please submit an abuse report through the game window. Please always refer to the RuneScape Knowledge Base to find the answer to your queries quicker. So, tip.it - don't support these scammers anymore. Report them. Jagex needs to make this explicit. Anyone who continues to support luring supports scammers, and we all know how long those people last here at tip.it. Jagex says luring is a scam. Don't do it or support it. My Goals and Achievements
March 25, 200620 yr i never supported it, i just said you should think to yourself, why is this person wanting to trade in level 5 wild? i just say use common sense and you should be fine.
March 25, 200620 yr Author Gosh, of course it's common sense. I'd never argue that it wasn't. My Goals and Achievements
March 25, 200620 yr  Sounds to me like you fell for the picking-up-3-d longs-and-losing-whip tactic. Luring players into a trap to steal their itemsThey were saying that luring them to the dark wizards or the wine scam was scamming, NOT wildy luring. NOTE: I don't lure, or even pk for that matter, but luring sounds like a decent tactic, instead of all this point and clicking. :^_^: I drew that smilie, btw, along with a few more used by this site.Classic bloodveld for lyph3! Although I do like the new ones.Like a ninja, here I was, gone I am now.BUT! I may be back! Add my new account, Dr Bloodveld!
March 25, 200620 yr I've not supported it. However i feel no sympathy for those that lose things this way. In my opinion luring is not scamming. If someone goes into the wild with their items, they should expect to lose them. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
March 25, 200620 yr normal wildy luring is fine, I have a query saying so. Its the luring where you trade with someone near edgeville bank etc and lure them to the wildy thats wrong.
March 25, 200620 yr yes, the CS team has again confused what you are talking about. I don't like lures, and i think they are noob, but having your clan pop up on someone following you is no way a scam, though it is noob and dishonest.
March 25, 200620 yr Luring is: Noobish Desperate Pathetic Stupid Dishonnest But it is not scaming... CS has mixed you up with luring people into trade scams. Not wildy scams, CS picks the keyword and sends an pretyped messaged to you, it's one of their many ways to cut down the amount of work. Millions of letters + Two small teams = Stressful work...
March 25, 200620 yr Author I mean edgeville trade scams, not "drop 4 d long" scams. I don't go into the wild, so no one has scammed me. I guess I didn't make that clear. My Goals and Achievements

Well to be correct about 85%.
March 25, 200620 yr Luring is: Noobish Desperate Pathetic Stupid Dishonnest Most of the attributes also fit the players who fall for luring... To topic: Trade scams are always reportable if being lured or not.
March 25, 200620 yr I don't think anyone actually supports lurers, we just refuse to feel sympahty for the idiots that fall for it. I have used this analogy a few times now, and no one has pointed out any flaws in it so far (if you see any, please do): Let's say you are walking down a busy street in a big city. Someone walks up to you and offers to sell you something (A paper hat, or possibly a Rolex, whatever you are in to). However, he says instead of trading you here, he would rather go back a dark empty alley to make the transaction. Now, if you would follow him back the ally, would you honestly expect him to not try and mug you? This is pretty much the same thing lurers are doing. Look, if your mom still drops you off at school, you ain't gangsta, pull up your damn pants!3 down, 7 to go
March 26, 200620 yr i don't think luring in wild is a reportable thing:? and if you get lured now , you deserve to die.
March 26, 200620 yr Yeah, luring is bad. But it isnt TECHNICALLY against the rules Currently not active on RuneScape.
March 26, 200620 yr you say you have seen many here defend luring? wat plaent r u on? every single thread bout such scam 90% of responces say about reporting and to not do it as it is a scam well if tht is supporting them bite me, but i could swear tht was anti I know which planet i'm on but your planet must really suck, seeing as you can't spell every second word right there must be no education. anyway, people that lure should get banned, it may or may not be illegal by jagex, but it's definetly walking on the line between illegal and legal. just don't do it, it's for people that can't pk and are too stupid to make their own money. March 26, 200620 yr Some Jagex mods say SS is legal Some Jagex mods say Autotyping without Spamming is legal Some Jagex mods say signature selling is illegal Some Jagex mods say POHs are coming My point? Different mods will tell you different things. I'd rather listen to the community's consensus. They seem to be the ones who know the game most. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
March 26, 200620 yr If concerned about breaking rules, how about reading bottomn part of a message from jagex? "The contents of this message are strictly confidential and are intended only for the owner of the account to which it was sent. The contents of this message must not be disclosed to any other person or copies taken. " not a flame, just thing about that please? Anyway, i was stupid enough to lure with a friend once. the money i made feels like blood money. Tricking out of someone for gp ain't what you wanna do. anyone with morals at all would understand that lieing and cheating have no place in runescape, or business at all.
March 26, 200620 yr Author Tchip, we're talking in-game rules. I never signed any confidentiality clause, so that's not legally binding. My Goals and Achievements
March 26, 200620 yr Lures who lure people with rare sales are a bunch of scum and need to lie to get personal gain off someone else's hardwork. That in my opinion is the lowest of the lowes. For example the monestry trick or the Oziach thing were they say they are buying rune plates trick is also pathetic. It happens all the time while selling rares and it is getting way out of hand. :x
March 26, 200620 yr be like me and dont go into the wildy unless you expect to lose everything, ive pked like 5 times lol :) :o
March 26, 200620 yr be like me and dont go into the wildy unless you expect to lose everything, ive pked like 5 times lol :) :o Maybe that happend because your a bad pker, most people like to pk and it could be very profitable. Most of the people on tip.it dont support luring, and I think luring is stupid. 75/80 Hitpoints | 81/85 Strength | 1/1 Pray | 1/1 Defense [Make Me Rich!] | [Brutal Ownage]
March 26, 200620 yr its whenever you get someone to go into the wild without them knowing you are going to kill them.
