RuneScape article 12th most edited on Wikipedia

Featured Replies

If you look at this page, you will see that the article about RuneScape is the 12th most edited, with over 7300 revisions and counting!

(Although, a lot of the edits are vandalism and reverts.)

Lol if you look at the holiday items it says that they're is a rumour about a Black Partyhat, which is not confirmed by Jagex, but apprently IS conformed by Mod Andrew.. Anyone know more about this?

99 Slayer since August 2007.

seems to be updated frequently (has a clip from last weeks quest)

there never was a black party hat because i looked for it in a hex editor and couldn't find anything (this was before rs 2)

I guess it makes sense since RS updates just about weekly while most other things don't update or are only a one time thing.

oo, like others have said, good find. just like misterxman said, its probably edited so much because of its ever-changing nature, what with the updates and all.

p.s.

george bush has twice as many edits as second place!!

XD

p.p.s.

while you're looking at the wiki entry for rs, take a quick look through the article. notice how overwhelmingly detailed it is. now you can look at the article and gain all the info you need to play the game!

here's my first post on the TIF (scroll to the bottom)

feel free to pm me, but do make sure that i know you're a Tip.It user (in other words, give me a HYT)

After lode released the first comprehensive item database just before legends it was pretty safe to say that there had been no black party hat.

Anyway nice find

Computers will never be above humans because we made them.

That's what monkeys used to say about us.

Just a reminder kids - Wikipedia should never be used as a stand alone source of information. It is evil.

In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothes

I bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal dose

I offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn

"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

Editwars? Or just an article of exceptional quality?

Unitedite: I'm afraid that just isn't true. Wikipedia is proof that god exists.

i didnt know you could see how many edits it'd had but it is a good guide it also has some good pictures like the 702 and stuff and alot of detailed description

lol yeah I did some editing there myself.

How many words are in all of the articles related to runecape. There must be thousands.

I will shoot down any one with my bitting wit, and sarcasm!

What POSSIBLE reason would someone have to make a fake like that?Does he profit from faking a picture like that? Does it help him at all?Jesus Christ, stop being so suspicious. This is Tip.it for God's sake, not RuneHQ. -_-

I thought this was quite interesting:

Jagex Moderator (J-Mod)

Jagex Moderators are employees of Jagex. There's one for every staff member, which consist of coders, script writers, graphic designers, and customer service members. In RuneScape, they are identified by a gold crown beside their name, visible during public chat (J-mods lack a friends list, and ultimately, a private chat). On RuneScape's official forums, their posts appear highlighted green (as with Forum Moderators) with the addition of the words "Jagex Mod" beneath their name. This applies to all staff members with the exceptions of the founders, Andrew, Paul, and Ian Gower. Jagex Moderators also have a number of additional abilities for playtesting purposes. It is confirmed that J-mods may change their stats as they like and generate items within their inventory. They are also known to possess a special "J-mod teleportation ability" which enables them to appear anywhere on RuneScape. They may not engage in combat nor trade, however, and their accounts do not appear in the high score tables.

As has been said above, it is probably editted 12th most because there are so many people playing it, there are so many updates, and it has grown so much over the last few years. It is an awesome manual though, Jagex should just use this for their 'Information Base'!

99/99 Fletching, 99/99 Cooking, 96/99 Strength

Never knew about the edit count, but I already knew Runescape has quite some entries in wikipedia [some monsters even have their own pages].

It'd be funny to have one of those pumped up Mod accounts. :o Where do I apply to work at Jagex?

Wikipedia loves Runescape!

I remember i edited a part of the article from the Spanish page

Most people dont play cuz of graphics, but graphics aren't everything :x

I'm not sure whether I should find that sad or good... It's pretty sad to see a game called RuneScape up there with all those famous people / happenings / etc.

weeee. shows how many loyal runescape fans and how many critics out there. well, i contributed a 'ittle part of it ( positive content ). all hail jagex!
