drokles
Read first: I was wondering if there were any Final Fantasy fans on these forums. If there are let me know. Tell which is your favourite and say 3 things that you love about it. End your reply saying what makes it so much better than the others. Of course u dont have to be as detailed as I was, but let us know what feel I'll start :D : I choose FF VII, and ive played I, II, III, VII, IX, X (guess u could call me a fan?): I The story of FF VII is spectacullar! It wont let og of you, it keeps you playing the game over and over again. The first time I played it I was truly amazed, i had a kinda insomnia just lying in bed thinking what whould happen next. II The miluea in the game is pretty outstanding too. From the slums of the great high-tech city midgar to the great glacier and deep down in the center of the planet. Every new place you reach in the game is uniquely thrilling and exciting! They've also managed to put alot of mood in the game, the people in the game each have their own character and soul, and im not just talking about Cloud, Barret, Tifa etc. everybody you meet effects the mood in game. III Then theres the music. The music really says it all! Its so brilliantly put together, it fits perfecly in the situation youre in. Sephiroths theme is just one of many great symphonies. The music really makes Sephiroth frightfull. When Aeris gets killed the music makes you feel like crap, you really feel like youre Cloud standing there watching. The thing that makes FF VII so unique compared to the others is definately Sephiroth! He's the most frightening bad guy ever made! From the first time you see him in the game your almost scared to death! (Maybe a little exaggerated, but u get the point.) Sephiroth is the ultimate evil, even when his name is only rarely heard from the very start of the game, you get a good picture of him. In the shinra biulding, where the bloodbath unfolds, is where i think the game really starts. Never can there be anyone superior to sephiroth! U get the picture? I'll get there!... eventually
japanese_buz
IMO, you haven't played Final Fantasy until you've played FF8. This game has got to be one of the best in the series.

I've heard it so many times, and ive always wanted to play that game, but never had the chance... :'( I'll get there!... eventually
japanese_buz
It's such an amazing game, with the exception of you can power level one character and pretty much own the game. The Tetra Master in FF8 is the best in the series period (With of course the exception of the full verion that came with FFXI!)
cadburys_egg
Id have to say... FFX-2 (Odd I know...) It has sheer versatility in it with choosing your job. I loved the new combat system, the old ATB on FF8, IMO sucked. I especially love the combo system, it allows quicker kills when you need it and can really improve the power. The story was quite gripping as well, you were always guessing who that mysterious strange was, there were some times when you knew it wasnt him and others when you questioned yourself about it. Bubsa
FF7 FTW. I've played everyone in the series bar 4 and 5 and every 6 months I just come back to playing this one. The first time I played it was just...wow. I had no idea playstations could do what they did, Squaresoft took gaming to a whole new level. The chocobo racing and all the brilliant minigames, the compelling story and the I-just-roundhouse-kicked-your-face graphics combine to make the best game in the series, as evidence by the release of the Advent Children movie and the up and coming spin-off game. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Lionheart_0
FFVI was my favourite. It had the best and one of the longest storylines to me, and i found the characters to be really deep (I.E. Shadow). It was very comical as well. I would have to say my second was FFX-2, just because of humor and the battel system owned every other one. Not to mention my Rikku fetish Final fantasy is probably the best series of games out there. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! Krazyck
FF8 is my favorte one as of yet... i also very much liked 6, and i bought the cartridge(ff3) for like $3 from a er.. acquaintance...(sp?) (score!) so yeah... FF8 is the best, ff6 for a close second.. i didnt really like the way the ff8 fighting system worked, i preferred the other games on that aspect, but story line, and music.. music is a big factor for me, if a game has crap music, its hard to enjoy the game fully.. ff6 had both of these elements as well~ 1543 Skill total, 100% F2P

Barihawk
FF3/FF6 takes the cake. Amano said it was his best art, and Nobuo Uematsu hails it as his best music. You can identify with Terra, loathe Kefka, and respect the minor characters like Leo. Not to mention FF7's boss battle has nothing on the Decisive Battle: 3 consecutive boss battles, then face Kefka in demi-god form without a break...ugh. The sidestories and character development is extreme. It's the only game that really goes into the backstory of ALL of the characters rather than just one or two. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley

BTW, thx for posting your favourites here, im gonna try some o' them out sometime keep on posting ;). I thought of something as for the old super nintendo FF's. How2PK
A little up, decided that was better than creating a new topic. I just started playing Final Fantasy VII, the first game I play in years. I borrowed the game and a Playstation (the original one) from a friend. It's a bit weird, but I think I want to finish it. Anybody got some tips for a starter? I never played a Final Fantasy game before. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! How2PK
What part are you up to Daan? I just got to the hideout and learned how to use materia, that's it. I'm a newbie. 8) And I decided to raise the maturity level so I named my character T3h P3n0r. 8) Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! adthegreat-
What part are you up to Daan? I just got to the hideout and learned how to use materia, that's it. I'm a newbie. 8) And I decided to raise the maturity level so I named my character T3h P3n0r. 8) You have a long way to go, but at least the mood will always be lightened by a little chuckle at 'T3h P3n0r' every now and then. My advice for you would be to learn your characters strengths and weaknesses and keep them in mind when fighting battles. Do you know any of the story line? I wish i hadnt read any spoilers before i played, but unfortunately i was young and naive and found out something about the plot that kind of ruined that part. If not i implore you to just keep playing and that no one in the topic tell him (If you've played ff7 you'll probably know what im talking about). On Topic: I think that FF7 is my favourite game of all time, it was at such a cool time in my life too. I have got FF8, but i hated the magic system so much i've never been past the first disk. FF10 is alot of fun, but it was a little easy. And i havent finished FF10-2.
How2PK
I haven't got any spoilers about the story so far, so that's cool. I'm really curious to discover it while playing though, everybody told me it was so good. I can't wait to find it out. I think I'll play tonight, after Barcelona Milan. :D Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! Bubsa
Cool, don't read it either, it's great finding out the game yourself. I guess at this early stage I'd advise to equip every materia possible to level them. They can pick up handy prices when levelled, especially the all materia you'll get in a bit. When you leave the hideout, go south and buy a fire materia from the man in the shop as well, it's a very useful materia. Don't overload one character with materia (ie. tank mage :P). Cloud and Barrett have great physical attacks, and too much materia may weaken them. Get a nice balance. Man, I wish I was playing FF7 for the first time again :P This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Barihawk
I'm sad that nobody really has been able to play the older Final Fantasies. What ticks me off is that Sony acquired the game and just shafted the remakes of the older ones. It's half-[wagon] jobs like that which led me to drop my PS2. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers.
