April 11, 200620 yr The more realistic the game is, the better in my point of view. Very well, we'll need to remove all the monsters and npcs that are not "realistic" including goblins, dragons, unicorns, giants, ogres, skeletons and ghosts. That should leave us with a lovely array of villagers, barbarians, knights, chickens and cows to kill. Then we'd have to remove any weapons and armour that were not "realistic" - nothing over steel then which would make smithing over level 50 redundant, and forget about dragonhide of any sort for rangers. We needn't worry about mage armour because there would be no mages, since magic isn't "realistic". No magic would mean we could also kill the runecrafting skill (which would make people wonder why it was called "Runescape"). No magic or dragonhide would make crafting useless as a skill. Farming would need to be made more "realistic" by making your crops take 6 - 12 months to grow. The sea voyage from Port Sarim to Karamja should take four hours instead of 20 seconds. Etc, etc, etc... Leave it the way it is. If I want "realistic" I won't play an online fantasy game. Eating a piece of fish to heal injuries... Reality at it's finest. RuneScape doesnt have a specific time period that it is supposed to take place in. Hell, maybe RuneScape is supposed to take place in present day, and its just behind it's time. If you're going to adress "faults" in the game, you ought to address them all. Thats what I'm trying to get people to elaborate. And whats that mean when translated into english...? ANOTHER THING TO ADD TO THE LIST: Once your character dies once, he is deleted. Harsh, yes, but its realistic. You dont know what elaborate means lol? Anyway... I'm off for the day. I think he knows what it means i think he means you used it wrong and stupidly. April 11, 200620 yr Camo... Back in thoes days, of England and the kings when they actually had armour "midevil times" I haven't seen one person with camo. I belive most of these items should be resigned and replaced with new. . (This probably belongs in rants?) firstly, i don't normaly critises this, but what happened to spelling? Do you mean medeval? And do you mean re-designed? It changes the meaning of what you are saying. Furthermore, what's with the obssesion with England - i hate to destroy the american camelot fantasy, but there were other countries (france and the federation of states now known as Germany) that were very similar in the broad un-academic scheme of things. Camoflauge was around at the time, just not in europe. In India and the far east, the idea of camoflauge, or the concept of blending into the background, was reasonably prevelant. The most often used example would be the ninja, who wore black to blend into the shadows. Camoflauge similar to that seen in the game was in use in india, with dirty, mudy colourations. FInanly, like everyone else has said, it's a game...it's not real, don't go the way of marteen if they don't turn camo into damasked battle armor. OK, bit off topic to start off with, but FuBai if you're going to criticise spelling you really need to ensure your post is flawless, you even misspelled the word you were trying to correct (medieval for future reference)... Anyway, back on topic if you want games based around reality HeatMaker there are a load of them out there, but really, you can't pick and choose what you deem to be reality "dragons are ok, but camouflage is far too unrealistic" :?: As others have said it's a fantasy game, enjoy it for what it is, or find something else to play.
April 11, 200620 yr In every history book i've read there were mages and giant dragons. Isn't history real? Don't try to attempt to get ahead of yourself now :D Didn't Animal Planet prove that dragons might have exsisted? I like how you put the words 'prove and 'might' in the same sentence. And look Runescape is not real. Go play some game where eerything is real like.. ummm.. um... hey i can't think if one! maybe because most real games aren't as fun as fantasy games? They said that people most likely found dinosaur bones and said AHHHHHA DRAGON!!!!!!!!!! Though a mighty big lizard is a possibility too. If you want to get a point across, as least spell the word you bold correctly. Not all relalistic things are fun, runescape can bend the rules a but to add some humour or excitement. Its a game, it doesn;t all matter
April 12, 200620 yr You lost your credibility to me at the word 'midevil'. I think it's clear to everyone that the creators of the game never intended to make this game a historical based game. The game is basically in my mind an extrapolation of what medieval times could have been in a fantastic world. 2480+ total
April 12, 200620 yr Sorry i guess sarcasm doesn't translate over the computer very well... You should have made it "In every history book i've read there were mages and giant dragons. *wink, wink*"
April 12, 200620 yr Do you mean medieval times or what? You think that the modern items in game don't fit in game? You missed the point that the game takes place in a fantasy world, thus doesn't have to be connected with real world in any way. I completly agree its a made up fantasy world that i love.  Qizx2- ArchmagePersonnumber100- Warlock for life.Would you?
April 12, 200620 yr what are u talking about?"no mages in the medevil times.." anyone ever here of "Merlin"?  Dagannoth Slayer
April 12, 200620 yr Well, first of all I know it doesn't say that it is midevil, so before you try to prove me wrong and say "oo, your a noob because you didn't read the whole 10 1/2 pages of the rules blah blah." Listen please... What I want to say is that, most of the new items in the game are spoiling the game. Because in my vision and thought of the game is midevil. What I mean by getting ahead of itself is: Example 1: Camo... Back in thoes days, of England and the kings when they actually had armour "midevil times" I haven't seen one person with camo. I belive most of these items should be resigned and replaced with new. I'm sure most of you know alot of items like this like the gadderhammer, colorful, maul rip off... The more realistic the game is, the better in my point of view. Everything is getting commercial now adays. Thank you for your time. (This probably belongs in rants?) "camo"'d armour has been around for a loooong time normaly used for ambushes and such but atempting to blend into the natural suroundings in order to gain a stratigical advantage isnt exactly a new concept. April 12, 200620 yr Author Yeap, glad to see everyone has their own point of view. http://www.soundclick.com/NinoBeats
April 12, 200620 yr i personally think camo adds flavor into the game but so what i makes the game more fun then regular. i mean how fun would rs be with out the sort of un medival things it adds spice..
April 12, 200620 yr i think camo adds to the game, they look cool. Plus, ahead of them selves, where did this idea of Carpentry and POH come from, JAgex never said they werent real updates and they know that people talk about them. so i hardly think there getting ahead of themselves... and i dont think they had Runecrafting, and slayer in Midevil times, and its not a medevil game anyways. :-\
April 12, 200620 yr you are able to talk to monkeys, camels and cats......its an RPG people, its not supposed to be tied down to anything in particular.
April 12, 200620 yr i toe the line with several of the posts in here. i do agree that jagex may be overstepping the line as to how far they can go, but its their game...they can do what they want =D the one thing that really bugged me was when rs2 came out, they changed the cannon...that really ticked me off bad, now it looks like some high tech cannon, rather than that kickin 8 barrel dwarf multicannon it used to be =D also..i just think it was rediculous(sp?) that jagex added a *RUBBER* chicken to the game...thanks fer readin

April 12, 200620 yr runescape getting ahead of itself? it's a game! it's supposed to be fictuitous! if u wanted it to be realistic, then the game wouldnt exist. almost every aspect of it is fake! people taking on bears and leaving without a scratch? giant beetles under beds?? diamonds cut with a measly chisel?!?! rocks wit images allowing magic to be used? chill! it's a game, either love it or leave  (sry, too much caffeine) Requiescat in pace, Shiva "Anarith" Kumar.351 Quest Points|99 Strength|99 Attack|99 Constitution|99 Defence|99 Magic|138 Combat|99 Summoning|99 Slayer|99 Ranged|99 Firemaking|99 Dungeoneering|99 Cooking|99 Prayer|99 Runecrafting|99 Smithing|99 Fletching|99 Construction|99 Farming|99 Fishing|99 Herblore|99 Crafting|99 AgilityTrue friends are never separated by distance, for they are forever linked by their hearts.Join the HYT CLAN![qfc]90-91-310-65710712[/qfc]
