Umega
For people that are buying items: it's good news. For people trying to sell items: it's bad news. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
meb
You should check out the runescape rares forum; there' only 3 people buying on the entire page. Santas adn masks have dropped by 2m, and the lesser phats are also dropping. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. vdevilv
Once the exitment of the new skill goes away, things will go back to normal. Things cost less now becuase sellers are finding it hard to sell anything atm and dropping their price so some1 would buy it.
imaerehw14
buyers for whips are going steady at 2.4-2.5m sellers for whips are remaining steady at 2.65-2.8 dharock is down to 4.5m (all prices that i stated were last night and could have changed by then)

nick2k5
i dont really merchant so im happy, taking advantage of the 2.5k each per mahagony log, but its just the overinflation of every construction item....that balances out the already overinflation of items like whip, even though its the best weapon in the game, the prices were still a tad bit high....2.5mil is now a respectable price for it... lucasesco
yes i agree when the fever is up constrcution is draining million bazillions of gp out of the game, probably in the 100 millions. Anyways even though the fever will be gone, the skill is still a huge drain of gp out of the economy. Jagex set up the price to stop the inflation IMO but it's quite obvious as well. One month later construction will still keep draining millions from the economy as no matter what you wanna do the game takes money off you. This idea to incorporate deflation into POH's was genius on Jagex's part. Not only can we make our houses look cool and expensive because everything costs so much, but inflation problems are being OWNED :P . I hope Warrior Rings don't drop though, I still have to sell mine from the SODB DK trip :x . n64jive
i think they are going to go down even more, no one has got 99 yet, and very few are at 60...soon as someone gets 99 and a bunch of ppl get 60...everybody is going to want the demonic throne
Satenza
Meh, i just got a Santa for 2 mill under its current price. Satty is happy. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
adzino
Yes, inflation has been stoped. Alot of cash has been drained from the game. We, 85 Slayers, just got ruined. Making any profit from it is just really hard. The drop rate is really low, and they sell for 2-2.2mil now. Thats quite sad for me, since i only got 2 whips since i hit 85 Slayer. Sure, stoping the inflation is good, but people who worked hard for this skill just got owned :( Good job Jagex, the skill is awesome
joke_slayer
from what i read in the rs rants forums jagex made a great job with the money sink even f2p has suffered: varrock world 1 prices for yews went from 270-300ea to 250-260ea, and i even saw someone selling a purple phat for 40 mil    too bad i only had like 5 mil anyway id better start saving if i want to get a decent house: do you recon you need to spend like 50mil to lvl up from 1 to 99 and buy the best items while getting the materials yourself ? yomom1919
like everyone says, the item prices will eventually go back up soon. its simply a craze, and merchants will have a ton of fun on this one.
HatshepsutLecter
figures that the price of a whip would go down to 2.2 mill right after i buy mine for 3 mill. :P The Internet: where men are men, women are men, and children are the FBI.First Dragon Drop 5/6/2006 -Dragon Med from Bronze Dragon :DFirst Barrows Item From Chest 2/20/2007 - Verac's Brassard :D
hearse
I'm just going to sit idly by while I wait for prices to recooperate. All my buyers are just working on their houses. They have all given the statement that they will continue to buy and for the same price. Let it pass.. The only reason this makes me angry is because I have to wait a week or so to sale my gold ores so I can start my house. I love the idea and Jagex has poured SO much into the update. Notice how everything isn't "equalized" in the experienced or seperated from least to greatest on the in-game Construction help guide (when you click on construction thing in Skills panel.)? bflitny1
I think Jagex might actually have overdone the whole deflation thing, they should have aimed to keep prices steady, not to cut them in half. Still, something had to be done, we'll probably see Jagex drop construction costs in the next few days so that prices don't continue to fall so rapidly, I hope they do! Drops: Barrows: 60+ DK: 4... Dragon: 60+ Whips: 2... GWD: 0...ouch!Main Goal: 2000 total with no 99's

Markets always overshoot in one direction or another in the short run. Once the hype is over, things will gradually return back to normal. Just look at how the nails market behaved in the last few days and you'll be relieved.
