June 8, 200620 yr The song A Midnight Gathering by Haggard, the outro to their And Thou Shalt Trust The Seer album, is highly addictive for me. Its composition is very simple. The song starts with a very constant and very deep drumming, followed by the sound of horns blowing in the distance. At about 30 seconds a light flute begins playing, and after that the choir kicks in, and the rest of the song is pretty much alternating between choir and flute, with the drums constantly playing in the background in the same rythm. It's very haunting, yet for some reason very soothing at the same time.
