I help people when I have time to. But I can't be nice all of the time.

 

 

 

I'll answer ANY questions, but I'm not going to go and have a drop party each day for new users.

While I don't want to sound like a scroodge, I don't give free items to players for the same reason that you're not supposed to feed animals at the zoo. It will encourage begging. What I would do is show them ways to make money instead. But, it's always nice to get free stoofs.

Lol I still go around every now and then when im on runescape and give a newb here and a newb there some full iron or a mith weapon. Or 10k if im in a really nice mood.

Back in my early smithing days, I'd just make full sets of bronze/iron/steel for xp and drop them in lumby every week or so, twas nice. :P

back when was i was a noob a guy gave me like 3 sets of bronze..i was like in love with that guy after that :mrgreen:

i usually try to help peeps, but sometimes they just bother me for more stuff, just only answer questions and lead em on the right path.

I did this for a lvl 103 while I was getting planks about 2 weeks ago. Made me feel nice. :wink:

 

 

Also sometimes When I'm in a good mood I'll walk around with a full inventory of full Iron Bronze and Steel sets and drop em' around Lumbridge for the new people.

Once this guy gave me like 500 iron bars in a trade. I made a lot of iron aets and dropped them in Lumby. One guy thought someone "hax" Jagex and made iron sets lol :lol:

Sometimes I help people with quests. :D

when i was f2p I didnt have anything to do, so i walkied around and helped people with quests. Now I am P2P and there arent as many people every day

I help all the time, I just never post about it. I really only tell people where to go and stuff but I give drop parties for f2p when I have extra stuff.

I help people out daily. I don't too oftenly give free items, unless it is related to a skill I am training, such as a few free addy ores here... 10k there, nothing huge. I think that the more you help people, the more likely you will be helped when you need it... karma. It also helps you to become well known, and respected. :D

I have to dissagree for the most part. While giving away free stuff to needy people sounds rewarding and heart warming, it really isn't. I just spent the last hour or so giving away 20 sets of iron to low levels in lumby. Though I did it through trades, not dropping. And I must say, it's more work then it's worth, and it's not worth much except for your own satisfaction.

 

 

 

Every trade I was meet with low levels not responding, or trying to give me random junk for the full iron. It was really annoying to the point where I yelled out. "God, can't a guy do a good dead!" I would have just dropped it all, but I wanted to give full sets to people who were training hard, and working hard. And after giving all theses iron sets away, what do I get. Not a single thankyou from 1. Hell, I didn't even get an abbreviated ty, or a thanks, nada, nothing, nothing at all. I'm telling you, that's the last time I give out free things, the very last time.

i gave a lvl 30 about 50k... and he followed me about 60 minutes and sad thx about 1mil times... bttr thx then plz 1mil times...

Being nice does feel good :P . I gave a new player 5k and now we because good friends and I help him out with quests. Its always worth it if you make a friend in the process. (And not "friends" who just wants more money out of you :? )

That's happened to me so much.. It's discouraging when you like to give players some items that you don't need..

 

Sadly, those are the only people I've met.. I would usually give them a couple oaks (All I had at the time, lol.) and I thought well they could sell them.. I wouldn't get a thank-you, they'd asked to be friends, then they would spam my private chat for more stuff, every minute I'm on..

 

Defiently discouraging..

I like to give lower-level players (I'm a 46) extra stuff sometime, like cash; I also like to give away food when I'm getting Fishing XP, and I'll give it to pretty much anyone.

 

 

 

Anyway, I'm gonna try making armor and giving it away in Lumby soon. :D

But I also have a friend who tries to get some stuff outta me, but he does'nt spam me private chat for it. I already gave him a Blessed Holy Symbol and full steel. Now I think he will stop for a while, he pked someone and got a maple shortbow. ^^ (And oh yeah, we're both F2P)

I started giving out any stuff i didnt need to newer players to the point of giving away full addys, addy picks and hatchets, basically anything under rune.

 

But i have had to stop this due to the amount of constant spam i get in my private, saying "hey remember me, you got any more free stuff" yada yada yada, the minority will always spoil it for the majority.

 

I now only tend to speak to the people that i met at the start of my time in rs, and generally to higher lvl players than me that i have asked to help me with something.

I enjoy helping people and i will always do it, but almost 22% of all accounts are multi's...
