It will last as long as Jagex are making a decent profit, they will carry on making a decent profit as long as they have paying members, as long as they bring out DECENT updates , it will last a long time

I'm guessing that it will last until Jagex makes a better version of the game. RS3 anyone?

Pirate Rosetta stone. Learn a language while you scape.

Sounds interesting, but these days how many people really speak Pirate?

To be honest, I wouldn't care if it ended anytime soon. I can live without it. It's only getting worse with all of the new players and little kids ruining the economy and fun of the game. Scammers, Hackers, and immature kids calling everyone noob takes the fun out of the game.

I would hate the game if it went to p2p only, Besides the will get way less costumers to.

that means the p2pers get better treaten ad jagex dont spoil there time to f2pers so people that apy getsomtihng and people that dont get get nothing

f2p arent customers if that's what you mean.

Although some people want f2p to go, I doubt it will because very few people go straight to p2p liek the guy quoted said (I think? :P )

Since they are making so much money for us members, I don't see the game coming to an end any time soon. And, since the free version is the best advertisment for the p2p version, I don't see any reason for getting ending the free version.

It's going to end when Bubsa becomes King of the World and Bans all types of entertainment and fun. Next year, Im guessing.

Everything ends, including runescape. It wont end soon though, somewhere in the future. As long as Jagex are making profits they will contnue.

It's hard to say that it will end sometime soon. But yeah, everything has an end so there will be a day when it will end.

I don't think they will make it P2P only.

Thanks to WithTheQuickness for the sig!

Until Andrew Gower retires, then he shuts down RS. (and by the $$$ hes making, he might retire 20 years ealier  )

i dont think it will stop for at least another 10 years because more and more people are becoming members because of all the p2p updates.

as long as there are members there will be runescape

gesmf9.jpg

It will end someday of course, although hopefully not anytime soon. I can easily go without it, but I would like it to stay. :)

It will not become P2P only. There is F2P to catch peoples interest and make them become P2P, it is like a preview/advertiement. They might stop updating F2P though, not that they update it too often anyways. The stopping of F2P updates and increase of P2P skills, items, quests, and such will lead to F2P players wanting to become P2P. I don't really see why the Gowers would retire and close Runescape... they have enough money to retire as it is, lol. They don't want to be hated by well over 200 000 people. :|

Keep it coming Jagex. :D

I agree with you completely.. people like you and me are rare now. :(

Everywhere I go... I try so hard to be nice, I do things for people, I help them... I expect nothing in return but a thankyou, and I don't even get that. I get a 'ty' if I'm lucky, they don't even bother to type thankyou now. If I'm unlucky, they won't appreciate what I've done and will bother me incessantly for more.

i agree with both of you totally.. i'm bothered most of the time when they (noobs) asking for more and more stuff..

yea it will come to an end i say in about 10 years

he will of course let his son take over (if he has or has the potential to get one :P).

Besides, if you're making loads of money, why would you retire? There is no "enough" when it comes to money. Many hollywood stars could retire today right now, and live their whole lives out without working.

It's impossible to say when RS will end, but it will end eventually; "All good things must come to an end" and all that jazz.

How it ends is of most interest to me; will it peter off and fizzle off the Internet, like RSC is doing? Will it all just disappear one day? Will it simply evolve into something completely different and unrecognizable as today's RS, and if it does, will it be a gradual change or something sudden? Most importantly, will any of us be recompensed for the in-game wealth we've acquired and the time investments we've made? Well, my Magic 8-Ball just laughed at me on that last one (as I'm sure most of you are), but still...

In short: Yes, it will end, no, we have no way of knowing when or why, though chances are good that we'll still be playing for at least a few more years, if not decades.

it will end buddy, and even if it doesnt end in 100 years time, your life and my life will.

Updates might stop one day, when the developers seriously run out of ideas. But that doesnt mean the game itself will be instantly shut down. As long as there is a sufficient number of players to keep the game servers running, RS wont end. At least not anytime soon.
