Yes that's right! I'm asking for the ability to put 2 RSN in your profile for people to view, and for them to be able to click the name(s) to view both character's stats.

 

 

 

Many of us have pures (even two main characters) and it would be great if we were able to put 2 names in our profile and have both those characters, stats able to be viewed. Rather than picking and choosing! :P

 

 

 

And if you were worried about people abusing this feature and putting an absurd amount of RSN names in their profile, than you would surely be able to put a cap on it? Like 3 names maximum? :wink:

EDIT: I was thinking a feature for this which would make it work would be to, make a comma be the seperating margin for both RSN names, so you could code it to recognise it. I hope that makes sense! :oops: :P

Well , as its a relatively new feature , I'm going to let it stand as is for a while and see how much demand there is for adding to it.

Firstly: It isn't unorganised in any way this new RSN option, and there is plenty of room underneath for optional RSN's underneath each other if Albosky decideds to include this feature in. And plus how will many people be confused with the fact that there is two RSN's shown in the profile option? All Albosky has to add is "(s)" after the "RSN" in the profile option.

 

 

 

Secondly: Sticking to one name/character is totally irrelevent as this thread's purpose is asking for the option to have 2 RSN's in the profile option.

 

 

 

Whether or not having 2 RS characters is the right thing to do, is irrelevent in this situation, and it is a fact, that tens of thousands (if not more) RS players have more than 1 account out there (incl. my self) (as there is hundreds of thousands of pures in the game). So having this feature would be a pleasent addition for many tip.iter's out there to use.

Having that split will allow people to express themselves about how they feel a game should be played without any awful/bad arguing!

I think it's a little too much. Just do it like it was done before, listing your characters in your profile. List that you have extra characters in it. If more slots are added, when should it stop? Why only two? Why only three? It's fine with just one main - any extras you could just put in your profile.

Heh, I see someone is not getting the point. Putting the RSN's elsewhere in your profile is a SURE-FIRE way to not get them looked at and noticed. By having them on the side and clickable, at least then they can't be ignored, especially if a discussion gets started and the alternates (which could be same style as the main) come into play in the discussion. And that's only 1 example. :wink:

It isn't your code either way. :? Jagex wrote it, it's publicly available, it's already used by several IRC bots, the Tip.It calcs and countless other scripts and websites.

 

 

 

Even if you had never found out how, sevearl hundred (if not thousands) of other people already knew how over the past few years.

If we can have two in our profiles why not 3... or 4 or 5....... you can go on forever. Keep it as just the one. If you want any more then tuff. You can only ever play on one at any one time anyway.

Because I'm not asking for that many. And plus he could put a limit of 2 or 3 max for the amount of RSN we want in there (It's not going to take much effort to add that feature).

 

 

 

And also why would it affect you in anyway if we had this option? Why do you go to such an extent to post back on a thread like this? :roll: It wouldn't affect you (especially as you don't play rs anymore), only positive would come out of an update like this, which would be coming from the ones in favour of this addition to the RSN profile option. :wink:

Everytime you add something like this there is another database call for each page. It seems a complete waste of resources for something so pointless

Hardly.

 

 

 

It's just a simple sql query to check if the field isn't the default value :uhh:

 

SELECT count(rsn_field) FROM `phpbb_users` WHERE `rsn_field` != "default_value";

If you were really tricky, you could allow multiple names, comma-dilimited, and just have the PHP work through it if there's a value set.

 

 

 

Would take about 5 seconds to write for anyone who knew what they were doing.
