I've hit 5 times in a row with my magic longbow and rune arrows with special. And then the special bar finished.

 

 

 

The the bar recharges but if you unwield your weapon and attach another it still recharges.

 

 

 

I don't think it's a bug, could you explain it further? :-k

 

 

 

There is really no explaining to do. The magic shortbow's special uses 6/10 of the special bar, leaving 4/10 left, meaning the bow would have to recharge two before it could shoot a special again.

 

 

 

It has to be bug abuse.

 

its 55% not 60%, it even says it on the site somewhere. i've done 2 msb specs in like 10 secs before, all you need is extreme luck for the spec to charge that fast.

I'm neither a staker, pker, or a big fan of range. I just remember whenever I use a MSB special, it makes 6/10 of the bars disapear, so I was just trying to come up with something :wink:

 

 

 

It still doesn't make sense that his opponent got to use the special attack twice in two different duels and he didn't. If there isn't something he/she did to get that advantage, then it isn't bug abuse... But If there is someway to make it so you can always spec twice, it would have to be bug abuse. Just the fact that he/she could, and the topic creater couldn't makes it seem like a bug since they both spec'd at the same time and should have both recharged at the same time.

I did. :P And I think I remembered what I was thinking of wrong... or the pker thought the same thing I said.

The special bar regenerates at a set pace. The Magic shortbow special has a 55% drain rate. If you were to track the set pace of this then it would be possible to fire one arrow, have the special recover from 45% to 55% and then fire a second snapshot.

 

So what the hell is going on? I reported her for bug abuse, I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Was I right to report her?

This can be used to an advantatge by specialing at the start of the fight then after the restore moment happened special again. It's smart and I like how she investigated on how she could perfectly time this to her advantatge. People that work harder should win more and so she did :D I'm glad that some investigation has helped people out more then for a better timing of certain things in wild like it does for me.

If I read that right I'm pretty sure that's it. Here's what happened:

 

 

 

She specialed, losing 55% special energy.

 

 

 

She timed it so perfectly that the set time for a 5% recharge was exactly after her shot, thus bringing her to a 50% special energy within 3 seconds of the start of the fight.

 

 

 

15 seconds later (it takes exactly 5 minutes to fully recharge one's special bar) another 5% energy was added to the bar, thus bringing her to a 55% special energy, allowing her to take another special shot. Even with 1 def and 46 hp, I bet the fight could have lasted 15-20 seconds, thus making this possible, and NOT bug abuse.

 

 

 

Though this wasn't bug abuse, I'd bet she had a timer next to her comp to help her own you perfectly :P .

Jagex preset the interval for recharging the special bar

 

 

 

For example

 

 

 

They set it to recharge 10% of the bar at every 10th sec, regardless of whether the bar is full or not. If its full , it dont add. It do not start the timer after u use the special.

 

 

 

Therefore if he shot a special at the 9th second, the bar will recharge 1 sec later, thus allowing the person to shoot 2 straight special at you.

 

 

 

Its either pure luck, or she use a stopwatch or something lol

^ Exactly. For all I know then recharge could be anywhere between 1-5% at a time, since the bow is a 55% recharge (thus making it impossible for the intervals to just jump up by 10% ever 30 seconds).

Erm, like I said to someone earlier, we already came to that conclusion earlier in the post.

 

 

 

I originally believed they both spec'd at the same time, then she recharged before him and spec'd again. It actually turns out he didn't spec right away meaning it most likely wasn't bug abuse and she did have time to recharge.

Just like when your stats restore, or when poison hits you, it's on a timer for each person. Your opponent just got lucky ... It was timed perfectly that his\her special restored right after shooting. It took 55%, leaving him\her with 45%, and I believe the specials bar restores in increments of 10%.

Sounds like bug abuse to me... I saw this guys pk video and he got killed by this dude who did 2 maul specials within like less than a second apart.

 

 

 

Maul HAS 2 specs... And with a lil' buggy thing (Press special when your enemy dies - then wait till special bar is full) you can get 3 specs :$ I think it's only available for maul.

It visually uses 6/10 of the bar yes, but in reality its 55%. Its like that with many weapons. (Notice how a dragon dagger special drains bar.. 3, 2, 3, 2.. MSB is 6, 5, 6, 5, etc).
