Who remembers this !?

If you'd read the thread Cdub, you could read all the reasons why this particular aspect of the game was better than it was now.

You just don't like not being a part of a group of people who could appreciate it.

I remember a mod going into a bank, and dressing like a banker and saying "Muhahaha time to scam your items" it was funny.

I'm not sure what makes you think I didn't play RSC. If you'd read my post "Me_Hate_Libs", you could read how I did in fact play RSC. If you want to be a pseudo-witty person, and analyze my actions, please take the time to formulate a semi-intelligent deduction.

Nah. Things like this is what made the game a lot more special compared to now, and if you weren't playing back then you don't deserve the privilidge of having a real close community and strong interaction between players and mods.

Wow. Generally, I can handle the occasional foolish-RSC-player pride. But this is insane. You claim that the original community was so great, so pure. And for the most part, I'd say the community WAS better back then. But it wasn't some perfect utopia you LOVE to make it out to be. The way you behave now is just disgusting. You're so caught up in your idiotic, over-inflated ego, you've forgotten the key aspect of a kind and helpful community: acceptance. Now, you are speaking condesendingly of RS2 Products, many of which have been more helpful, and gone on to do greater things than a large percent of the RSC population has done. You are no better than them, or vis a versa. Who are you to deny them happiness, to BLATANTLY deny them acceptance? They did not "ruin" the community, people like you bashing them did. They have just as much a right to experience a friendly atmosphere as any original player.

Frankly, it's people like you that make RS2ers say, "You know what? With jerks like this, the community back then probably wasn't all that great". So quit your gloating and get over yourself.

You're not special, you're self-deceived.

Go cdub! Tell em'!! I'm sick of people talking about how good RSC community was, and you know what, maybe it was BUT YOUR EGO's ARE F'ing HUGE!! I mean common, I KNOW I have\had an ego problem, but I'm working on it...

Cdub, ownage... but besides that I started like one week after bunny-ears came out and even then I played to lvl 13 and quit. Then I came back in 2004 and have played since. So, I can't say I remember those days

ive been playing since early '02 and i never remember jagex holding drop parties or acting like tree's..

i do, however, remeber jagex teleing 'abusers' to the mod offices and questioning them and all, and depending on their responses, either ban them, let them live eternity in the mod office(a square room with nothing in it), or letting you off with a warning.

I also remember andrew and paul going around actually caring if their update was good or not, and if it wasnt a good update, then they changed it to make it more appealing...

or also they report all the updates and there was none of this hidden updates [cabbage]

I started a month after RS2 came out... to bad thats when the community went sour because it was more appealing(not a bad thing for jagex....$$). But anyway, I had an RSC account and I went there, it was sooo hard to make money, a few high levels gave me some gp(like 1.5k but it was alot in that version) too bad I never played again.

Utopia? Can I take my guess out of illiterate, blind, or just plain dumb. NOWHERE did I say it was a "utopia" that I loved with all my heart. I said it was a much closer community, which is true, and that's it.

Now there's one thing I've never had. That's one sentance I can throw straight out. It's nice and all that you can assume things but I know, and my friends will know too, that I have next to no sort of ego at all. I think you honestly need to just relax a little. If a simple opinion like that can get you so fired up, I'd hate to see you at a debate or something lol.

Oh so happiness comes from seeing a Jagex Mod? Alright. And denying them it? Lol, nice. You think I'M denying them that chance? You'd better take a look around the F2P servers, and some of the P2P. The only people that are denying them that chance are the players themselves. Let's picture a Jagex Mod going to a fishing spot, say, Barbarian Village on a f2p world. "Hey crown rnt u a jagex mod???" would be one of the many questions they'd recieve upon arrival. I'm sure the mod would love that.

I have no problem with the RS2 Players who contribute to the community. Infact, some of them are my friends. But the community as a whole is quite poor. But hey, don't let it keep you up at night. Oh and also, I should probably add that my first post was directed at the person I quoted, not everyone. I just have a problem with him, don't let it happen with you too. We wouldn't want that now, would we? My apoligies to you (and your fan club) if it appeared as though it was directed at all, and upon reading it again it may look like that, but it depends on how you interepretate it.

Perhaps you should choose your words more carefully in the future. If you have a problem with someone, PM them as opposed to insulting them on a thread. And while you're editing, consider changing (in addition) the part where you insult the F2P community. I put it in bold for you.

Lol, now you're trying to force your opinions on me and make me change what I said? Nah, I'm fine. Besides, if you actually read what I said you'd see I never insulted the F2P community. But in regards to changing what I said...since when was I not allowed to telling the truth? Are you going to say that not all F2Pers act like that, and they've put more effort into everything blah blah blah. You know it's damn true that if a mod went into F2P they'd be hoarded with questions 'til the cows came home.

so it was directed @ me? cool, i dont care. the rs2 community may not be as good as the rsc community but theirs this thing where...well who gives a damn about people you will never seen agian? oh wait? am i contributing to the "bad" rs2 community reputation.

maybe the RSC community and stuff was tons better, but the thing is thing evolve, maybe not for the best but it HAPPENS, the dodo is extinct because it couldnt evolve (that and it was stupid)

rsc = good, rs2 = better. so we sacrificed the populations good manners for better gaming quality. i think i can handle that for now.

Dang it, man, know you got me remebering stuff. ;(

Mith use to be as good as rune..the best armour.

Party Hats were virtually nothing. :(

Random stuff was dropped, like keys and bronze, and in RSC you couldnt run, so all you see is the people walking over as fast as they can trying to pick up drops. :)

I remember that.

I remember paul and andrew used to come on and ask the players what they thought of the updates.

Mods always used to hang around crowded areas (Catherby fishing spot) Where various mods used to walk on water (Mod Daniel was most famous for this) when I saw him in RS2 I asked if he could still do it and he said no because paul had taken his arm bands away :(

I remember seeing Paul a few times early RS2 around new updates although I still do speak to him in game via pm I don't think he goes to the new update places any more.

what r arm bands?

I agree with Cdub. RS1 was nice, but many seem to over exagerate it massivley. Remember the auto problem? Many players not even made for autoers did it. Auto programmes were made in RS1 its not a paradice, and never was. It was fun, an it was nicer with more interaction. Just remember how it really was.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Word. Rs2 right now is just so bland. I go on and every world has 1500+ people, with like 200k people playing at once. Most of my really good friends quite playing, and it's just so hard to make good new ones. I remember I used to always play on server 13, for like 6 months untill I get members. I knew probly half the people that always were on that world because it was almost like a seperate community. Now it's hard to find that connection.
