Muntrue
hmm, this just popped in my head. im not sure how many people remember it. i just remember it vaguely but here goes :) Who remembers the day when jagex was more involved with us players, and the old runescape forums were still up. One mod decided to play a little trick on us. he would turn into a tree and sit in falador garden. if no'one would cut him down until it reached a specific time he would do a massive drop party or something in that spirit. I remember how there were 100+ people consistantly screaming to not cut it down.. but it cut down anyways.. Anyone remembers this ?
king_dharok
lol, if everybody should scream: do not cut!!!, do you know what i would do?? i should have cut it down lol
jessy87
they need to do that again, but with meaningless items. not like party hats but like arrows and elemental runes.
Cazwise
they need to do that again, but with meaningless items. not like party hats but like arrows and elemental runes. Nah. Things like this is what made the game a lot more special compared to now, and if you weren't playing back then you don't deserve the privilidge of having a real close community and strong interaction between players and mods. How many runescape players does it take to change a lightbulb?50.1 to change the bulb and the other 49 to complain about how it was better before.THE MODS THERE ARE COMPLETE AND UTTER IDIOTS!So why are you here? DarkDude
It was good back on RSC, and early RS2 aswell. I remember paul and andrew used to come on and ask the players what they thought of the updates. Mods always used to hang around crowded areas (Catherby fishing spot) Where various mods used to walk on water (Mod Daniel was most famous for this) when I saw him in RS2 I asked if he could still do it and he said no because paul had taken his arm bands away :( I remember seeing Paul a few times early RS2 around new updates although I still do speak to him in game via pm I don't think he goes to the new update places any more. ValaraZ
noone remembers this specific event ? :) ah well =) It were the glory days for me.. community was good. its still good now.. but different It's only good if you stay out of the crowded places and hang around in yanille or elf place. :? Allthough the p2p community seem to have gotten better lately there's still stuff they need to improve in order to make it good. Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant: "If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor.
MD666
Personally, I think we need a premium members sort of account that costs, say, $10 per month. Only hardcores would pay it, and hey presto, a new community where things like this are allowed to happen. Just like the good old days which I don't remember due to me being a noob... ahh those were the days...
elucin8er
I remember Paul at lvl 123 in his pretty red shirt, hehe. I also remember just 4 worlds to choose from, although I am aware of the single world before that. Naturally at those times Paul and Andrew were more invloved in the game as they had few clients to attend to. Good ol' days, I miss em :( Proper Daily blogging including Starcraft 2! jbruton69
yes I remember back when everything was still personal, when andrew and all the mods would walk amongst the players and survey on how everyone liked the game and actually have in depth talks with them about it....those were the days

Wow. Generally, I can handle the occasional foolish-RSC-player pride. But this is insane. You claim that the original community was so great, so pure. And for the most part, I'd say the community WAS better back then. But it wasn't some perfect utopia you LOVE to make it out to be. The way you behave now is just disgusting. You're so caught up in your idiotic, over-inflated ego, you've forgotten the key aspect of a kind and helpful community: acceptance. Now, you are speaking condesendingly of RS2 Products, many of which have been more helpful, and gone on to do greater things than a large percent of the RSC population has done. You are no better than them, or vis a versa. Who are you to deny them happiness, to BLATANTLY deny them acceptance? They did not "ruin" the community, people like you bashing them did. They have just as much a right to experience a friendly atmosphere as any original player. Frankly, it's people like you that make RS2ers say, "You know what? With jerks like this, the community back then probably wasn't all that great". So quit your gloating and get over yourself. You're not special, you're self-deceived. chad8710
well i didnt play in the old times but when i read things like this that say how much more mods were involved, maybe it would be kind of nice to actually have a conversation with someone that is affiliated with jagax. Maybe it would just make the game a little better if you could actually talk with jagax mods and maybe even just see them now-a-days
