Assuming you have the required teletablets or house portals, you can get around runescape easily with EVERY spell set. Some have distinct advantages over others though.

 

 

 

Note: These pictures only show the teles that use runes (from the spell book) and house portals/teletablets. The ancient mage markers on my map might be off as I haven't used them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

PROS:

 

-Quick access to most places as you don't need to wait for your house to load.

 

-Only modern as tele to Ape Atol

 

-Having modern allows you to use high alch.

 

 

 

CONS:

 

-Fremmy province (if you don't have your house there) and Gnome Stronghold take longer to get to.

 

-No wilderness teles, but that isn't too bad.

 

 

 

 

 

 

PROS:

 

-Fast access to most F2P areas and wilderness.

 

 

 

CONS:

 

-You have to bear through house loading times to get to the western map, and even then your teles are limited.

 

-No high alch.

 

 

 

 

 

 

PROS:

 

-Fast access to a lot of the western map as well as Fremmy province.

 

-Ice plateau tele is good for a high wildy clue there, as well as getting to the wildy agility arena.

 

-Quickly switch back to modern magics by moonclan teleing.

 

 

 

CONS:

 

-To get to F2P areas you have to go through house loading times.

 

-No high alch.

 

-No combat spells.

course jagex always tries to balance everything so a favorite magic spellbook is only up to personal preference

well that looks all good and dandy but maybe u could put dots representing all(all spells, modern, lunar,house,anceints) in one pic .

I was thinking it would look a little crowded and confusing if I did that.

 

 

 

But it might work on a bigger map. Never thought about that. I might have to do that later.

funny how we all have our habits :P lol

 

I always use lumby tele to grab the glider.

Here it is so far. I had to shrink it a little so I could make the 1.5mb or less requirement for imageshack. Without the shrinking it's 1.8mb.

I still need to add a legend and maybe one or two boat routes or fairy rings I missed. The very annoying part was that the map wasn't updated at all. I had to copy, paste, and grayscale Dragontooth Island, Pest Control, Mos LeHarmless, and Pictoris.

CONS:

My house only takes about 2 seconds to load. I stripped it down to just an altar, the 6 teleports, and a quest hall with glory amulet... The more rooms and more things you have built, the longer the load times are. So if you just want your house to be useful, and not look good, I suggest stripping it down and this wont be a con at all.

Extremely nice map! There's also a boat from Karamja (south of Cairn Island, indicated with the tele sign), where you can go to Port Khazard and Port Sarim.

 

Not sure if this counts aswell, but there's also the teleport to Port Sarim jail via. the Shantay Pass using that trick.

I tried your suggestion to return to modern magic from lunar (used the Moonclan Telly) but did not switch back.
