August 8, 200619 yr Jewelry can always be melted down and sold on the precious metal market, one of my mums necklaces has roughly doubled in price due to gold increasing in value . But, then as a investment it is much wiser to buy precious metal in bar form. One advantage of jewelry is that it can hold its value against inflation. But then, bar metal also holds its value, just looks less fancy. Might have a potential to be used to avoid gift duty taxes. It is smarter to spend large amounts of money on jewelry then expensive brand clothing which are mostly made out of relatively inexpensive materials. You can also buy 'golden' most items not just jewelry. This is rather pointless. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewicast06lures.html
August 8, 200619 yr Its a well known fact women cant tell the diffrence between a real gold necklace and a $1 fake! So why buy a real one when you can buy a fake one plus a new tv ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002
August 8, 200619 yr I hope that when I (hopefully) get proposed to, he gives me one of those 25 cent plastic rings from a little machine :DLike in Bill and Teds Bogus Journey ^_^ I dont really like jewelry, its nice to see a few rings and the odd necklace on a girl but i hate the whole "bling" stuff that lots of people (mostly chavs) wear these days. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã12.99 tat from Argos. August 8, 200619 yr I got a modest silver ring from my friends. I think jewelry is nice, and sure you can spend some money on it, when you have the money for it. I also think it's stupid how some people say "You don't express your love trough jewelry" and so, a piece of jewelry in a good relation is a symbol of your love, not a symbol of your wallet. Don't be so cynical about everything. I'm not promoting big rings with huge stones BTW. I prefer more modest jewelry, but if people think bigger things look better that's their choice of course. August 8, 200619 yr If i had to spend a couple thousand pounds on a present, it would be a holiday - an experience both of us could enjoy over a few weeks, rather than a material posession that just sits there. The only piece of jewellery i own is a ring which cost me about ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã5, i wear it every day and i really don't care about how much it cost. Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.
August 8, 200619 yr Alright... I was really negative before, so I'll revise myself slightly. I think that if you have a friend or partner who likes jewelery... then getting them jewelery is fine :D Because you are showing you care about what they want, and want to please them. However, I guess I just think it's something your friend or partner shouldn't care about in the first place :x. But I'm always a fan of being nice to friends and getting them presents that they really wanted :D If they wanted it, then it IS a symbol of love. :) Everybody hug and spread the love :D
August 8, 200619 yr Like somebody said, if you are struggling with bills and are barely making it, jewelry should be the last thing on your mind. You should have other priorities in your life than buying an accessory. If you are wealthy, you should at least buy her a nice necklace with a diamond. I find it funny how a lot of girls say they don't want anything like that, but if you get it for her, she shows it off to her friends. When i get married, the ring i get her will at least be over 1k, not just because of how it looks, but just because i think she deserves it. August 8, 200619 yr I still can't get over how fat someone can be to need about 50 bucks for a meal. A freakin buffet is cheaper than that. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
August 8, 200619 yr I still can't get over how fat someone can be to need about 50 bucks for a meal. A freakin buffet is cheaper than that. For a weekday meal I can understand, but it's perfectly normal to spend more than that on a weekend meal at a fine restaurant. But then again, there's McDonald's and there's food. ^The most disturbing signature on Tip.it^Last.fm|HELLY KAYLA!|Oh the mehagurtz!|#Siencemakers"they care less about their spelling mistakes then I." - Lionheart"apinagez... let me

My parents visit Vegas every year and they have one buffet they really like.. And it's $45 per person.. But if you don't live somewhere like that then $50 should be able to feed 2 people.. Wine/Champagne with the meal would easily bump the price over $50. For it is the greyness of dusk that reigns. The time when the living and the dead exist as one.

August 8, 200619 yr Will someone leave me 200k? :( This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
August 8, 200619 yr I think of it like this: If you can spend $30-$50 on a meal that lasts but one hour or so, why can't you spend a few thousand dollars on something such as jewelry that lasts for your life? Why do so many men cheap out on their wives, i mean, i think you can spend a few thousand dollars on her since most people die with like 200k+ in their bank, which is just handed to their children and then they dont even use it, and it just keeps getting passed down, so why not use your money while you have it? people are constantly trying to save when no matter what they always seem to come to an end with more than they need. Roffles? I want your parents, buddy. I do not know who told you most people die with $200,000 in the bank, but someone lied to you. More like -$200,000, which is then passed to their children who have to pay it! Like I said, if THAT is your concept of money, I want your parents, because they're obviously rich. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
August 9, 200619 yr If you're a wife who didn't get jewelry, I can see where this is going. I could launch into a whole thing about how feminists and housewives want this that and everything without doing any kind of real work but that would be presumptuous on my part since I don't know your situation, and so I shall refrain. But as others have stated you could invest it, or buy web hosting and hire content creators and make a lucrative entertainment portal or something, or buy a gaming machine, new lawnmower, put it towards a truck... Given the choice between a $5000 diamond and $5000 cash I would take the cash and spend some and invest the rest. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"
