It would make ancient switching a helluva lot easier... By that time I was very close to lvl 51 thieving when I decided that I wanted one BADLY... To this day, I havent left Sophanem, only to recharge prayer and hitpoints in Nardah at the Elidinis Statue... I am now lvl 59 thieving (access to only the first 4 rooms), and I havent gotten anything usefull save a handful of gold seals... ALL the thieving xp came from that Pyramid (ok, I dont get to play much lately, but all time was spent down there) No Sceptre... I'm going to continue to try to get it, but after being a member for well over a year, and the best drops I got are: - Addy 2h and bax - Rune defender and knives - 3 rune pickaxes from a clue I have been trying for many things, Barrows, Dragon, as well as Obsidian... Nothing... So to get down to the question again in the title: Is it impossible? Am I cursed? Am I doing something wrong? Has it been worth being a member for me AT ALL? (I have considered ending my subscription, because im obviously not meant to have any of the cool stuff, so I might as well just go back to f2p) Please discuss... (Quit: tallest please come to the death altar, give me 1,337,000,000 gp, a golden tinderbox, and a spade, also steal one of zidanes phats and give it to me. supuh Posted August 12, 2006 Share Posted August 12, 2006 you think your luck is bad? i may have gotten a scepter from there (sold it), my luck is AWFUL ive been playing rs for 3 years this fall, i'm currently level 94 combat gem drops: 36. half keys from monsters: 3 dragon drops: zilch barrows drops: none, 63 barrows run dry streak since thier release best clue: guthix full helm (took me long enough to get it, it was around my 20th clue, and it was my first ever god item) most gp ever held at once: 3.4 mil jad attempts: 1, and it failed miserably, draining away all my cash and runes currently wearing (remember, im level 94): rune pl8, legends cape, addy legs, addy boots, granite sheild, lederhosen hat, dragon mace, ring o' wealth, str ammy, rune gloves ... im just about the POOREST person in rs at my level i've met. at the rate that my half keys and gems drop, ill be lucky to get a dragon drop before i hit level 126 (IF i ever reach 126). i may be 72 construction, but my characters poor as dirt and so unlucky you wouldn't believe it. (day metal dragons came out i lost 300k because i tried to hally them before anyone told me they could spit fire ) 72 construction. Same thing happened to me. I thought I could be clever and hally the dragons instead. Got confused and had a couple of fireballs head straight towards me, I died in to hits from the fire. Lost all my best stuff, except my rune plate, dragon halberd and dragon long. Which also happened on the same day the metal dragons came out. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug. demonlord Posted August 12, 2006 Share Posted August 12, 2006 im slighty luckier than you lot but not much atm i have a grand total of 15gp and the maximum amount of oney i ever had was 59gp BUT i have a few things like blck herald shlds but i cant sell em i reckon im cursed to be THE WORST merchanter in the world im all my 2 years of runescape playing both f2p and p2p i have managed to sell the dragon spear for 30gp to an scammer (master zanka) and also due to my computer deciding to after clicking the first accept and seeing 30gp not 300k shut donw completly and totally when i logged on my spear was gone and i had 30gp and memories also i never EVER get even halfway decent stuff i killed a hellhound other day and just as i was about to teleport with 2hp left saw a clue so i ran up and grabbed it after dropping my steel armour just in case and as luck would have it i lost ALL THAT STEEL ARMOUR!!!! but hey who cares I GOT A CLUE at least 100k im thinking so i spend the next 2 DAYS doing it and what do i get as a reward??? 5 RED FIRELIGHTERS!!! honestly i think some of us are destined to be the poor sods ijn the runescape world ############<\-_-/>################<\-_-/> !beware the face of boredom! <\-_-/>#############<\-_-/>############### Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Funny thing was my inventory was full (I wasn't planning on getting the sceptre) so it was on the floor when the mummy threw me out ... Mad dash back inside the pyramid to collect the sceptre.. I was lucky that it didn't disappear. thingummywut Posted August 12, 2006 Share Posted August 12, 2006 Level 82-99 thieving now in the Pyramid. Found a total of 3 sceptres, all from grand gold chests (rooms 2, 7 and 8). Just keep trying, it's really, really rare. I've been extraordinarily lucky, I think. Many friends have gone from like 80 to 99 without any sceptres at all. I, also, have never had a dragon drop, however i am combat 99 now and have a Dragon med helm, a D square and a whip being my most expensive items. I do tend to get a few half keys though, and have never had the cash spare to go on a barrows run. I'd consider myself to be one of those people whose luck is neither good nor bad. Now instead of banking i dropped the full sara on the ground, to pick up after the quick convo. At the end of the convo the mage teled me away! At least I did... went there all equipped, potted on anti fire and all, but forgot the shield because the day before I got my rune defender (only 600 tokens 8-) ), so I just wanted to try it out. Result: lost the defender, my Fire Cape and a bunch of other good stuff. I had a dose of anti fire just before I went into the room, he still hit me two 30s and a "dead". edit: all these stories are discouraging me from trying to get a sceptre. I'm happy with my camulet anyway... Current goals: Going for 80 80 80.Recent goals achieved: 70 70 70 done. Major Achievement: Fire Cape at 79 combat. henk333 Posted August 13, 2006 Share Posted August 13, 2006 The Scepter only comes from the grand gold chest or Sarcophagus, so check the chest in every room before doing the doors. Most people just run to the maximum room they can do and start checking urns and finish with the chest and Sarcophagus. This way you only have 2 chances for a scepter. If you check the chest (which is faster) in every room before doing the doors your chances increase significantly. I have 2 scepters, one from level 1 chest, the other from level 5 chest.
