August 28, 200619 yr Since America is the only country on the face of this Earth that doesn't use metric, I think we need to switch. Metric is so much easier than our standard system. We should also switch to celsius. I think fahrenheit is just a dumbed down version of celsius, a 0-100 scale instead of 0-32. And maybe switch our dates to day/month/year. These are things the rest of the world has, and America is just weird not using them. Anyone agree? Me doing staff.
August 28, 200619 yr There was a post on this like 2 weeks ago.. But I won't tell if you don't :-$ ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâï(̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâú_o)/̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâï
August 28, 200619 yr Author  Oops, I did a search. But the search thing is so messed up. Me doing staff.
August 28, 200619 yr Yeah, it much easier to use. 32F for freezing point? 16 oz for a pint? Come on who ever came up with this stuff... =; "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
August 28, 200619 yr America is the best country ever. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.
August 28, 200619 yr Author America is the best country ever. I never said it wasn't. Me doing staff.
August 28, 200619 yr i learned it this way and i'm used to it if somebody changed it to metric i'd be like nuh uh i'm like it this way better

Very cold is 0 and Very hot is 100 and anything inbetween is nice and easy to pick out which side of the scale it's on :) I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam.
August 28, 200619 yr America is the best country ever. I never said it wasn't. Yeah I know, I'm just saying. We should pretty much be our own continent. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

America isn't that great. Yes, yes it is. We > All. That's why we can look you square in the eye and say "We like our system. Convert it, snob." and you do it. :P Yemin also does not use metric as far as I know of...Unless it's changed in the past 5 years or so. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
August 28, 200619 yr i agree 100%, but the truth is, it will cost WAY too much to change everything. everything retaught, everything reprinted, converted, etc. All those road signs? textbooks, data, etc? it costs jsut waaay too much. plus, america has survived fine with its system; unless america risks getting annihilated because it doesn't use the metric system, its not worth changing
August 28, 200619 yr Meh, I've adapted to more or less using both metric and English systems of measurement due to travel. Doesn't really matter to me. Adventurer's Log || YouTube || Facebook || Tip.it Times Work || Wanna Join the Editorial Panel?Maxed Out 01 October 2012 PDT
August 28, 200619 yr I can barely use the American system of measurement... Metric would only confuse me more.
August 28, 200619 yr Author True the cost would be too much. I wonder why we even have our own system. I mean we border Canada all over and they use metric. Me doing staff.
August 28, 200619 yr I can barely use the American system of measurement... Metric would only confuse me more.Considering most Metric conversions are either multiply by 10 or divide by 10, I think even you can do that :P
August 28, 200619 yr Go metric! It realy wont take very long to switch to the metric system and it wont increase costs too much. The first step would to be to introduce children to metric at younger ages and to start replacing signs with both metric and imperial. After about 10 years nearly everything using the old system would have been replaced with a combonation system and we would be able to remove imperial from new products. By the end of 30 years the US would have switched with nearly no cost to the taxpayers. If we realy wanted to speed things up we could alway skip going to war once a while and stop playing the Global Police by getting into other's busness. I am sure the money used in just 1 war could pay people to repaint every sign in America.
August 28, 200619 yr i dont really understand the imperial system metric seems so much more easier wat was with the thing u said on sayin the date day, month, year......they dont...? farenhiet is just hard to understand...well im glad i liv in australia where we use metric system america is supposed to be the top super-nation rite.....and they dont even use the metric system thanks to mitsubishi64 who made this sig
August 28, 200619 yr Author wat was with the thing u said on sayin the date day, month, year......they dont...? It was just a small thing I noticed. I think everywhere besides America is day/month/year instead of month/day/year as in America. But I could be wrong. And since we learn/use metric in science and school, I don't see why we need a seperate system. :? Me doing staff.
August 28, 200619 yr And since we learn/use metric in science and school, I don't see why we need a seperate system. :? Exactly. Most American students now know how to use both systems.. I don't really understand why people keep making such a big deal over it. :x ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
August 28, 200619 yr It's called ignorance something American's are very good at. Not all ofcourse :-w

August 28, 200619 yr Am I the only person who writes dates yy/mm/dd when available? The only time I don't is when the form says otherwise :-k
