Which games would you like to play with yer fellow tipiters?

Featured Replies

Greetings again from the Off Topic Events Team!

Lately, we've been planning to organize off board events, such as games, and much more to come.

So, we need to know what games you'd feel like playing online with other tipiters, or which you already play and would like to suggest us.

So far, we've got these browser games suggested:

iSketch

Party Poker

Acro Challenge

Digis Online (Tactics Arena Online)

Yahoo Pool

Yahoo Chess

We could also try actual computer games, non web-based, such as:

Age of Empires

FIFA

Counter Strike

Battlefield

SWAT 4

Doom

Worms Armageddon

Quake

Tremulous

Natural Selection

Command & Conquer

Age of Mythology

Unreal Tournament 2004

Warcraft 3

Empire Earth

For these, we'll figure a way to host servers at certain times for competitions/matches.

Among those, there are also some light older games. We could find a way to play those online too.

Console games:

Super Smash Bros Melee

Halo 2

We're looking for suggestions! After we gather enough ideas, we'll turn this post into a poll and you'll vote for your favorite games.

After that, it'll be all about setting the servers and arranging the matches. And playing, of course.

Thanks for reading! :)

There are abandonware games as well, like Doom or other old and light games, maybe we could find a way to play those.

FYI: Most of those aren't abandonware (Doom isn't, as far as I know) and it does count as piracy if you download them. Just because a company hasn't sold them for a while doesn't mean they've abandoned the rights - the abandonware sites are often breaching copyright.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

I'm totally down for some Counterstrike, just give me the IP! :P

Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

Meh, just use Zdaemon to play Doom1/2 online.

Other than that, Quake 1/2/3, Tremulous.

Thanks for your input, Anesthesia. Of course we wouldn't want people breaking copyright here. I should replace abandonware with some other word.

However, I believe most people have those old games already on their machines, so, it wouldn't be needed to get them again.

I'm totally adding Worms Armageddon to that list, Necro. :D

Diminished, more info on that, please?

Haha, I guess you came up with this idea after we tried to play age? :)

Well, I would've sent you home crying anyway, so it's good we couldn't play after all

Very nice idea Api! You may wanna add TAO, a game that requires thinking. And a lot of it should you wanna win against experienced players.

edit: Oh woops, seems like you already added it. How could I forget you rule in it as well?

Age of Empires 2 with a lot of teams is a lot of fun.

I would love a good game of Battlefield2 :) .

Other games I would like to play would be Doom (1-3) or quake (3 or 4). Quake3 would be a lot of fun in a nice battle royal! I'm no good at Quake so it would be cool to see how bad I get owned.

Party Poker would be great fun. =P~

iSketch is fairly fun as well, and Starcraft might be fun too. :3>

For a console i'd like to play anyone in Super Smash Bros. Melee. It's fun with more than 2 people.

Poker (any client any version)

Worms (any version)

Ahh seriously though. We need to open up a Tip.it server on Counterstrike. That would be awesome.

I just borrowed my friends version of AOE 2 which iv been playing a bunch recently. I own galactic battlegrounds (same game) and Age of Mythology with the Expansion pack (also same game). So If you guys are going to start up some good ol' multiplayer fun I'm up for it.

I'd be down for some Counterstrike (Source right?). Although I haven't played a FPS all summer so I'd be rusty.

SSB for the N64 (Pikachu FTW), or either Day of Defeat: Source or The Specialists HL1 mod (I was once untouchable in the Specialists, now I kinda suck, hehehe.)

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

How do you propose we play an N64 game?

You know, I think a tournament of Warcraft 3 would be good. Easy to run, easy to co-ordinate (easy to get into channels, no messy IP's, solid b.net action). And we could play 1v1 or something, so that if people have to leave they don't hurt their partners (though teams would be really fun too).
