Don't forget the world famous Durial glitch was discovered and fixed. That seems pretty big to me.

Off topic: Ancients and barrows are only a year old? How did people play c wars, much less win?!?! :uhh: Scares me to think about snaring in mystic...

Alongside that whips, dear good how did we ever survive?!?!

I dont see why your all pissing and moaning about not having enough "big updates". Think about f2p, they get an update once every 3 years. I wouldnt complain guys, they havent seen a new quest... ever.

Offtopic: Whats RFD? :uhh:

EDIT: Also, something everyones been neglecting, the fact that now mage pkers and range pkers now have prayers to give them a boost in the battlefield (I know most of you dispise prayer users)

Biggest quest ever added to rs, biggest skill ever added to rs (construction took 5 years for them to figure out how to implement), pest control which totally killed rs..

This year has had much bigger updates, this year has made every thing so much easier that i can barely stand playing anymore and your saying you want more?.

Since house alters were added the number of 126s in rs tripled.

Since pc was added the number of maxed melee stats chars on rs tripled.

Any more updates and rs will just die.

The biggest update this year was undoubtably the MUCH NEEDED chat update. Now we can stop being scammed by 0o0o0o0o0o0 people, and we can make all the asian faces we want!!! ^.^

If only we could use the simple contraction without an apostrophe

They have to do some MAJOR tweaking to the chat filter. it's full of thousands of bugs.

You can get away with saying stuff such as ffs and wtf

I guess it all depends on one's definition of a BIG update. Your definition could be what adversely changes the game as a whole, what changes your play experience, somthing that the players have wanted, or, simply somthing with a lot of content. You might not consider all of those things big updates, but at least a few people consider what you might not a big update.

If you take an unbiased look at the update list, you'll find that there actually have been an abundance of big updates.

*Mage Training Arena

*Dragon 2 Handers (might not consider the weapon to be particularly good, but the update did bring about a new boss, which we have very few of, and heck, what people have been demanding is finally here. One step closer to filling the entire 'smithing table' with existing dragon weapons).

*RFD + Armored Gauntlets

*Pest Control

*Game Engine Upgrade (from what they said, this will open up the possibility for a multitude of things that were previously impossible for the old engine. including the next thing...)

*PLAYER OWNED HOUSES. Only been waiting for this one for... forever. Dosen't matter if you like it or not, it's still a humongously huge update. And that makes it big. I liked it.

*Warrior's Guild. Defenders rule, yo. 8-)

*Lunar Diplomacy. New magic class, weather it has very many practical applications, or not.

*New Crossbows

*Demon, Dragon, and Giant update. Yeah, it's not that big, but now demons and dragons actually look cool, instead of like animals. Which is prettymuch what they looked like before.

That's ten. If you don't count the last one, nine. That's one big update for every month, which is impressive considering they did it all in conjunction with all of their other updates.

And really, you have nothing to complain about anyway. As I have quit and partially rejoined runescape, I now play other online games. They get updated MUCH, MUCH less. Jagex, though, pumps out the updates like a well-oiled machine (which is kind of what makes me stick to it, however little). I guess you guys (or some of you, at least) have just gotten so used to getting updates all the time that you expect way too much of them. Making things for implementation in such a massive game world as this is a lot harder than you may think, yet Jagex seems to be doing an OK job.

last year seemed PRETTY GOOD considering i liked the following for the following reasons

1)Bronze/Iron/Steel Dragons- I like them for the easy mage exp and the dragon items they drop :P

2) Slayer- its just an awesomes skill that goes with combat, i personally like this one alot :)

3)dragon scimtar- help me train sooo much easier, i would have to train with a d long or dds for strength

4) ancient magicks- i barely use them but when i do its awesome, cause then i can get into the green dragons real fast

5) barrows- ive made a bit of money from there and i still go back there hoping for a spear

6) abyss- i made soo many runes that way.. and the fast way

7)Farming- helped me with herblore

8)cook x- cooking alot easier but yea helps me look on forums :P

9)Fight pits- made me go to my limits for one thing.. the fire cape

10)Bank pin- i never had a problem with my bank, but this helps

er..... construction ring any bells?
contruction wasnt all that big, there isnt too much that can be done with it that would effect the game as a whole, which I believe is what makes a big update a big update.

Didn't affect the game. There was a massive deflation. All prices just dropped. Whips, barrows armour everthing. Many people wished to spend mass amount of money on construction. So don't say it wasn't big :?

Exactly. We've had the biggest quest ever and biggest skill ever introduced. The biggest ever engine change since RS2 came out. The third most played minigame (Pest Control, after Barrows and CW). An update to range as big as the update to mage last year... and a big update to mage.

How you can say we've no had many big updates is beyond me.

In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothes

I bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal dose

I offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn

"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

No this year has been pretty good in my book. Construction is a ridiculously big update. The new game engine, although it isn't really apparent in the gameplay must have taken forever to develop and is a great update in that it will open up so much more stuff in the future. RFD and the new Morytania quests are all well put together and very enjoyable. The graphics updates are all welcome (and I assume enabled by the new engine). PC is also a big update in terms of it's impact on training and its uptake in the game.

In addition we have had fairy rings and numerous new map areas opened up.

So no, I would say this year is pretty good.
