why do you hate high school?

High School has its goods and bads. Being A Juinor Ive experience almost all of them.

I hate teachers that make us work. They just pass things out and expect us to do them. Im not here to work, Im here to learn. I gain no benefit from having a teacher make us do worksheets.

Repeating it on a worksheet enforces the idea in your mind... therefore, good.

Another thing I hate is writing. School writing is a hypocricy. Writing is a way you express yourself in the manner that you want to. The schools actually have the audacity to tell me what to write about, how much I should write, wether or not I can have dialect, an what my point of view is. Almost any writing assignemnt I get, I just take a 0. Its sickening to be told what to write about.

A near analogy... it's like memorizing something once, but never reinforcing it until when you actually need it and then you find out that no matterh ow sure you were that you had it memorized, you forgot it. 99% of all students need this writing practice, and I doubt you're an exception. (And yes, a part of this practice is writing inside the confines given to you)

ANother bad is parking passes.

Our school requires that you have a lincence, I understand that, insurance (got that), social security and sutffetc.etc. What I dont get is Vehicle Registration. SOme of us dont have vehicles yet, but will get them soon. And since the school only sells them for a limited time were in quite a pickle.

Take that one up with your administration ;)

I hate this almost as much as I hate the writing. Im sick of all these babys, sophmores and freshmans, they cant grow up. Our highschool now has academys, so people know were the classes are. Now we have to go to homeroom to talk about our feelings and learn how to be succsessful. pssssh these * babys parents are the ones influenceing all this. SO what Little Jimmy is afwaid of the big bad seinors!! Cut the friggin umbilical cord, there never going to become indepent with you babying them all the time.

Not exactly sure of what you're on about here =\

Or, the fact that all most 75% of the Schools program budget goes to the Football team, Baseball team, and Soccer Team. Were as The Band has to buy and pay for their own instrument repairs as well as music and other nessecary items out of their own pocket? Next time, dont make a completely random comment without elaborating yourself.

I don't know about what goes on at your school, but at my school the band students generally get to keep their equipment (sans uniforms) and the football team doesn't get to keep it :P

What? I read this 3 times and didnt see what It had to do with people telling you how to write? I understand basic writing format, but using dialect in your storys is "IMPROPER!" And they have the nerve to tell you what to write about! Dont you think that is upsurb? Honestly, "I want you to express your feelings, in this manner, You MUST have atleast 5 paragraphs, you MUST be able to write it in 2 pages. You MUST express yourself about a topic that has no meaning to you. Like explain the quote "Snowflakes are all diffrent"-Janis Joplin. (rolls eyes).

Yeah Worksheets do enforce what you learned, but good does it do when you havent learned anything? You cant enforce statistics witohut teaching the process first.

Its better to be judged by twelve, than to be carried by six.

I loved high school. I've learned a bunch of things for you know.. life.

I liked most of my teachers and I've met a bunch of cool people. I don't understand why people hate it so much :?

Writing your in your ownstyle and expressing yourself is good and all, if you live as an outcast or have no job. Edit: Or if you are writer. Yes if your a an author, i can see your own style of writing to be good. But for anything else, freedom of expression is limited sometimes. If your given an essay, your expected to give fact and info, not opinions and theorys.

There are certain expectations in the workforce for writing. The school trying to keep you inside those expectations helps ready you for your future where you must write and do stuff to others expectations, not your own.

Also id like to take the chance to point out this is one place were humans are wrong and we are not the best. Even a high school student cant adapt to what is expected. Instead he wants to change the things around them and make it adapt to their specifications.

Edit2: and even if you are given expectations, you can work within them. Just look at what you can and cannot do, and see what works for you and what doesnt.

agreed now we have construction so when i am a junior thier will be no [bleep]ing space to park, anyway i am a sophmore and i think that it is the parents of freshman that are the problem. i mean they can't mix the freshman up, they have all the same classes with everyone. this they think will help you learn to socialize but no it would not it just tries to control who you make friends with.

sophmores are not the problem i am a sophmore and i know it is the freshman i mean now that i am a sophmore my parents do not baybe me as much as when i was a fresman.

i hate the science fair

i hate regular english 10 my class is al [wagon]es that do not know nothing and can't follow directions.

well i am starting to enjoy it more than i did last time i am not addicted to rs anymore so i enjoy it more than last year when i hated everything that stopped me from playing rs, yah it is saaaaaaaaaaaaaad but no not addicted anymore.

Do you even know what a school is for? See, there are these people called teachers and they try to teach you. But see, there are these ingnorant people like you who think that the teachers are feeding out BS and that you aren't going to learn anything from these "highly trained professionals". Teachers assign these because it makes you think more than you writing any old thing that you want to would make you think. You say that it's stopping you from being creative? What is? Next time you get an assignment like this, take a different approach to the topic. Actually put forth an effort to be creative instead of just shoving it asside thinking that it's the dumbest thing ever. You aren't going to learn if you think that the teachers don't know what they are doing. The teachers went to college, you didn't. And at the rate your going, you won't.

About some of your other arguments/statements: Parking passes, yeah, take that up with your administrators. As for sports getting more money than band, that's only because more people are interested in the sports and band generally gets shoved aside. I, myself, am in marching band and yeah, I agree, I hate how football gets more budget but that's life. Umm, about the teachers that hand out only work, that I agree with you again there. I've had teachers like that and their classes suck. Lastly, about the whiney brats, it's highschool. Infact, it's life. Throughout the rest of your life, you will have to deal with these whiney brats who think that they should get everything handed to them on a gold plate.

I hate the people like that^

What do you hate? The fact that I believe that Americas youth is being sheltered so much that it wont be able to survive in socially active society? Or that the school system is hindering students creativity by telling them what is art. Or, the fact that all most 75% of the Schools program budget goes to the Football team, Baseball team, and Soccer Team. Were as The Band has to buy and pay for their own instrument repairs as well as music and other nessecary items out of their own pocket? I never really hated it, I just hated going and leaving feeling like I learned nothing everyday. My school isn't exactly the Harvard of highschools, it was a pretty lame school...Teachers just shoved you into rooms and read crap from books, explaining nothing and asking no questions. Hooray for that crap. :P

You do realize that by whining about not wanting to do a writing assignment because it doesn't allow you to express yourself the way YOU want is pretty emo in itself, right? Closet emo, perhaps. Perhaps you do not dress the part, but you surely act it!

If youre like me, you tend to start hating people over the years for some reason... ::'

I hated my first few years too, but my last year was definitely awesome.

High school should be one of the best times of your life. After high school it all goes down hill lol.

Uh oh...

Sounds like somebody hasn't been to University yet. Just kidding

Why do you insist on assuming he said he is too good to do it? He simply said he doesn't like the way the school sets the guidelines for writing papers. Seriously, do you know him? Do you go to his school? Dont assume. =; It's not cool.

If I would've had a choice I would've rather went somewhere else besides school and done something else besides learn. But while I was there I enjoyed it.

And for anybody who just can't stand highschool, just wait until university/college-trust me.

This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.
