So I finally quit that annoying habit of nailbiting to master the art of fingerpicking on the guitar :P I've been doing it for as long as I can remember.. How about you guys?

Er, it's much easier than using any kind of tools to cut your nails (or especially scissors). I've done it since like age 7. Just make sure the waste is thrown in it's justified place, which is not your carpet. :wall:

 

 

 

On the other hand (no pun) I just don't understand people who bite their nails because they're anxious or stressed. But there are many kinds of people and habits.. :)

Fingernails yes, toenails NEVER. I only bite/cut my nails when they get too long.

 

 

 

I went over a year without cutting my toenails to see how long they would get. Then one day I stubbed my toe walking up my steps and my big one broke making it sharp,jagged and getting caught in my socks. Never doing that again :notalk:

Ah, biting them is old-fashioned (and hard!) I have never bitten my nails, I prefer to get one corner of them when they get to a decent length, and kinda, pick at it with another nail until you get a bit you can get hold of, and then rip it off. It produces a much better and cleaner finish! Its only painful when you get it wrong and rip it too short, then you just gotta avoid lemon juice and orange juice for about a week, or it hurts like hell!

I stopped that habit along time ago. I've moved on to biting the skin around my nail (whatever they're called ~ yum) XD And no, I have never tried biting my toenails because that's just wrong... =P~

I used to, now I crack my knuckles instead.

I still do it, even though it led to one of the most embarassing moments of my life a while back. Won't share it with you, as it's kind of inappropriate for these boards.

I used to bite my nails but when I started hanging around girls more I noticed my nails caught on clothes pretty easily after being bitten.. So I either had to stop biting my nails or keep my hands off of girls.. You can pretty much figure out what I chose :wink:

I can bite my toenails. You have to be very flexible around your inner thigh and groin areas.

I stopped biting my nails many years ago. Perhaps that made it easier (years later) to start playing the guitar; I don't know. My nails are long-ish because I like them like that, however: not because of the guitar.

i never ever bite my nails .. but i failed. normally i just use nailclippers and then file them .. i give myself a manucure (sppp?)
