therealmuskee
On Oct 12th I received a message from jagex saying I am banned for 1 day and received a black mark for the following 60 sec chat Muskee: Trading pots for herbs -Muskee-trading high level pots for herbs- muskee-Muskee:trading high level pots for herbs-muskee Muskee:No tar- Other person:u sd high lvl pots- Muskee:i id them for u?- other person:um..ok- gave the following herbs-total of 10 herbs-ranaar 3 irit 1 kwuarm 1 lantadyme 1 marentill 2 tar 1 and cadantine1 ther person says:I want my herbs bak- Muskee:i dont do mar-other person-not pots- Muskee:I trade pots for herbs i said- other person:no i want my herbs-I report u muskee- Muskee:pots back then. T The rest of conversation didnt show up but I gave him his herbs back and he kept the pots. I was trying swap my potions for herbs, a practice i do daily, and i was traded by a player, i gave him back potions as stated and he then wanted the herbs back and i gave him both herbs and the potions and he reported me. i got banned 1 day for "item scamming". I feel this affects the whole community of rs, I gave him his herbs back ided and he kept the pots-so he got free ided herbs and pots at my expense. I got the ban and black mark. Im wondering if there is anyone out there that agrees with me as to how unfair my black mark is? I have decided that I will not help others unless I know them well as it is a risk of lossing my char. Its too bad the game has gone this way.
chicodallasman
What? :? Ever heard of the enter button? EDIT: Now that you've made it readable... That's just crazy... Jagex is really getting ban crazy over the most trivial things lately.
Screech1992
Ehm I don't quite get the conversation? :? Please make it a little more readable, cuz all the words are sticked together now, without punctuation.

das
This is unfortunate, i like to help people, and it is shocking and revolting to think you could get possibly banned for helping people. This is a real issue, that could happen to anyone, trading processed materials for the raw counterpart is one of the best ways to level. if there becomes an estigma that it is unsafe to trade with lower levels. also would this not even further divide the community we have? players like muskee are few and far between, willing to always lend a helping hand, thats what this game needs more of. if players like her, or other top skillers become afraid to trade with lower levels for fear of losing there hard work. skilling itself becomes redefined into a one man project. and the community becomes divided. Players should not be hesistant to scam? how many reading this topic have helped someone by iding a herb or smithing a bar into a finshed product for them? what if this happened to you? This is a serious shocking issue which shocks me to no end. we cannot be afraid to help others out "Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world."Abraham Lincoln

Bwareofmef
She gaved his herbs back after he already gotten the pots.......clearly said trading pots for herbs. Means free herblore for others who dont have the lv to trade their herbs into pots. I think thats pretty much helpful there. He didnt give the pots back..clearly he is the one who scammed not her. midge1969
Its a shame that RS has come to this, in the 5 years i have played i have never known anything like it, people are too keen to jump on the report button for silly things that shouldnt even be reported. Being a high level skiller, i'm with Muskee and Beware on this one, only people i help out now are those on my friends list and people in the adult only group i belong to. I'm not risking "trying" to help someone only to be reported in the process. Jagex need to take a long hard look at the real scammers and cheats and not be so quick to ban people who are actually trying to help, or at least give them the opportunity to be able to state their case :shame:
das
Giving a guy pots for his herbs when he only wanted them id'ed isnt very helpful... if you bothered to read, you would of saw she was saying trading pots for herbs, and was traded, now if your sitting in those shoes saying that and your trading, you would assume they are trading you herbs for your service? i would. Silverchipmunk
This is just crazy. I am getting fed up with all these stories of innocent people being banned or black marked! I wonder if JAGEx even cares.
RokSolid
I have been 'reported' for trying to help other in the past but luckily nothing has come of it, generally i just help my closer contacts or ones that i know are more mature than to hit the report button at any given time. Often little thanks or incredibly stupid actions like this make it too much hassle/risk to bother helping others. Unfortunately i have to agree with muskee =Rok=
pwrdave
You have got to be kidding me. Who is running this game anyways!!! Has it come to the idgets and scammers running things. Less then 2 years ago i left the #1 on line game to play this with my family and friends - (2 teens a wife and multiple friends) because we all wanted to play together as a family. Giving up the #2 paladin spot out of millions was hard but i choose this game because its simple and seemed to be set up well. Yes there where scammers and the whole list of things that comes with on line gameing but i taught them all how to avoid such things and enjoy the game. I told them that there are experienced people who run the show and if ever it really came down to it they would interceed and make things right. *************WHAT DO I TELL THEM NOW******* Personally i like to help the little fellow. I log on for that some days. It is a part of what keeps this game going. I pray this was a huge error made by jag that they will take note of and reciepicate. Unitedite
As far as the snapshot Jagex would have reeived is concerned: You offered to ID their herbs, but didn't give them back once you'd IDed them. That's worth a ban. You're unlucky that the snapshot didn't catch you giving the herbs back, that's all. In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothesI bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal doseI offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"
Kilo
It is rather annoying that most of the customer support team is probably not real people, but computers that auto-ban when certain words or trades occer :wall: I'm not saying the customer support team is all auto-computer-banners ,so don't flame me please :XD: Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Oscar Wilde
Master_Tim
I got another good story myself... I was on f2p for a few months. At this point in time I was combat 103. Some ignorant player called me a hacker, I obviously answered, "how do I hack?" After no response for a minute, I asked again, "I'm still wondering how I hack"...turns out he thought the highest possible combat level was 99. Anyways, last month I logged onto rs and I just happened to have some mail. I thought to myself, what in the world could they want with me? So I log out, go to the home page and check my message to find what? Three messages from jagex...one telling me I've been reported for "encouraging others to break rules" and the other two telling me I have recieved TWO black marks. I was so confused at this. So of course I read over the evidence and sent in my appeal telling them the exact thing I stated above, that he called me a hacker cause he thought the highest possible combat level was 99 and that I was simply asking for that answer... Anyway, my appeal got denied FIVE MINUTES LATER...kind of quick to get to my appeal (if you ask me I think something they got up there at Jagex automatically denied my appeal or something)...want to know the reason??? "We have conclusive evidence that you were in control of your account at the time of the report." ...uhm...thanks for denying my appeal......even though I never said I didn't have control of the account... And that is my story...still got my marks...kind of upsets me that I only got one chance to get them taken off and it was ruined by someone or something that can't comprehend my side of the story, my defense. *EDIT* Whatever happened to the rule that you get banned for falsely reporting, hmm? Bwareofmef
I am sure Muskee is greatful for all your supports to this thread and sad for those who are experiencing the same thing or know of someone who is. One chance to appeal is crazy:( So unprofessional to not take time to read peoples only chance correctly. Bware Made by Scarletstar

Lord_Serene
Wow, this is horrible. I love taking time off of mining, rcing, smithing, etc. so that I can help others in need. It breaks repetivness of skilling. It seems like Jagex is slowly turning this into a single player game... Guthix Gladiators!
therealmuskee
Thanks to all who replied on here. Bachman
I have "known" Muskee for a little while now and have known her to be honest and very hard working. For jax to jump to ban and give a black mark for that snap shot is insane. It clearly states that she was trading pots for herbs.Does this mean no more giving a helping hand, making sure that public chat is always off?How do you think new players will respond if every time that ask a higher level player a question they are ignored?I for one am going to have to rethink how I play. =; For Muskee I hope she can get this mark removed and look past this,I would hate to she her stop playing over something that never should of happened. cotamatias
Makes me worried, what will I be reported for? That low level who reported me for not giving him MY green party hat? That lurer who reported me for luring after I attacked his team mate who was waiting to ambush me? That person who said I was using offensive languege when "Lux" was blocked? What has this come too? elishot
Jagex obviously doesn't read the reports fully. I've even had pmods tell me that when someone is wrongly black marked, it normally means *Jagex didn't fully read the report and just skimmed over it*. I fully agree with bwareofmef. Now I'm not so sure if I will ever help people besides close friends now, especially since I can make furies and there are people who ask me to make one, and I don't have a fury to give them in exchange, so I have to have a , what jagex calls, "Trust trade". Will i eventually get blackmarked for doing a trust trade? I'm also a skill pure, that has a few 99 stats and every now and then, someone tells me they reported me for autoing. Am i going to get banned for autoing? And only have one chance to appeal it. Jagex has done some odd things. I believe Bwareofmef when she says she was wrongly demodded. I've seen pictures of Jagex going out of their way to tell someone to stop closing a door on Lilyuffie88.. or go to mod parties, stand around at pc. They can do that but when it comes to actually looking into something that takes the same amount of time, they apparently are incapable of doing so. Muskee being one of my favorite rs players, I'm sad to hear that you got a black mark for no reason. Its a shame Jagex has wrongly demodded bware, and won't listen to her. They will make scammers a mod (YES there is a mod that kept trying to trade scam my friend about 3 times on 3 different occasions, and he got the crown a few days ago.) They only seem to look into who hits the report button the most now.
