Lending a hand is no longer allowed?

Heh you think what happened to you was messed up? Here's what i got...

 

 

 

I log in one day and see a good buddy of mine (just happened to be his bday) so I pm him saying something like: "Heya bro!! Happy Bday ya old fart!" He just pm's me back saying hi or something. I ask him what he's gonna do for his bday. Then wait 5 minutes and get something like, "You busy?" Told him naa and asked what he needed. Wait another 5 minutes and get something like: "hello... ya there?" Then it hits me. i pm another friend asking if he wants my st00f cuz I'm quitting rs. Wait 5 minutes and no reply. I log out and check my apeal offence\ban box. BOOYAH! Perma mute!! No new messages in jagex inbox. No new offences (latest was the 21st of july, me a bad boy). No new offences means I can't appeal my perma mute. Now I'm stuck sending in messages through Customer service (which no one reads) trying to get some explanation of why I have been muted.

Teamspeak is an application, not a website and i didnt advertise it.

 

I sent in an appeal to this effect and recieved an autoresponse within seconds.

I then sent in a complaint that my appeal was obviously not read and recieved this reply:

So not only was my appeal not read my complaint wasnt either, as my complaint clearly stated that i had already appealed and was denied with a bs reason.

 

 

 

I have quit rs now, jagex spends all its time expanding an already good game, when the only improvement thats really needed is customer support, is it that hard to get some one like Mod mark to do cs? At least he has an iq higher then a house plant.

I sent a message to the CS team asking if i can appeal again (Banned 11 months ago, Breaking rule 6....) i sent it on the banned account on monday and have got nothing back, So i have sent one on my paying account.. Should get a reply in the next hour.. Money talks :oops:

As far as the snapshot Jagex would have reeived is concerned:

 

 

 

You offered to ID their herbs, but didn't give them back once you'd IDed them. That's worth a ban.

 

 

 

You're unlucky that the snapshot didn't catch you giving the herbs back, that's all.

 

 

 

Thats where things got wrong. Jagex takes snapshot of the trade and convo right after and the report is sent. They banned you for the evidence they was in possession of, which isnt much imho.

 

 

 

Heres how the Jagex_mod in question should have handled the situation:

 

 

 

"I see Muskee's convo saying she swap herb for pots. I see that the complainter and muskee trade pots for herbs. I see the complainter ask for his herbs back, but he did receive pots instead. I dont see herbs returned to the complainter (because the snapshot-evidence ended after that), but he did receive pots, so that could be considered payment". Hmmm one other thing; Muskee is a long time player, one of the highest ranked players, infact ranked as number 14 .I dont think she would risk 6 years of playing, and a skill total of 2149 for some simple herbs. I use my better judgement here and logic sence to let this incident go. I will instead ban the reporter for 1 day, since he obviously miss-used the report button."

 

 

 

I too rarely if ever trade like that because of the risk of getting banned (I heard to many storys). If I trade with someone, I make sure to say things like this right before, during and after the trade:

 

 

 

"Did you say you wanted x amount of money for the item? - here is the agreed amount of money for your item - look at the item/money before you hit accept; is it what you wanted?"

yea i was banned too. i was banned when i tried to stop a guy being acc scammed.

Apparently Jagex has no trouble with accusing loyal player mods of things they didn't do. I'm actually amazed by the amount of other high profile players having trouble with this.

Sunli ((hugs)) thanks pretty much said it for me, I was very much stoned walled. Feels weird geting support from some Jmods yet they cant help me. The Jmod who did this, shouldnt be qualified to even be incharge of anything if they have troubles controlling their emotions,cant read, cant deal with stress, and cant fix their own mistakes? What happens to apologising? Why go ahead and lie to pmods knowing there is alot who i am friends with? Funny thing is..I was trying to help that jmod and actually agree with them...every pmod saw that. Has it ever been dealt with? Nope..I just get ignored. Not even the teamleaders care to know what their employees are up to behind their backs. Lets just Demod me and push it under the rug..and hopefuly I will go away or quit RS. Well neither is going to happen :wink: Until I am reinstated as Pmod, I will not forget and forgive or go away. Why Do I even care? Cause I was a good Pmod and did my duties correctly and It felt good helping the game. Its only one Jmod. Every company or every job ..there is always one bad apple (or a few). Doesnt mean the rest is like that too.

I know, but the matter that they don't even give any credit nor try to solve issues professionally with regards to people who have supported, helped and trusted Jagex during a very long time already, does make it worse.

 

 

 

I can understand if there are people who feel that I do not have that much room to talk as I did my part as well, but:

 

 

 

- that did not give Jagex, or a specific Jagex moderator, the right to outrightly break the Data Protection Act by leaking out confidential information between them and me to individual player(s).

 

 

 

- that did not give Jagex, or a specific Jagex moderator, the right to accuse me of possibly abusing my player moderator position to my advantage, without any evidence to back that up.

 

 

 

And Jagex should be perfectly aware of this, but they are apparently not interested in taking responsibility for this by appologizing to me.

Thanks so much to all who replied on here, especially bewareofmef and sunli. I hand no idea so many people were having same trouble on rs.

 

 

 

I wrote to cs under complaints and received a message from them saying I am denied again-of course another form letter.

 

 

 

Im wondering if rs is run by all robots now. lol

Well if its not an auto reply, and by the time it's actually looked over the ban is up. The problem is the black marks stay..

 

 

 

But i completely agree how scary it is that years of work can be lost by an intrusive onlooker who knows nothing of the situation can report someone and be banned. The issue such as in muskee's case can even be resolved after, but the report has already been sent in and thats all the jmod sees. The problem lies int he fact that hundreds of reports may be looked at in a day and how much time do they actually spend looking into the issue - the mere 1 minute sample provided by the report? Further investigating of the report is needed..had the jmod looked at muskee's lvls he would have noticed she has a lot of dedication and credibility among the game which would not have been risked over a few measely herbs. Reporting today occurs all too vigourously by people hoping to get pmoded that the quality of the reports are so low. Without careful examination on the part of the jagex's side so many wrongful bans occur. As RS keeps expanding i only see this issue getting worse, more and more reports will occur and as a result less and less time will be put into investigating each case.

Loge, the message i was sent by jagex wasnt confidential it was the same message they send to EVERY ONE now, if you get a ban and appeal it in the last few weeks, they give that reply and decline it, i know dozens of people wrongly banned, they have all had that reply and had there appeal declined, jagex has turned into a money hungry joke of a company that i will no longer support, the few good mods they have remaining like kat, mark and paul are rarely on anymore and probably wouldnt have time to help me out anyway.

same thing happened to me, i was trading uncuts for cuts, but i was saying cutting gems free, and someone reported me for item scamming and i also got a black mark, but my appeal was successful im sorry to hear that yours muskee wasn't and bware i have met you afew times ingame and i must say she is one of the few generally nice people out there and i was very shocked to hear her story

Muskee - I'm going to ask a friend in-game when I log in later, but your situation sounds identical to a situation that her friend was in... except I'm pretty sure this was about a month ago. Which makes me think that *you* aren't the person she was talking about and it makes me think '**** this has happened yet again.' And that is very concerning for anyone who ever offers their services to another player. I make glories for people a lot - but I'm considering stopping until I have a huge stack of cut dragonstones and dragonstone amulets in the bank - but even after your situation it doesn't sound like making obviously equal trades is enough.

 

 

 

Bware - I'm glad to hear from you that it wasn't a resignation. I missed the whole situation and returned to find things in an uproar and you gone. Even without knowing the full situation and only knowing you through your posts - it seemed unlike you to up and quit. There are a lot of mixed messages that come through - and this situation with Muskee is another one. I know people have been blackmarked/banned for identical situations before - and I know when it was asked of a Jmod if it was permitted that the reply was 'Yeah, of course it's not a problem.' But people keep getting into trouble for it. So one says it's alright - but someone else apparently believes it is against the rules. And there's precious little we can do about it. I don't think 60 seconds is enough to get the real context of a report any more. I've seen too many people end up with bans over crazy things... to the point where I've suggested they add 'Absolutely NO sarcasm or joking allowed in game - ever'. If one person misunderstands or sees a single word they think is reportable - it gets reported and if they're lucky more than just a single line of text appears in the report. But sometimes those single lines of text are taken completely out of context and they're used as the evidence to seal someone's fate and they don't get a chance to question the judgement most of the time. It's a sad state of affairs. :( Anyways - know that you're supported and remembered... :)
