One of my friends was getting high last night. He's a drug addict and dealer so he thought nothing of it. Later that night while he was riding home on his bike he was hit by a car. He has a completely destroyed spleen and a broken arm and ribs along with an extreme concussion. Hes in critical care. He didnt realize the dangers of drugs until it was too late and now he's in the hostpital. He's also facing drug possession charges when and if he gets out. This just goes to show that drugs might make you feel good for a couple hours but its not worth all the misery it causes. It could very possibly be too late for him but its not for you. I hope you will take this into consideration next time someone asks you if you want a joint or something. Drugs screw up your life and thats all there is too it.

What kind of drugs was he taking?

Depends on what drug, and the quality of the drug. If he had a extremely long high, his thoughts could have impaired. It depends on how much later he rode his bike.

yea bad stuff happens to people that do drugs. But it seems a pretty big waste of time/money even if it wasn't dangerous. besides there isn't a good way of taking drugs. Smoking is bad for you, needles and snorting ect. aren't to great either.

He won't learn anything. And if his condition is as bad as the poster thinks, it won't matter whether he learns or not.

And that's not true. People want to blame something and not themselves. The drugs had nothing to do with screwing up your friend's life. He screwed up his own life. Drugs just didn't pop into his life, he's the one who chose to take them. It's his fault he took the drugs and went out on his bike and got hit. In no way are drugs the problem for him getting caught under the influence of them.

 

 

 

He needs to start taking more responsibilty for his actions. He was the one who caused drugs to enter his life. The drugs just didn't enter his blood stream and say "Hey, let's go ride your bike." He was the one who decided to ride his bike under the influence. People just don't understand that kind of stuff and it seems you don't either. Your title makes it sound like it's the drugs fault when it is really your friends.

 

 

 

Maybe you should've maybe tried to help your friend by at least talking to him about how his choices caused his actions and maybe you could've told his parent's or someone who could've helped him. People need friends to help them over-come their problems and maybe even lead them on the right path. Maybe you think it's too late to do something about it, but it's not. Your friend might turn back to drugs, and you need to step in and help him before it's too late, and this time he could step behind the wheel of a car and kill himself and/or innocent people.

I think thats kinda being overly analystic. You knew what he ment. Sure it was his choice to take the drugs, but once he took them, he wasnt himself, the friend was a compleatly diffrent person, probably not in control of his thoughts.

 

 

 

In closing, drugs are peoples choices, theirfore making them one's fault for taking. But saying it like that does not automaticly makes drugs good.

Of course I knew what he meant, but how he put it isn't right. People could overcome drugs, it's just in the state of mind. Some drugs people can have the state of mind over.

I'm sorry, but honestly, I have a hard time believing this. The story just sounds so... fake... If it really happened, then I'm sorry for your friend. If it didn't, then yes, I guess it has a decent moral. Don't do drugs. Actually, don't even get involved with them. Mess with drugs and there's a chance that you'll get seriously screwed up for life. Though it's only a chance, I don't think it's a chance I would want to take.

So he was high, and on a bike, and that means that being hit by a car was instantly his fault? What if the driver was at fault as well? This is just jumping to the conclusion that, "Oh, he's high, therefore it's his fault he got hit by a car."

 

 

 

I'll remember to tell you next time I hear about a drunk guy getting stabbed in an alley. Clearly, it'd be the victim's fault because he was drunk.

 

 

 

Now I don't advocate drug use, but I don't exactly agree with jumping to conclusions like this. In moderation, some drugs like marijuana aren't any more harmful than alcohol and other things that are actually legal.

 

 

 

Until I see an official report saying that your friend was at fault and the driver of the car couldn't simply avoid him or stop, I'll take your story more seriously.
