Stealing...

Okay, I will flat out say it here, I have been stealing, I'm just putting it out there. I know it's wrong, I did it anyway.

:|

So, today my brother and my good friend Steven got called down to the office, they had a talk with the principal. He said he had heard that they had been drinking on campus and stealing from the Wal-Mart across the street. They had (Steven was drinking, my brother and him were both stealing). We are trying to pull this off as we hadn't, no need to help me with that. He said some fellow students had told him, we think we know who as well.

I really am wondering two main things right now, hypothetically if they don't find any hard evidence, can they do anything? And if they do find evidence, what is the worst extent of the law in Nevada for theft?

I am so freaked out now it is insane.I know that it was morally wrong, we didn't do it often, and we had stopped before either of them did get called down. I just really need help dealing with this.

First of all, how old are you?

Second of all, what were you stealing?

I used to steal from Fry's for about 2 years then they caught me and didn't do anything. But schools like to get in other peoples buisness so they could expel you.

if you are in college then they will be reasonable and wont do anything unless they have evidence

if you go to a public HS or MS then they will probably just call your parents and suspend you, in school the teachers know who to point fingers at if something bad goes wrong and will just blame it for you on the spot without getting a chance to defend your self because they can get away with it because you dont have 25,000 invested in your education

At age 5 I stole a golden yoyo from Wal-mart, hid it under my shirt and ran for my life. (no witty quoting please) I was dumb though, I put it under my bed and needless to say my parents asked me how I had $20 to buy it, forgot to remove the price tag.

Shoplifting at a later age though is conscious and needless to say, pointless. Of course it's tempting but I always thought the risk-reward ratio sucks especially if you steal something like bubble gum (I'm not sure what you were stealing).

In most US states, should the value of the stolen good be under $300, it is considered a misdemeanor petty theft, and first time offenders rarely get punished with anything else than compensating the stolen goods and getting a criminal record, in the state of Nevada possibly a few hours of community service.

If you stole something more valuable than that, it will be treated as a felony/grand theft which is more serious and you should stop posting here and consider hiring a lawyer. Try this.

If you've been caught then theres no getting out of it. If it is the case that you've been caught then the best idea would be a man and take the punishment on the chin.

Stealing for you at the moment Im suspecting is just a phase (since your so unaware of the possible punishmens) and its a phase alot of teens go through (myself included when I was 14 or 15) but what you want to ask is, do I really want to go down that road? I mean I stopped stealing quickly because I realised that it was pointless, could affect my future drastically. I mean lets face it you're no master criminal if you didnt get caught this time but you eventually will if you keep going.

I will shoot down any one with my bitting wit, and sarcasm!

What POSSIBLE reason would someone have to make a fake like that?Does he profit from faking a picture like that? Does it help him at all?Jesus Christ, stop being so suspicious. This is Tip.it for God's sake, not RuneHQ. -_-

I think there's a problem when someone doesn't learn that stealing is bad until theology class.

Indeed. Also a problem if people expect kids to learn that on theology classes.

Usually I would say stealing is bad.. But he was stealing from Wal-Mart and I've done my research into that company. They're not as nice and harmless as they seem. When they set up a store in a city they always brag about having the lowest prices (and they usually do). So then smaller companies can't compete with Wal-Mart's prices and thus they lose more and more business to Wal-Mart resulting in them having to close their doors. So, I could really care less if you steal from a company that is trying to monopolize the US economy.

True, it's a cruel world Corporate America. I read about this once, but it was a while ago, this is a form of Supply and Demand right?

I'm not sure if you could call this supply and demand. This is more of Wal-Mart attempting to run smaller companies out of business in order to gain more profits for itself. (Btw, I did a project on the harmful effects of Wal-Mart on the US for my English project in my freshman year)

It's not really the matter of Walmart, not that anyone really cares. It's the principle of it.

You relise that losing 1 Wal-Mart won't hardly hurt their profits. And when you Google 'walmart' that's the first picture that appears. I'd have to guess that's Photoshoped. Why does the sign in the back say 'Layaway' when the main focus sign says 'Going Out Of Business Sale'?
