Poll: Healing with Guthan's.

Which attack style do you heal most on? I find that when i use the bottom-left (pound) I heal alot more. Is this just luck of the draw, or are some actually better than others? I'll try to do some tests, maybe 100 hits with each style, find percentages of healing, etc...

Although all of the stats for the guthan spear are the same. (Stab, Slash, Crush) your opponents defense may not be. Certain monsters may be more vulnerable to a stab attack and therefore the first option would be better.

This means some options may hit more damage, but as far as healing goes, the odds are always the same that you'll see those purple whisps.

Try like 1000. Assuming you'd hit on average, I dunno, once every 5 hits that's still a small sample size of 20, which is no where near close enough to render an accurate statistic. 1000 hits per style minimum, which is easily possible alone, and with people helping very easy to do.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

This is pretty hard to find an answer to because it depends on so many things.

It might depend on the monsters defence to that attack style, but then again you can also have healing hits doing 0 damage.

It depends on your attack level. When you're going to test it by doing an equal amount of hits with every attack style you have to have the same attack level to rule it out as an influencing factor. The best way to test it would be someone with 99 attack.

The state of the spear could have an influence on the amount of healing hits. Theorettically it shouldn't, but to rule it out you should do all testing with a spear (100)

In the end I doubt it will make a difference though, my guess it will show a ratio, which is about the same for all attack styles. Luck of the draw.

^ That's the answer right there. The style of attack will not change how frequently the healing effect occurs. However, if your opponent is weaker to a certain style of attack, then if you're using that style you are more likely to actually do damage when the healing effect occurs - therefore more likely to leech hp.

I use whatever my whip is on, and if it's on defence I use the defense mode. It actually doesn't matter at all because you only heal when you hit a 1 :P .

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

I had some friends round my POH one was wearing full rune the other full black d hide, now i found that Pound(Crush) worked well against the full rune, but Swipe(slash) was best for the black d hide.

I dont think the attack style has any affect on the heal amount only how much more you hit like with any weapon, the more you hit the more chance you will heal.

But as others have said swipe on the NPC's works well.

I don't have Guthan's, I hope I'm free to vote though. I think crush would do fine on metal armour, stab would do fine on rock creatures, but I'm not sure what monster is weak on slash though. :-k

Well, the amount you heal depends on how much you damage, right? So a lot of super strength potions would probably heal you a lot.

The monster's weakness is best.

I use the attack style which the monster I'm fighting is vulnurable to, and I don't really see a difference in specials on different styles. If you use an attack that the monster is vulnurable to, you have more chances of dealing damage during the special.

It all depends on what npc you're healing on.

There's a bingo. Since the spear has the same exact stats for slash, stab, and pound, it will all depend on what the npc's defensive stats are for each attack style. So each npc should give a different result.

For instance, skeletons are weaker to pound attacks then stab attacks. But since stats of npc's aren't published, it would take big testing numbers to prove anything.

A circus in Runescape?? Oh my.
