Lionheart_0
Alright. To quote Samuel L. Jackson: "I've had it with these mother [bleep]ing [tip.iters] on this mother [bleep]ing [board]" Every day, I come home from school, and I see a war. A war of what, you may ask? Well it would see that everyone is battling for control of the biggest ego on this board. Flame after flame destroys almost ever thread. Why? What do all of you have to gain from destroying others self esteems, or from lying through your teeth to gain the biggest reputation on the internet? And why do half of you have to rip each other apart over small differences and technicalities? Not to mention the religious fanatics that seem to infest these boards. Everyone knows that I'm and an accepting atheist, but when two opposing religions seem to go head to head like opposing factions, it gets me worried. Please Tip.it Off topic. When I first came here, it was an awesome place to be, and thats why I'm still here today. But lately, this play has gone to [cabbage]. Please turn it around. Edit: Ok just as an addition, I would like very much for the people who have been causing disturbances lately (you know who you are) to post and discuss issues, and try and sort them out please. Lionheart_0
:? As far as I see it this should be a relaxing place, where people can come and get away from their reality, where the problems are overwhelming. But if one were to bring their problems here, thats when stuff happens. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you! knives669
As you know already, Lionheart, I completely agree with you. When I first came here, this place was awesome, now we seem to be in some sort of rut. C'mon, we may be talking to each other over the internet, there are still people reading what you say and it can be hurtful to some. Who cares about petty differences? stan18
i noticed the same thing, but it has always been like this. you'll always find people who care too much for their own good (not care as in worry, but care as in... intrude on other people) and, well, it reflects in their personality on these boards and even more likely in real life. I just pity them, for they, in an attempt to boost themselves up, try to look good. on the internet. on an mmorpg forum. to complete strangers that they will never meet nor recieve respect from in real life. sad, yes? inevitable, despite it all

Guest GhostRanger
I think the rather intense religious discussions are fine. If it is the right people engaging in the debate then there is usually a lot of knowledge pouring into the board, even if it gets a little fierce. Today in my ethics class my professor and I had it out about existentialism and Nietzsche. Afterwards, I talked to him about how I was worried about getting into a class I needed next semester and he said he would talk to the professor and tell him to let me in because "I'm the kind of student he'll want in his class." Sometimes a good debate, no matter how heated or intense it gets, is good if the people involved understand that outside of the debate there should be no conflicts. That said, there are some crazy people on this board who are not filling this board with knowledge when they debate, and so the fierceness in their debate is useless and detracting from real honest dialogue. I agree with insane - it's a phase that will go away. Remember HomeworkClub and Woman? That phase went away. I remember some other posters that took good debates about religion and turned them into unnecessary flame wars and they phased out as well. Hopefully some of the crazies will pass. If you don't want to see the religious debates though, just don't go to the thread. Don't open threads started by someone like that and don't go to threads about hot-button topics like God, global-warming, and evolution. Most of us doing the serious debating are on pretty friendly terms otherwise and so even if we get angry and unnecessary, we know it's all good afterwards. But there are still plenty of threads that have nothing to do with those hot-button issues we can enjoy. I recommend my Zune thread because let's face it, everything I write is awesome. Giordano
Yes I do agree, lately there seems to be more discussion threads. The second you post there, you get attacked by others saying the same stuff they said in the other 18 pages... But I dont mind if its just 1 thread, but theres a multiple threads (4-5) and most of them turn into a regilious war... :( "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." Yeah, I find that ridiculous. I wont mention any usernames, but once I got this angry PM from a guy I had quoted on some post, and he said "I don't want any antichrist freaks like u quoting me" (referring to the fact that I showed him a verse from the Bible that contradicted his opinion of killing 'infidels' as being justified, maybe 3 weeks earlier) Also, these certain people who turn debates into useless garbage can usually be identified just by their writing style and grammar and their interesting, surprisingly common ideology (common to many 13 year olds who think they know about life) such as "i thnik lezbiens n ghey shud be burnt alive", "omfg if u think global warnin is real y dont we scorch 2 deth rofl" and "cirque du soleil is fun" I've been extremely busy lately so I've had a fairly short temper. Also, the emo bashing doesn't help Once everything calms down in my life I'll be back to my happy self who doesn't give a s* anymore : I wish my grass were emo so it would cut itself. Anesthesia
If it is the right people engaging in the debate The problem is when the wrong people start thread after thread trying to debunk X then ignoring all arguments against them. Fortunately the previous 2 topics of that sort have been locked because of this. Remember HomeworkClub and Woman? That phase went away. They went away because someone banned them. Most of us doing the serious debating are on pretty friendly terms otherwise and so even if we get angry and unnecessary, we know it's all good afterwards. That is true. Providing a well-reasoned counter is nothing like sticking your fingers in your ears and going "la la la la la" as a certain someone does. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be. Lionheart_0
:? I'm very sure most of the religious debates I've seen just end up in someone getting angry because they are not agreed with, and then they go and make sigs that have a negative statement about the person they are angry about.
