85 slayer isn't really that big anymore...at least not compared to what it was. go invest your time into getting it and you'll understand why it's such a big accomplishment. Or go totally insane and do that 4 times! (lvl 99 for those that dont know).

Whips aren't as profitable as they once were, but who cares, they're still decent if you get them as a drop. And besides, they're fun to kill with em teleporting all over the place :P

Unfortunately, a lot do stop at this level because of what it means they can do, but always remember, there's 14 more levels after 85 to get, why not go slay and have some fun :P

Here is my two cents worth...

First off, going after 85 anything is an accomplishment...PERIOD!

Secondly, many people, including myself do not have the funds to purchase a whip outright. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to try and reach 85 slayer in the hopes of obtaining a whip for free. I do not see people knocking at my door offering to give me a whip for nothing. Unless I win some Runescape lottery, I most likely will never own a whip unless I reach 85 myself.

Nuff said I think.

SHHH, I am concentrating.....oh look, a paperclip!

Where was I again?

ok well i think that even thouhg whips are only around 2m its stil way faster then nat crafting

cause in order to make 300k and hour u gotta be at least 50 with 3 pouchs and have like 10 glorys and u also have to mine ur own ess witch makes all the time doubled

so to make 2m nat crafting takes like 10hours but slaying takes any where for 1second to ur whole life

I dont have a sig anymore =[

But I did manage to get every skill in the highscores

Why would you train any skill to 85?

Why would you train any skill to 85?

lol.....

2480+ total

I kinda find this a silly question. It's a skill and it's there to raise, just like all the others. The End. :-s :-k No...?

i trained slayer because i wanted 99 att,def and str, doing slayer made that easier. Now i train at abbys because they drop everything anyone could want as far as drops go Whips, clues, dmeds, lefts, spears, pure ess, almost anything they drop is good. The rate of pure ess from them is pretty comon, pure ess sells for 100+ gp per,so even when your not gettng whips but getting ess your making money whether you make nats or sell the ess.I was around when 85 slayer came out on my previous acc but never trained it cause i was too into pking and didnt think itd be good money and when i started training it i got banned at 80 slayer for being accused of macroing. I then started playing again this year when pohs came out and then continued slayer because it was a goal i never acheived.Overall i think abbys are good combat exp

522 to 99 slayer

I think it would be an efficient way of training combat and it's always a good thing to have.

^ Thanks Tiff <3:

Just the honour. I mean, 85 slayer is respect. And it's fun to be able to lose a whip in wild, and get one back yourself.

But mainly the honour, the achievment

I find it hard to believe that one gains respect for having more free time than others....

Oh wait, that's the foundation of this game... :-k #-o .

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Jesus Christ, we get it.

Known formerly as Ameoba3000.

Now known as Vigoss.

Most of the ppl think that getting 85 slayer will give them like 5 whips a day.

But others do it for the fun of the skill and if they reach 85 they go on...

Even though whips are under 2m each already, it still is a very profitable way of making money if your not that rich(including me). But for people who already own a few PartyHats isn't 2m every 500-1000 kills a lot.

wccape,Furious%20%20Elf.gif

it's not very good money, if you calc it out it averages about 400k an hour

which is pretty lame but hey, why not make money while you train?

no other monster gives you 50k+ exp an hour and decent money

not to mention, it beats out all other skills other than runecrafting for money by the hour

What?

Sadly, it is, and 85 slayer doesnt get respect, being a nice player and having an all around good attitude get respect.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

How can you give respect to a stupid game? -.-

That's really why I gave up on slayer. Much too annoying to level and even if you do get 85 it's not really worth it anymore.

Hey hey, this is a frikin' Runescape fan site board, don't go that far. The game has its fun things for everyone, me included, so don't throw out adjectives like "stupid" so loosely.

Anyways, there are various reasons to respect people in this game. This is lie the dozenth time I've written this list, but oh well:

Expert Stakers

Expert PKers

Quest Pioneers (from whom we get our Quest Guides, making the quest easy for us)

Boss Pioneers- those who fight tough monsters like the Dagganoth Kings and KQ with no prior knowledge about them, possible including not even knowing what they look like. Those are the guys who make it easier for us to fight bosses.

Rich and Successful Merchants

The-one-in-a-million Kind person.

There's probably tons of other things I can't think of right now :o.

After 85 Slayer, I just kept going and I got 99, coz it's fun :).

I hate the people who camp there because its THEM who make Whip Prices drop, and the more people get 85, the more Whip prices drop.

But the main reason people get 85 Slayer (What I hear most;) is that they want to max their Combat Skill on a monster that also drops nice stuff along the road.

And AirlessWig, I don't respect people who get 85, and then head for the demons and stay there till they drop..

85 Slayer is easy, it really is, especially since the black mask and Lunar Magicks were released.

In the time you get 85 slayer, you will have made much more money than the "small" amount of 1.9m fora whip. Period

If you say you dont want to "waste" money and get it for "free", alright. But you claiming you wil never be able to afford one, is a bit silly.
