If they want 85 slayer let them get it. I myself am 88 slayer and will someday get it to 99. Like you said whats the point of getting 85 slayer?....whats the point of getting 99 fletching, firemaking, prayer, herb, mining, agility, woodcutting, thieving, crafting, cooking, fishing, hunting. You don't really get anything special for 99 in it....but there are 7,486 people with 99 fletch and I don't see you complaining about that.

 

 

 

I believe he's referring to the fact that people are still aiming for 85 Slayer from low levels, which is a total waste of time. Even with all the time spent into getting 85 the low price of Whips makes it less of a profit then Abyss crafting, which takes basically no input of effort to do in comparison to the months of "no lifing" for 85 Slayer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And really don't think your making a ton of money with your 57 runecrafting. Only people that are making a ton of money off runecrafting are 75+ people and the 91+ people like myself.

Getting a whip even once every 3 hours still means 600k per hour, which is still the best money making skill except for 91+ runecrafting, not too mention all the other drops.

It's much faster cash IMHO but if you really wanna get full rune by killing slayer monsters, or full mystic by killing monsters, then be my guest. Go ahead, if you don't....Why do it for whips?

 

 

 

Because whips are worth 2m.. Getting one from a drop is just one of the fastest way to get the money for one. He never said he waned to get other supplies from monster drops, but getting whips from drops is just an easy way to get them.

 

 

 

gettin whips every 3 hours would be good, but you DONT get whips every 3 hours, you get them every 6-8 hours.

 

 

 

Its really strange why people still camp at slayer tower, though they earn alot less than when kiling green drags or crafting nats with below 91 rc, or even killing nechryael.

only time i kill abbys nowadays is when doing slayer, and i rarely get any whips, tbh, i get 20 pairs of rune boots per whip even though the tasks have same rarity.

 

 

 

85 slayer has long lost its glory, but people still bother working hard for it and camp at abbys in hopes for easy money- its time to let go, and find a better moneymaker.

on topic: im 92 slayer myself, 99 slay for a goal (will take several months), slayer is in my opninion the most challenging skill ever to be released, since it yields the least xp an hour.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

furthermore, good way to max out cmb skills, good source of money, and fun to do, able to afk, the list could go on.

If I wasn't 85 slayer right now, I'd still be going for it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A) Its a great accomplishment

 

 

 

B) You CAN get like 3 whips in an hour, even if the USUAL drop rate is only like 1 every 15 hours.

 

 

 

C) Its still good combat exp up there, so why not train on a monster that could make you tons of cash?

 

 

 

D) Guthaning at Abbys is one of the only places in the game where you can get decent cash, good combat exp, and not have to pay any attention. :D

I slay because I like it. I'm training to 85 because:

 

 

 

1)Abbys are good xp

 

 

 

2)Even selling at 2mil, whips make slayer a great money making skill. I stopped slaying at 82 to kill abbys with pies and got a whip every trip, about every 12 pies. And kiliing abbys is much more fun than rcing.

 

 

 

3)skill total..i'm going for 90 slayer by the end of summer

 

 

 

4)I have a goal of being able to do everything there is to do in game and slayer is one of the few skills that I have yet to achieve it in.

 

 

 

5)It doesn't make sense to me anymore to train combat if i'm not also getting slayer xp

 

 

 

6)I want that sexy cape too.

When i get my nice black mask out of the bank and go to the abyssal demon grounds, i pity the people who wear anything but a black mask in there.

Abby demons are one of the best exp in the game. (monsters) They also drop decent stuff a lot like rune and an occasional whip

With fairly good money involved (as in one of the more profitable NPCs to kill), plus that xp, I would take it. 85 slayer is more of a goal of people's, and being able to kill the elusive Abyssal Demon is a huge accomplishment for many people. Some people stop there, a lot of people will train there for at most a few combat lvls and probably will not go back for a while.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eventually when I get 85 slayer, sure I'll train at Abby Demons for a while, it's like how I trained at Dust Devils for a while once I got 65 slayer, you just have to go test it out. However would I max or or anything like that on Abby Demons, no. Simple, money isn't as great, but it's still something while you train.

1) Abyssal demons are the best clue droppers I know.

 

 

 

I got 3 in 100 kills last time I was there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2)Whips are still worth something. The price decline has slowed. It may never drop below 1mil.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3)They drop dragon stuff, dragonstones, and rune items.

I've never really like abbies. Mainly because I have the worst luck. I've gotten one whip off them. Ever. And that was when I used a wild pie at 84 slayer.

there is a point, like someone said, achievment, im only 59 yet im aiming for 85, not for the whips, but for the fact that i can kill abby demons.

 

 

 

plus in one trip my m8 made 7 mil (3 whips and alchin drops)

well, whips cost more than what dragon chains cost at the time they were released, so when higher monsters with beter drops come out you'll just be 85 levels closer to making bug bucks fast. :

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

im still only level 70 slayer but im aiming for either 90 or 99, the reason i started really was cuz its so boring training on the same thing for hours apon hours, when your doing slayer tasks for some reason it seems like you kill more monsters than if it wasn't a slayer task, maybe because theres a number on how many you kill?

persomally, 85 slayer is one of my goals i am currently working on, as well as 77 rc and a santa :D its also a long term goal for many people and free whips, better to train there and get a whip if you loose insted of cutting logs or fishing for it isn't it? :
