knives669
Eating meat is perfectly right. Animals eat other animals. That is the way nature intended it. The meat group is my favorite food group. I could not live as a vegetarian.
Astralinre
For every animal you don't eat, I'll eat three. Hooray Maddox. :P And just to clear this up, the eggs we eat are unfertilized. That means that no matter how long you let it sit around, it will not ever grow into a chicken. If anyone remembers from the topic I started a few weeks ago, I love meat. Guest AshKaYu
Honestly, if you don't show off screaming "stop eating meat, you murderer", and all that hippy bull, you're fine with me. No I don't lol. Honestly, who's the crueler? The butcher who humanely drives a nail through the bull's skull, or the farmer whos tractor wipes out any rodent colonies, destroys countless lives and doesn't even use the bodies? Actually... the vast, vast majority of farmers breed cattlefor the sake of being killed. Just imagine, for a second, if no-one ate meat. The farmers would stop breeding the cattle, because there would be no profit. Diary Cows? yes the profit would be a lot smaller but still. anyway... We're top of the food chain, we can eat whatever we want... I guess if you dont want to its ur own choicebut personally i dont get it... Grammar Nazis? And supermonk, I've ate negative three million animals.
megakiller32
Completely right, but you can eat what you like. They dont just get a knife and run around killing every animal they feel like. You need meat for a more balanced diet, and thats why they have meat farms... or whatever they call them. :wall: Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)

ctp080188
I don't know what I'd do without meat. If I couldn't eat it I'd probably starve to death! No, really! Lol, I just think that it's the food chain. Humans are omnivores and the proof of that is in the teeth. We were made to eat vegetation and meat, hence I do. It's just like tigers eat antelopes, that's not cruelty, it's life. Humans unfortunately are not built to chase and kill our prey effectively, we can obviously achieve it with the help of tools, but why make our life harder when we have the brains to trap our food and breed it? At the end of the day though, it's your own choice. I have nothing against vegetarians or such, I just honestly don't see much point to it if it is your own choice. But you can be perfectly healthy and vegetarian, if it's what you choose, then go for it! SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
Randox
One: unless the egg was fertalized there is no chicken in that egg, just the yolk. Two: it seems that vegatarians need to take extra mesures and/or take pills to stay healthy. This would suggest to me that not eating meant is unnatural for humans. But if you don't want to eat meet and you don't try to make me feal bad go ahead.

nightshade53
I'm a vegetarian.. for no real reason. I have been for 17 and a half years - ever since I've been off breast milk. I honestly don't have a clue why I am a vege, but I can't bring myself to eat meat - it's like a mental barrier :x. I am also quite an ambitious footballer, so diet is an important issue for me. I like the challenge of getting a fully nutritious diet from vegetarian foods, although my dad is always going on at me to eat more protein #-o (He put me on muscle-building protein supplements for a few months - yuck! ). When I see abbatoirs on the TV etc, all the workers say if the general population saw how the livestock is slaughtered, most people would not eat meat from there. Looks gruesome! :uhh: Also, I have a strange phobia of milk.. :uhh:

Ape
I have one thing to say: If cows were carnivorous, would they hesitate to kill us to survive? They couldn't do it in a humane way, they'd do it in whatever way they could. OK, I have a question for Issy: Have you ever ridden a horse/wanted to ride a horse? -Mitch New sig to come! zerosouls
It's all personal preference for me, I've only really met one vegetarian and he was a cool guy, didn't push his views onto anyone. Personally I think it's right to eat meat, I mean it's good for you and everything but i can also see how it could be viewed as wrong. Personally I think it's good for you and it tastes great. I for one couldn't imagine not eating meat, it's something thats there and always will be, it's like water, how could you not drink it, it's always there. But the crazy hippies that try and push everything onto you and torment you for eating meat is really wrong.
BlueTear
If cows were carnivorous, would they hesitate to kill us to survive? They couldn't do it in a humane way, they'd do it in whatever way they could. Do you eat more meat than you need to in order to maintain a proper diet? Would it be possible, perhaps even nutritionally advisable, for you to eat less meat? In other words, do you kill animals by proxy in order to survive, or because it tastes good? Moral issues aside, there's energy issues that needs to be considered as the human population grows larger. A vegetarian diet, or just plain a diet where the amount of meat is kept at a level where no extra protein intake is required, is much more energy effecient than a meat based diet. -This message was deviously brought to you by:
assassin_696
Meh, i'm sure vegetarianism is probably healthier for you in the long run, but it's not for me. I'm at the top of the food chain so I don't have a guilty conscience about eating animals for food. Survival of the fittest and all that and I have a right to tuck into a gorgeous fleshy steak without feeling guilty. If a cow had the chance, they'd do it to you. :uhh: Actually a vegetarian diet has MUCH less proteins, fats, calcium and other vitamins needed to build a strong body. Just have plenty of dairy products and you'll get your proteins and calcium. The fats contained in meat are normally saturated and not as good for you as vegetable fats. And unless you eat all organic meat (not cheap), you have all the growth hormones injected into the meat which don't do you any good. Don't get me wrong though, i'd take any meat anyday. BlueTear
^^ But doesn't dairy just kind of defeat the purpose of being a vegetarian anyway? I forget, which animal do I need to kill to get milk again? edit: I've known vegetarians who actually had no problem with eating game, but totally abstained from anything born and breed in captivity. And I think someone who refrains from anything remotely animalistic isn't actually classed as a vegetarian, but as a vegan? -This message was deviously brought to you by:

OK, I can honestly say that I eat more meat than I need to, to maintian a nutritional diet. BUT, did you know, a female lion spends almost all of her life hunting? Yes, some of it go to her offspring and the alpha-male, but she does eat quite alot of it. Thus, that could prove that it's natural. You eat the best you can, when you're hungry. Also: For all you know, I could have a theorum whereby nuclear Winter is near and I'm stocking up! But that could lead onto a more serious issue. We need nutrition for energy (Obviously). With a very cold Winter upon the UK at the moment, we need to eat alot to have the energy to keep us warm. Meh, it's just a thought. -Mitch New sig to come! Echofish
Gonna be a bit off topic here but all I'm gonna say is that I'm a carnivore. I can't stand vegetables >.< Killing animals for food has been a way life for humans for almost 100,00 years. It's kind of a normal thing for us now. I'm not saying it's right to kill animals but I think survival rather than conservation is what's on top of our minds right now and our ancestors back then  That's just my opinion, don't get me wrong.
