farming

Featured Replies

Why do so many ppl hate farming? I know it takes long to level up. But it doesan't drain your money and u can get theiving exp trying to get the seeds! It is also a pretty good way of making money, if your selling the seeds or selling herbs. It also helps with herblore. I know a lot of ppl like farming but alot more hate it. why? :-k

I don't like farming. With the real time factor it doesn't take too long to get lvls, and you can log out or do other stuff while waiting for your plants to grow. But i just don't like farming in general :P

if you just farm and thats it, then of course its gonna be boring.

do something whilst your plant are growing. maybe, wc and fletch with trees nearby to patches? its slow, but at least its some xp.

It's probably because of the time it takes to earn the exp. Also because of the bad exp? I'm not quite sure about the exp, im only 59 farm and i dont complain

I think most people go around farming in completly the wrong way. Of course its going to be boring if you just stand around the patch and wait for your crops to grow. Instead use super compost and go fish, woodcut or somthing and come back in a while. It takes you maybe only a few minutes to plant and harvest them and the rewards for training it are always nice. (herbs ftw)

you have some valid points, but once you get to a high farming lvl

-you realize that the only good xp comes from trees, which cost a lot of money

-you realize that master farmers not only give out bad seeds (hops and bushes are next to worthless) but also rarely have good allotment or herb seeds AND are horrible xp compared to pyramid plunder

BUT

-you wonder why your herblore level is so low and realize that its only because you need to get the supplies yourself to break even

-you remember that you can get lots of seeds from your kingdom

-you realize that you can make money by ranarr farming

-you realize that herblore and farming are two wonderful skills to combo train

SO

-you head over to the official forums

-you spend several hundred thousand coins on ranarr seeds, snape grass, and vials

-you farm ranarrs and make p pots

-you sell the p pots in bulk at low prices to merchants and still make profit

AND

-you put half the cash you have in your bank into the coffers

-you keep your approval rating up and get rewards every once in a while

-you get hundreds of tree seeds a month

SO

-you get two levels up much higher than you thought you could

-you get a decent amount of cash

-you get two skills ranked higher than you could ever get with a week's work

I will agree that farming isn't the best skill in the game, but its not near as bad as people think it is.

People don't like farming because:

- It doesn't seem like a big money maker

- They are stupid and can't multi task

- They like to complain

It's just a matter of personal preference.

i believe its becasue people actully have to work on it a couple times a day, and have to actully want to level it, its that extra 15mins every couple of hours which will help you rasie the level fast, if you dont then its pretty hard to level it

legends2.jpg

I like it because it is so different from other skills and you can make extra money by herb farming while not being logged in.

People don't know how to train it. While getting 70-85 slayer I'd grow stuff in the port phasmat patch which i'd pass by quite a bit, the tree patch in brimhaven which was very close to the shilo slayer master :)

Because some people are too conservative to understand that farming is the best moneymaking skill in the game, but hey, who cares just keep on clicking them bows and alch them for you cash.

I hate farming because I suck bawls at it. =D>

(Bawls is an Energy drink!)

its almost as usless as firemaking but nothing more usless than that. <.<

Kiss me, i'm part Irish!

It's just so tedious with all the tools and banking herbs/logs every 2 patches.

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

I don't hate it, I'm just not the farming kinda guy, I prefer the exp only hunting gives, when I get 99 hunting, I'm going back to what I like... adventuring.

Farming isnt fun, but it isnt boring.

To be honest, i dont treat it as a skill, but a way to get herbs from the seeds. I almost always drop my attolment seeds, i only keep limp seeds, herb seeds, and tree/bush seeds.
