December 26, 200619 yr I just went to check the rules when I saw this Rule 15. I've never seen it before and its about that you shouldn't block the ads over the runescape window on F2P worlds. Here's the page All I can say is OOPS! :-w
December 26, 200619 yr 1 word: P2p :P Jagex has always stated that they don't like ad blockers. Only thing that surprises me is that they introduced this rule this late. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
December 26, 200619 yr Author Well, They can't really detect if I see the ad or not. And yea, I got a little suprised that there was a new rule.
December 26, 200619 yr Author But you can't get banned for blocking the ads... They can't even detect it. It's such a weird rule that you can break.
December 26, 200619 yr I always do right-mouse click. => Low quality. And then I zoom in and in and in and in. That way it doesent couse lag. And it doesent kill the add. It just makes it smaller and doesent couse lag. My sig was for 6kb too big.
December 26, 200619 yr The only way you can really get banned for this, is if you admit to blocking them in-game. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.
December 26, 200619 yr The only way you can really get banned for this, is if you admit to blocking them in-game. exactly what i was gonna say  Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
December 26, 200619 yr That's not enough evidence. But that hasn't stopped them from banning people for stupid reasons in hte past. :-k The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.
December 26, 200619 yr Saying it ingame wouldn't get you banned, nobody can report you for it. (check the report window, no rule 15 there) The secret of creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.
December 26, 200619 yr Saying it ingame wouldn't get you banned, nobody can report you for it. (check the report window, no rule 15 there) They can report yo for someething else and when Jagex looks at the report they'll see that you amitted to blocking ads. ~It's Super Effective! (The Zaaps Blog)~My YouTube Channel, where you get to watch me go around and make a fool out of myself and all comp capersGuides:~Yeah I wrote them once~Suggestions:~Yeah I made those once~
December 26, 200619 yr They can ban you (or give a warning) you for admitting ad blocking in game. It's the same thing if you admit char sharing, say like with your family member or so. Of course ad blocking isn't as bad "crime" as that, but same thing. They really don't need to detect anything if they got your word about it. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
December 26, 200619 yr i never check the rules. an i thought there were only 13 rules :-k oh well, the ads don't really do anything, it doesn't make me lag or anything like that so i don't really care Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)
December 26, 200619 yr Its mroe of a request than a rule if you read it. /the reason is that those banner ads pay for f2p, companies pay to have there ads appear there. If the companies find out that everyone blocks those banner ads, bye bye f2p runescape. And I am NOT joking!
December 26, 200619 yr Well the only thing is when you block an advent in high detail, it also blocks the music of runescape :) :P
December 26, 200619 yr Author Well the only thing is when you block an advent in high detail, it also blocks the music of runescape :) :P No it doesnt.
December 26, 200619 yr I think Jagex did this just to satisfy the companies who have their ads on the page. I doubt they actually care...
December 26, 200619 yr It makes them money, they dont want potentiol money making oppertunities taken away by people "blocking adverts" De_Pk - Level 117 - Banned September 30th '06.
December 26, 200619 yr All I can say is OOPS! :-w LOL! It's an old rule, though. And it is there for the reasons already stated. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
December 27, 200619 yr ATTENTION ALL: Check "Rule 15" versus the lower parts of the "Terms+Conditions" Page. Due to the fact that Adverts can cause (and in a number of cases have done) damage to a PC, "Rule 15" can't take effect because of Jagex's statement of being "Not Liable" for damages to Your Computer and/or Your Data, else Jagex must be "Liable" because they are trying to force you to do something harmful to Your Computer and/or Your Data. Also, in the situation of kids playing at home who have parents that have a "No Adverts Allowed" Rule, "Rule 15" also has no effect here due to the fact that the person playing RuneScape is not on a PC where they can prevent the Adverts from being blocked. Put simply, "Rule 15" is a "Catch-22" that can't be obeyed by everyone out there. Worse, how they have done it is not legal. You can't "Illegally Entrap" a person who is playing. :shame: Oh, and for those who would argue "Don't play then!", keep in mind, it is those playing on F2P who are even maintaining any entry point for new potential P2P'ers. ~Mr. D. V. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)
