icedearth06
The fact that Jagex took java beyond its limits and made the graphics pretty good for an internet based game anyways. Also the good and bad in the community. Updates, skills etc also make it unique. Viv
the skills aspect. and also your not confined to one thing. you don't have to do the quest in a certain order. also it is a long term game not a game you beat in a week.
Wrench_150
Easier to me and the functions and buttons are easier to handle. Not much lag, easy to understand...basically it's easy to play, not hard with all those windows that flyff has. I still can't get the hang of those controls yet...but rs didn't take me long to figure out how to do stuff. Pretty easy to control your character, nothing that requires a lot of thinking. 99 Fletch~~99 WC~~79/81 Fishing87/94 Magic~~84 RangeEtha! Shadow93
the skills aspect. and also your not confined to one thing. you don't have to do the quest in a certain order. also it is a long term game not a game you beat in a week. WoW actually has more skills that you can level besides combat, theres probably a thousand quests so i'm sure you don't have to do em in order, and not all classes can be leveled in a week, some can take even longer than 2 months (thanks a lot, pest control  ) even after you get to lvl 60 on WoW that's where the actual game begins, you can start battlegrounds (it's like castlewars but much more advanced) hunt for rare items (the best weapon in RS is the whip, but in Wow only like 3 people of the entire game have the best rare weapon and some havn't even been found) and level up your power/def/att to get ready for the expansion (with a new lvl cap of 70) etc.
Foooman
Exactly, WOW you can max combat in a week... True, but combat isn't everything, raiding is where the fun in WoW begins. However, Runescape just has its little quirks that make it impossible to walk away from. You can play it almost everywhere, you can log for hours on end or for short sessions and it's still fun. BloodfleshX
There's more to do than combat, it's constantly updated and it's a web browser game (a pretty good one, too =D> )
-Legolas8d-
The variety of things to do. hardly ever gets boring and you can't max everything out in a couple of weeks. Also the constant updates. Just so much to do! Old Runescape Character: Izup69 combat level 98 hacked by some idiot.
Tbfgraphx14
it has a community, and all of those lvls u can pratice with when bored, it offers updates and lots of quests but I still dont see whats so unique about it put your thoughts here. Freesia
No restrictions to what you can do. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
WolfhunterXZ
For me, I think it's probably the unknown reason why it's SO ADDICTING!!! Despite it having cruddy graphics. I have a few friends who were bagging on it because it has bad graphics, but then I said "Atleast TRY IT" and they did, and now they play it like all the time, it's for some reason highly addicting. Wolfy is Officially Retired.I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D
brave
Most of you are getting off the point. What makes RS unique are simply 4 things : 1) There is no need to download a massive client 2) You don't need to buy software (unlike WOW - you have to pay around ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã15 to buy in the first place) 3) The fact that it is java based 4) You can play it forever for FREE (unlike WOW where you can play free for only 30days before you HAVE to buy a subscription) All this means that RS can be played on ANY PC (old or new), it can be played anywhere that has an internet connection of any speed (until recently I played RS over a 56k dialup link) and you can play it for free for as long as you want. Ambassadar
Another huge thing that separates it is that if I want I can log in for five minutes and do something productive. I remember when I played EQ sometimes I would have to wait an hour just to get a group up before I made any experience at all. RS also does an amazing job with it's non combat skills. Of the MMORPG's I have played it has by far the widest array of things for people to do aside from combat. When I played Wow I was a miner/blacksmith. That is all I could do and it is a royal pain gathering materials to smith in that game so you can't really do it full time. It is more something you do on the side while you train combat. Finally it has the hardest longest most time consuming leveling treadmill I have ever seen. People want to be the best and their competitive nature kicks in while trying to do so. That may be the biggest reason everyone gets hooked on RS.
Goldlord1
What makes RuneScape unique is you can't hack it. Yes, I am a game hacker. Sue me! I love to dupe items on games and throw them everywhere and start riots but, RuneScape you can't dupe or hack and guess what...I am glad you can't hack Runescape!
