While I do love the game, there are some aspects of it that do need some... attention. The extremely problematic (and in many cases, immensly annoying) part of the game I've come to talk about is the Reporting, Banning, and Appealing system in RuneScape.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I believe it completely unfair that blackmarks received before the new system was implemented (June 06, 2006) cannot be appealed, and also, for that matter, have no evidence to support them! That's like throwing someone in jail for theft when nothing has been stolen (I know, horrible example).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, I'm going to ask for all of your complete and total honesty when answering these questions, it's essential to have true and viable data. Yes, I realize that the results of this survey will be in no way conclusive, but it may compel JaGeX to doubt their own system more.

3) The first time I wasn't innocent, I was password scamming. The second time I told someone that I was previously banned on a different account for it and got a perm ban the next day for password scamming again.

1) Permanently banned for offensive language on my very recent pure due to his name, "Ddrs___Pure".

3) I believe so. I cannot think of any reason why "Ddrs___Pure" is offensive to anyone. It doesn't make sense.

3) Were you, in fact, innocent? I believe so. I have I think 4 offenses. One of them is for "impersonating" a mod because some [wagon] of a mod reported me for saying "I have a crown in my bank, too." Second one was offensive language, I deserved it. Last two were by wanna be mods when I was just joking around, any appeal for these two are useless.

3) Were you, in fact, innocent?^ Yes, i went home one day and tried logging on and it say i couldnt, so i checked my inbox and it said ive been banned for attempting to scam..only morons in f2p try that. so i appealed and they said they made a mistake \

I may not have been banned because I had not autoed in about half a year because I was playing RS2 legit (I would never cheat if I knew Jagex cared) then 3 days before the mass ban I gave my account to my friend because I was going to play WoW, and I think he must have autoed on him lol. I never was mad at him but I haven't talked to him since then :shock: . His/his sisters' name was Zimlem on these forums. Best friends I've ever had online I miss them to death.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I could go on a REAL long rant about this but I'll make it really short.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What really ticked me off about this was how Jagex let people auto for months and months, probably at least a year, and 90%+ of the population seemed to be doing it. If you can't beat them join them right? It would take me to train say a level 27 1 def pure probably a few weeks casual gaming (due to the autoers overcrowding the training spots plus leveling was much slower) where it would take an autoer a few days to train the same character. My legit 50 atk 10 def 72 str stats were no longer even remotely decent. So I started autoing(yea this is against the rules isn't it? Whatever). Actually it was kind of fun because I learned how to program scripts which helped me out in my computer classes at school.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What I don't get is how Jagex banned all of these people at once. Did they just take down names for awhile then all the sudden ban them? If so that means they were purposefully allowing people to auto.

I agree with you 100%. If you other people don't get punished why not join them. Although i've never tried autoing because it would ruin fun for me and i'd quit it sounds right.

Who would train to 107 combat and 1620 skill total and spend 30m on 80 crafting, 10m on 75 prayer, 20m on 70 conscruction and many others and play for 8 hours a day to make money in the real world. I can tell you in all honesty that i did not

The one thing they do need to fix is the reporting system. I always get reported by 'newbies" for supposed offensive language. It isnt my fault that jagex blocks half the words of the english language. Also immature people always report me for item scamming because i wont sell them items for ridiculously low prices or for free. Anyway i havent got any black marks from it which leads me to believe JaGex just doesnt care anymore.

There was some noob pass scamming, so for 4hours i stood there shouting jagex doesn't block ur pass, report the scammer.

It applies to everyone really. I had an innocent account that had 0 black marks unfairly perm banned for macroing. I probably failed to talk to some noob who was arrogant enough to think if a player didnt speak to him he must be macroing and reported me. Appeal denied. Account gone. The end. I find it very unfair that you can't appeal bans that happen now for crimes occurring two years ago. I know someone in real life that got a temp ban for autotyping, when really he was just typing fast while trying to buy or sell an item. He served his time. This happened two years ago. Very recently, he has received another 5 blackmarks for that event. Being punished twice for a crime you didn't commit and can't appeal reflects very poorly on Jagex. There wasn't even any evidence to support the 5 blackmarks.

Im clean as a whistle, with some saliva left on it...
