Bigger doesn't mean better, it just means alot more efford for those who take it seriously instead of just putting large blotches of colours as the background. Something along the lines of 100*100 or 150*150 would allow people to concentrate more of their effords on a smaller area. lol thats just for room to do their project. like if they do human anatomy (first week!) they will only do human not backround. they can choose how big they want it to be (the human.)
