~Why do YOU want a skillcape?~

We've all seen them...those flashy, colourful, and just plain awesome capes for those dedicated enough to get to level 99 in a skill. And of course the emotes, and those annoyed when asked to display them, and we could never forget those who try to make a profit off their cape by selling emote displays for X amount of gp each :P. So, do you want one of those capes? Are you aiming for your first 99, or your 5th, or whichever you're on? If so, post here with your wanted cape, why, any 99s you have already, or any other thing about why you want a skillcape.

I for one am looking to get 3 capes, all of which look reaaaaally good imo

Woodcutting

Firemaking

The one in my avvy

This'll take a while, as all capes do, but selling emote displays for 5k each is going to be fun :XD:

disclaimer: if you don't want a skillcape, then say why politely, and don't flame others for wanting one for any reason!

Slick move, putting a disclaimer in fine print :P I myself have the quest skill cape and I'm leaning towards finding another skill to get 99 in. Not sure what, though :-k Mainly because a quest skill cape isn't as permanent as the others, and it can't be trimmed or provide any stat increases, etc. <.<

Owner of quest cape since December of 2006

I currently have a quest point cape which is all well and good but...

My Runescape username is:Fire God

How wrong is it that Fire God does not have a firemaking cape? I need that in order to summon fire at will and make my enemies tremble. Then I want to get a second cape so my firemaking one can be trimmed. Fletching is my closest at 89 so I don't know...

Trying is just the first step in failure.

I don't. My ego's fine without one.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

@Rebdragon: Lol, perhaps we should make you an ego cape?

@Altra: The car companies do it, so why can't I? :uhh:

@Nireva: Firemaking cape is good. Personally, a skillcape impresses me more than a fire cape, unless the skillcape is a fletching one. Sorry, but I'm just not impressed with that cape :?

Well, I already have 2, but want the Hitpoints one the most besides Slayer.

I myself, have actually made over 130k off doing my emotes. Sometimes I'll ignore them or blow them off, but occasionally I'll say, "For 5k" if they ask for an emote. Some laugh and run or say it's item scamming somehow...but some actually pay you. Show them your other capes and they'll pay for those too. :o

Bragging, the fire cape is there for stats :) .

Retired

2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

@ Lep1234: Smart :D

Yeah, hitpoints' red and white cape is nice looking, imo more so than the jet black and blood red of slayer. Also, imagine how difficult it would be to get an untrimmed slayer cape?

@mEb: Yeah, but just for walking around in, I'd rather a skillcape.

skill cape = skilled player

except fletching cape...that just means you want one for bragging rights

I'm on the road for firemaking, it was my first properly trained skill with wc when I began lol.

Also I'm gradually working towards Agility and woodcutting in between firemaking (and getting 70 range lol).

The reason I want one is for the stats too sell my obby cape (cheaper than obby) and it's working as a motive for me to train harder then before...especially now exams are over (until summer)

@BoD: I completely agree.

@kenshin: It's not that we think it's too easy, just that those capes are soooooo common that it really doesn't seem like a huge accomplishment anymore.

@Smapla: Not sure what your message meant, but your sig owns

@Dalcyte:Same here :)

@Zodiak: Yeah, with all the logs I'll cut for 99, burning them all will give off a better and less common cape than taking a knife to them all \'

Firemaking > Fletching

I personally feel the skill capes like an insult.

After all that work to get a 99 all i got is an obsidian cape with a slight prayer bonus.

As additional reward a flock of noobs asking "do emote please" in the rare case they are able to speak right: many of them are not even able to spell the 3 words.

After a while i put the ones i bought to take dusk in the home rack and saved the money needed to buy others. For combat i wil use a fire cape and for normal duties the ava device or a weight saving cape

Skill capes were a wonderful opportunity to give some content to high levels who worked so hard and long for runescape and a goal to others. Japex preferred to make happy the childs who value an item for his look and not for the numbers that make it a good item.

@ Atilla: Oh shut up you whiner. Don't bust Jagex for making a noob-magnet, if an item is a noob-magnet, then it has to be pretty impressive/good looking! And also, it's not like they were going to hand you a fire cape with a better prayer bonus and an emote, killing a 702 has to account for something you know!

I think im most likely to get the woodcutting or fishing cape first. But my dream cape is runecrafting, because it's rare and a hard skill, plus if i made nats all the way to 99 i would of made 240m out of it :) (Yes im currently a noob rc'er -45 ftw!- )

Currently not active on RuneScape.

@Hevendor_Guy killing a 702 need just a few hours of vontinuus playin, some with and some strategy. EDIT: look at http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=604652 about this.

Collecting 13 million of Xp in a skill, expeciually in the old good skills, may need more then an year of playing.

I am not devaluating the fire cape. I just say that the skill cape deserved far better stats and a real skill bonus, not a stupid emote.

Every good player shold first look at the bonus an item gives, and after to the look. But good players are even more rare in runescape then phats.
